    ABOUT THIS CONCERT
Among the greatest electric bassists in the history of the instrument, Marcus Miller is a jazz renaissance man - a multiple GRAMMY-winning producer, arranger, keyboardist, bass clarinetist, bandleader and in-demand film composer who has been heard on hundreds of recordings, was instrumental to Miles Davis’ resurgence in the 1980s, and collaborated with everyone from Dizzy Gillespie and McCoy Tyner to Paul Simon and Frank Sinatra. Following his guest appearances with Herbie Hancock during Season 2, Miller returned to the Miner stage in June 2018 with his remarkable young quintet including saxophonist Alex Han, trumpeter Marquis Hill, keyboardist Brett Williams, and drummer Alex Bailey. The brought a seamless blend of jazz, funk, and modern R&B captured on Miller’s GRAMMY-nominated 2018 Blue Note album, Laid Black.
