At the final phase, Xemnas knows he's done for, he knows his dream of a complete Kingdom Hearts is done, he knows there is no hope for the nobodies. He can only hope the one who destroyed his 10 year long plan can pay for it along with him.
Absolutely breathtaking. One of my favorite final boss themes for one of my favorite villains in the series. So glad every phase was include since all of them have something to give. The intense bass of phase 1, the grand organ and strings of phase 2, and finally the somber harp and piano of phase 3. Despite the whole "Nobodies don't have hearts" being retconned in DDD, back in 2005 when this song was the final sendoff to Organization XIII even then the sadness of these pitiful men who only desired hearts could be felt within Darkness of the Unknown. Wonderful work once again.
This is goshdarn fantastic!!! Darkness of the Unknown was already a beautiful track, and still is, but your cover easily comes close to the greatness of it!!! Also, so few people actually cover the 'castle dragon' portion of the song, and hearing your cover whipped me back to it. Most people complain about that portion, but it has to be one of my favorite parts of the fight, and you have absolutely done it justice!!!
dude this remake was sensational man, it had a lot of hero vibes, the feeling of the final clash, like "the fate of everyone is in your hands", knowing that everything is at stake and that everything depends on you two: sora and riku
