- In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view on Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) between Dobrinishte and Septemvri, the Rhodope Narrow Gauge Railway in 4K/60 frames per second.
The Septemvri-Dobrinishte narrow-gauge line is the only operating 760 mm (2 ft 5+15⁄16 in) narrow-gauge line in Bulgaria. It is operated by Bulgarian State Railways (BDŽ). There are 4 trains per day in both directions with an operating speed of 30-50 km/h. The journey takes approximately five hours through the valleys and gorges between Rila, Pirin and Rhodopes.
The route leads from Septemvri on the mainline Sofia- Ihtiman - Plovdiv to Dobrinishte, passing towns of Velingrad, Yakoruda, Razlog, Bansko and Dobrinishte, linking the western part of the Upper Thracian Plain with the Western Rhodopes, Rila and Pirin mountains. It passes through beautiful mountain areas with many scenic spots to admire and travels through 35 tunnels. Due to the characteristics of the route through the mountains, the narrow-gauge line Septemvri-Dobrinishte is also known as the Alpine railway in the Balkans. Avramovo station, situated at 1267 meters above the sea, is the highest station in the Balkans.
The railway was built in several stages between 1921 and 1945 with a total length of 125 km (78 miles).

_Danke fürs Mitnehmen. Es war eine lange sehr schöne Fahrt. Besonders eindrucksvoll war der letzte Abschnitt durch das schroffe abenteuerliche enge Bergtal mit den schroffen Felsen und der 30 (?) Tunnels. Es war wieder eine Bilderbuch-Fahrt, wo, naja, das Navi, seine eigene Geschwindigkeits-Abschätzung hat. Dem Navi hiermit gute Besserung zu wünschen ist. Diese Fahrt kommt zu meine Favoriten. Jetzt heißt es erst mal aussteigen und auf den nächsten Zug warten._
Thank you for taking me. It was a long, very nice ride. The last section through the rugged, adventurous, narrow mountain valley with the rugged rocks and the 30 (?) tunnels was particularly impressive. It was another picture-perfect ride where, well, the navigation system has its own speed estimate. We wish the navigation system a speedy recovery. This ride is one of my favorites. Now it's time to get out and wait for the next train.

A wonderful video, I hope that you will still capture the Bulgarian railway lines, and I also have a suggestion for you: maybe you should capture the Nis - Skopje line from the Cabin of a cargo container train, if passenger trains do not run regularly between Serbia and Northern Macedonia, this option will be an alternative.
