My problem with mr2 anything is if I want big power I'll need a e153 transmission. Which are rare. And have no more rebuild kits. So it's either that. Or going with Honda k's to make a cheap nsx. Since they got bullet proof transmissions.
I had 92 MR2 non turbo but I put one in it and some other small modification and honestly that was my daily driver and that's one car I wish I never lost! This was my second car I ever owned got it in 2005 with 168,000 and when o wrecked it in 2012 had 216,000 and the rear and front was smashed but it sure did start right up.... Bought mine for 3500 bucks back then and it's just crazy how much some are going for now! I always thought this was the best looking Toyota built and I still get excited when I see one on the road always was a rare site to see atleast in ohio
@@Electronica27 all turbo models run a e153 transmission I'm over 1000nm on mine and it's fine. Another option if you 2GR swapping it then there is the DQ250 option now. I'm thinking of switching to that next year for my 2GR turbo MR2.

Great video! Loved all the cuts during like the washing and garage door opening, nice editing! Also "more room then in my moms NSX", nice shuttle flex!
That's awesome. Reminds me of a neighbor I used to have probably back in the early 90s. He used to fly down the street in his while giving me thumbs up. Sounded awesome. Hope to see this one back on the channel for some mods.
Great video with crew involved. Have a 91T original owner. Still have a thrill when driving and afterwards. Have been told these (early Toyotas) are set to take off by an insurance man SF. These are unique autos.

Great price on the car. Makes me feel great on what I could possibly get for mine. I don't know if you noticed or not the hood popped open when he drove off at the end. These cars have issues with the latches letting go.
Nice mr2! Isn't this the version called the "widow maker"? I remember that this first version had snap oversteer if you pushed it to hard. The facelift version had better suspension en somewhat wider tires.

Just hang in to it a little longer. Money in the bank! Just look at what supras are selling for now, early sw20 turbo MR2s are the next gold rush. Guaranteed
I am excited and disappointed to hear this. As I have wanted to do this for a while and didn’t realize anyone had done it yet. We may have been looking at a fwd impala in a recent auction lot walk thru for this specific reason. 😁
Long term project vs short term project. Bolting on some suspension is a lot less time consuming than completely over hauling a car lol. She is getting there tho!
Kinda makes me want an MR2 project....😁

If you can afford it as a 2nd car then why not.

The stance is on point with the coilovers.

"is that water bottle oem?" it probably is 😂
One of those high option parts 😁
Did you figure out why the oil light was coming on? I saw even after the alignment that it came on for a few seconds.
I assume it is just a faulty sensor. It is the oil level light. The sensor is in the pan and known to fail. The oil level was fine tho.
Great little cars. The mk1 is an absolute go kart, but the mk2 is so much more refined.
Stop hitting wrenches!!!!
Miss my MK1 and the MK2!
Price wise he STOLE IT
I always liked the MR2 Out of all the lil cars from the 90s
had a supercharged one and a few NSX's way more room in the older NSX then this had both were roomy
Lowering seat brackets would go a long for me fitting better in the Nsx.
Some nice Tein coil overs, also it’s pronounced Tine for future reference 👍
It's a Washington car too :( Where were these when I lived there?
This car is for keeps, the value soon go up like the 98 supra good luck on your project
Texas boys gonna be mad that the best bbq you’ve had is in Pennsylvania…
Whats the website uou were on ? To view the MR2's
