I've been playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla so when I went back to Odyssey pre patch the 30 fps felt so slow and off, especially when every game I've played since getting the Series X back in November has been in 60 fps or more, now Odyssey feels so amazing with the update AC Odyssey was already my favorite AC game now even better

Assassins creed origins for me personally is up there with AC EZIO FRANCHISE (alll AC games which have ezio's story , AC 2 , REVELATIONS and BROTHERHOOD (not 100%) . Why is origins good? Story - ✅ Character-✅✅✅✅ Graphics- ✅ Map - ✅ Combat - ✅✅✅✅ This , as i like to say is where next gen AC started . All new combat , controls , interactions etc. This game was a risky move from the devs as almost the whole game was DIFFERENT from all the past AC's . Dont get me wrong , u still get the feel of playing a AC GAME , but just so much more FRESH . And the story is just 🍻. And Character himself is one of the best game characters, one of the few characters who can really express their emotion to u in game industry. And forget main missions , side quests are so enjoyable as well , i never got bored doing them. Now u cant just spam your buttons to win a fight , u gotta have patience and Pary! Counter-attack! Eliminate! Insane stealth mechanics , its just so fun to Eliminate the pillagers base. Overall, i love this game . For me its a 10/10 personally. (Sorry for the huge novel 😅)
I enjoyed Odyssey on my 1X but as soon as I got it on the series x within the first 15 seconds the difference was so vast, it's such a fluid game now and the immersion is beyond what I imagined
It really doesn’t matter even at 30 FPS, which most people have been playing for years. The game looks and plays gorgeous on the oneX. No reason to upgrade to a series X even now. Also they are more prone to problems.
I've always had the opinion that games like this (or the Witcher or even Dark Souls) work just fine at 30fps as long as the input lag isn't more than it needs to be (whereas I refuse to play shooters at lower than 60fps for instance... just makes me almost physically ill). However, going to 60 feels like a breath of fresh air. Going even higher is icing on the cake, but for games like this I wouldn't sacrifice graphics to go beyond 60 like I would for for instance a competitive online game.
Yeah that’s exactly what I think, I tried these and tomb raider at 60 FPS and just thought it was strange. Much harder to climb and fight with accuracy. I think 60 FPS should be for racing and first person shooters. 👍🏻 that’s why I kept my Xbox one X. And use a series X for new upcoming games.
No significant visual difference so nope the One X is just fine, these games play and look beautiful on the One X. Save next gen for when they actually make next gen titles ONLY for them.

I remember buying Odyssey on X1X, returned it within an hour as it was almost unplayable due to not being locked to 30. Imo, locked 30 is the minimum. Now that I have the XSX, I purchased again and wow, so much better!!!
I didn’t have it installed on my internal drive so the x/s enhancement wasn’t applied. Will installing it on my internal drive instead of external make it run smoother and at higher fps?
How do you get the update mine says 1.5 an says frame rate update in my main menu when everywhere it says 1.6 an it even says odyssey is a series x game in my library

More aggressive DRS, more aliasing, lower LOD, lower textures in some spots. That's what you get for 60fps.Just like in AC Valhalla in performance-mode. The only difference is, Odyssey doesn't suffer from screen-tearing like Valhalla does @60fps

Do you know why it doesn't change? Why Ubisoft, even if it has games on PlayStation or even Xbox, uses the same graphics engine, which never seems to change.
That is, without optimizing the game internally or altering its coding. If the game developers gave it their touch, they would go *even further beyond* what is achieved with FPS Boost.
Why should they have to drop the resolution on games that are built for older hardware just to get them to run@60 fps on much more capable hardware that can easily run the game at full 4k @60 ??? Doesnt make any sense to me at all

@cycu1 unfortunately, many people on Reddit and the official forum are reporting a big drop in terms of resolution on Series X. On Ps 5 this isn’t the case.
Most people now a days have monitor and TV which supports freesync. That should help remove any performance hiccups from the new generation of consoles. Except ps5

I was waiting until the cyberpunk nextgen upgrade came out but the XSX isn't going to drop in price for the next few years. Current shortages will make sure demand stays high at current price levels. So basically there is no reason to wait until the first must buy nextgen title is out. So if you can pick one up then why not? I got one last month and between 60fps, warp speed loading and quick resume it just enhances everything I would otherwise have played on X1X. Even though there are no nextgen titles out that for me are system sellers (even though flight sim is cool). Definitely not regretting the upgrade (previous gens I would wait a few years until a price drop / must buy nextgen title came out).
They had a HUGE sale on a bunch of AC titles a little over a month ago. Some were bundled with DLC included, 50-75% off. Gonna have to look for those. Doubt they will end up on game pass.

Black flag was an exception for the serie and was kinda repeated in rogue so people had enough of it. They just got old in terms of gameplay. If you dont care about gameplay but the sea theme, pretty sure theyll make a new ac game with the sea theme or similiar.

I hate this update, you have no option to choose performance or graphics mode, you just have to play in 60fps with pathetic draw distance, pixilated fire and God awful edges to things. Go to photo mode and zoom in on your eagle if you don’t believe me. Not to mention the water, it looks TERRIBLE. Totally ruined the game for me, won’t be playing again. Why not just give us the option?!?
@@mikey9265 They sure are my friend. The draw distance has taken a hit, the water looks awful now, the pop-in is crazy, not to mention the amount of time it can take textures to load in. There’s strange shadows everywhere, fire is pixilated and HDR seems worse. When you send the eagle up the land looks barren as hell, nothing like it used to. I just wish they had given us the option of a “graphics” mode and “performance” mode, rather than forcing the latter on us.

When I go to those places (post-update) and compare what I’m seeing to the pictures taken pre-update, the draw distance, shadows, foliage, volumetric lighting and texture mapping are all reduced now. I have been speaking to a lad from Digital Foundry and he says that the difference is night and day. I have also spoke with many people on RUclips who attest the same as I. Do you have a decent TV? On my 65” Bravia (4K HDR etc...) it’s so easy to see that it’s not even worth a debate. The resolution has also taken a hit if you’re doing anything other than just standing still. Go and look at the water texture from a distance, can you not see the difference? Ubisoft themselves would happily tell you about the graphical downgrade if you asked them I reckon. It’s no secret, why do you think Valhalla has a “performance mode” and a “quality mode?” Ubisoft just couldn’t be bothered giving us the option of a “quality” mode and instead has forced us all into “performance mode.”
@@Mike649foxx I have a decent TV (Samsung Q60R) but it's a small 43 inches one, so it's probably why I didn't see much downgrades. However I indeed noticed that the picture is 4K like when standing still, and as soon as you move you lose resolution. It's especially visible when rotating the camera, what you gain in camera smoothness, you lose in "camera details" if that makes sense. So they did work on it, it's not just an unlocked framerate, do you know if PS5 suffers from similar downgrades ?

They should patch the texture pop up in Ac Unity.
They should do a proper patch for all their Xbox one games. Series X is the same architecture so it shouldn't be much work at all.
Ac1,2,3,4,unity have bad drawdistance and lod pop in i ever see. Npcs spawm is so bad in old Ac games.

It's repetitive but also fun to explore just don't rush and take your time. It's a good game
People hate on this game for being way to long but to me it was alot better than valhalla.. at least we had naval combat and a more interesting story

Enjoy! I found Odyssey to be the best in the series. Best world building, best characters, best story and best side quests by far.

I really don't know why but ac odyssey FPS are really bad on xbox one x. Origins was better at this point.

You really think 30 vs 60 fps is a minor difference? But yes, graphics vise not much difference can be concerned (on a highly compressed RUclips stream).

I hate this update, you have no option to choose performance or graphics mode, you just have to play in 60fps with pathetic draw distance, pixilated fire and God awful edges to things. Go to photo mode and zoom in on your eagle if you don’t believe me. Not to mention the water, it looks TERRIBLE. Totally ruined the game for me, won’t be playing again. Why not just give us the option?!?

@@mikey9265 They sure are my friend. The draw distance has taken a hit, the water looks awful now, the pop-in is crazy, not to mention the amount of time it can take textures to load in. There’s strange shadows everywhere, fire is pixilated and HDR seems worse. When you send the eagle up the land looks barren as hell, nothing like it used to. I just wish they had given us the option of a “graphics” mode and “performance” mode, rather than forcing the latter on us.
Personally I only saw a drop in resolution, everything else is the same as it was, maybe the lower res make them look worse
@@ThibautMahringer I have some pictures saved on the map from before the update. When I go to those places (post-update) and compare what I’m seeing to the pictures taken pre-update, the draw distance, shadows, foliage, volumetric lighting and texture mapping are all reduced now. I have been speaking to a lad from Digital Foundry and he says that the difference is night and day. I have also spoke with many people on RUclips who attest the same as I. Do you have a decent TV? On my 65” Bravia (4K HDR etc...) it’s so easy to see that it’s not even worth a debate. The resolution has also taken a hit if you’re doing anything other than just standing still. Go and look at the water texture from a distance, can you not see the difference? Ubisoft themselves would happily tell you about the graphical downgrade if you asked them I reckon. It’s no secret, why do you think Valhalla has a “performance mode” and a “quality mode?” Ubisoft just couldn’t be bothered giving us the option of a “quality” mode and instead has forced us all into “performance mode.”
@@Mike649foxx I have a decent TV (Samsung Q60R) but it's a small 43 inches one, so it's probably why I didn't see much downgrades. However I indeed noticed that the picture is 4K like when standing still, and as soon as you move you lose resolution. It's especially visible when rotating the camera, what you gain in camera smoothness, you lose in "camera details" if that makes sense.
So they did work on it, it's not just an unlocked framerate, do you know if PS5 suffers from similar downgrades ?
