The No2 is the front row is called a "hooker", not because he sells his body on the streets.
His responsibility in the scrum is to "hook" the ball when it's feed into scrums.

When it comes to high level Schools rugby 15 v 15 you get to see the team that’s clearly better yet you can switch player by player from the A team and the B team and you wouldn’t notice a damn thing😂. Same as the springboks. You’ll get a guy coming off the bench and you don’t even notice the actual starting pleaser isn’t on the field.
