- In the box you get the light unit and two sets of brackets so you can fit two LED units.
The hanging kit is available separately from Giesemann.

Thanks for sharing this. Been looking for some info on the Giesemann. Looks much nicer than the Aquatic life fixtures.
Brilliant just what I’ve been looking for 👍👍👍👍👍
Great review, I just bought the 2ft version here in Australia, it has a black textured finish making the colour look gunmetal grey. Very nice! The weird thing is that it appears Giesemann have addressed the issues you raised regarding the end plates. They supply smaller screws now that are easily screwed in. There is a cutout section on each end plate exactly as you propose which allows the perspex cover to slide out so you can access the bulbs without having to unscrew the whole end plate. Im using this with an Illumagic Style LED which is already an amazing light on a 2ft tank for SPS, the T5 supplements perfect using 2 blue plus and 2 coral plus. Instructions supplied with the unit still just a few diagrams on a single page.
That's interesting - I'll check it out. I have 2 blue+, a coral+ and a purple+ but I want the same bulbs as you. I wouldn't be without a T5 LED hybrid now.
Great review. Planning on getting one for my next build (not sure how long T5s will be around for though).
Your tank’s growing in nicely! I’m having serious issues with my 120L. So difficult to find the balance with nutrients etc. thinking about taking all the life out. Leaving it fish only for a few months and then try again with corals. 🧐
Thanks - it's not without its problems though! I found my mini reef difficult to balance too - hard work with so little water.
Nice review. I echo your sentiments. I acquired the unit in July and identified the same issues. I wrote a review on reef2reef called “an honest review of the giesemann stellar” where I outline the issues and the responses from giesemann.
Thanks. I read your review before I bought it. Nice to go in with open eyes - I avoided the shortening kit because of the vents which I didn't know about before your review.
The Reef Dork thanks!
Hopefully they take our comments into consideration and make some modifications.
Thanks again for the great review and video.
Nice review. Will you be moving the tank at some point? Peninsula looks weird against a wall / a wall with a pastoral/floral background
No space for a traditional peninsula install but it looks fantastic! Much better to see through both sides rather than looking at a black background 👌
Shipping cost how much to uk
Can i ask what bulbs you were using. Ive purchased one second hand and was thinking 2 ati blue plus and 2 coral plus. What would you recommend? Thanks
Same as you - I tried swapping one coral+ for a purple+ then an actinic - they give a slightly nicer colour to my eye, but it's a pretty subtle difference, especially the purple.
@@ReefDork thanks for getting back to me.
Hey mate, any updates on performance/coral growth?
Cheers!
I've just posted a few growth photos on my Instagram page (thereefdork) but everything is doing pretty well. I'm working on a tank update video so I'll talk about growth in that. Zoas and lps are growing very well but I've got problems with my sps so I can't report on them.
Cheers Alex!
