I like to think that part of why Hera favors Melinoe is that she's the daughter of Hades and Persephone, a happily married couple, rather than being one of Zeus or Posideon's dozens of half-mortal affair children. Also, do I spy some hints of aromantic Melinoe? Or at the very least Demiromantic, since she still seems to have some amount of feelings for her suitors, just not immediate "falling over herself" love.
Aww, that’s a really cute sentiment since the whole struggle of Hades 1 is restoring the entire family and House. And Hera favoring Hades’ marriage recontextualized the entire journey of Hades 1. OOH right, I felt this when I got the dialogue but glanced over looking back. Relatable I’ll say ^ and honestly, when Moros was asking how to express affection, Melinoe didn’t provide any reciprocity to the thought. Nor reciprocity in any other hints such as Icarus either, very cool code to her sexuality ^
@@Hamstir4 Well, I do think she reciprocates to some extent in cases like Icarus or Arachne where she's known them for a long time, it's moreso a matter of her still considering them friends aside from occasional flirtatious comments. Like she said, she doesn't fall as suddenly and deeply into love as other people (like, say, her brother) and The Mission overrides all other personal feelings that she's probably compartmentalizing.
@@ghastlyghifin4029 Right! She reciprocates really well as a good friend, I just don’t recall much reciprocity of flirting. When Moros was asking how to be affectionate, Melinoe gives a straight answer, but does not engage the idea that he was asking how to be affectionate with her. Instead, he respectfully waits for the right time or for signs that Melinoe is inviting, but the conversation ends there haha. It really does seem that deep feelings are secondary and the Mission is priority. Tho!!! I could be wrong because Hecate notes there’s a sprout to her step and she knows she may be developing feelings. This is ofc, when’s she at home during her leisure hours. Perhaps the dialogue with Narcissus was supposed to appear sooner before the Moros and Nemesis dialogue? So the order got mixed up. I’d imagine we’d get dialogues of Aphrodite reaffirming Melinoe’s feelings in the future too if there’s any development. Mel could still be aroace or demi, and I’m still reading it as such ^ mang romantic/ sexual attraction is something.
Book club meetings. Accurate, really XD. I'm actually super grateful to Hades, because I've had a love-hate relationship with Percy Jackson for two years now, so it's good to see a well written and nuanced Greek Mythology story. Supergiant's versions of the gods are really cool. There's only a couple I'm not a huge fan of, but even those have their charm. Poseidon, for example, behaves like a chill, carefree uncle and I love him for it. He's cool without being too sanitized, casually talking about causing floods, for example. Zeus is selfish and utterly disgusting, but he's also jovial and frankly hilarious sometimes. Hera is still cruel, but also regal, competent and intelligent (and hot as hell, my god). Also, poor Arachne. "Hope can be such a tease". Dora would agree. Question: Is Hades 2 much more complicated than the first game? I don't know much about the gameplay yet, just the story. The hud has more stuff than in the first game, and more symbols in the boon descriptions.
In addition, Zeus needed to learn charity and temperance to end his adultery, selfishness, and troubles. As for Hera, she needed to learn compassion and patience to end her evil deeds and wrongdoings. Moreover, the only way for both the king and queen to become better rulers is for their granddaughter Harmonia to make them feel concord, peace, serenity, and harmony.
@@Hamstir4 Okay, gonna be real, I'm a bit more confused now than before XD. But I get the point, I think. You find it more complicated, but not too much so, and it's more fluid than Hades 1. As long as it's not annoying to learn, I'll be fine.
@@scarletowl4556 LOOL, see I got too incoherent. I’ll simplify it! So there’s an Arcana Origination, that gives 50% bonus damage to foes that are inflicted two Olympian curse effects (freeze, blitz, scorch, etc.) Despite all the new fun mechanics, none of that is worth worrying about because a strong Run only requires 2 curse effects, and you are set. Things look complicated on the screen, but I’m mostly doing great because of Origination (and other Arcanas). This is more subjective, but when I mean fluid, the game feels cinema in my head. 11:24. An evil Hera killed Zagreus, Melinoe's younger brother in the Orphic Hymns. And Hera will definitely kill Melinoe in the Orphic Hymns when that stupid Orphic Hymns keep saying that Melinoe and Zagreus were the children of Zeus and his daughter Persephone. An evil Hera encouraged The Titans to kill Zeus's illegimate heir, and the Titans managed to distract Zagreus, with various toys, including a mirror, the Titans then seized the innocent baby and tore (or cut) him into pieces. The pieces were then boiled, roasted and partially eaten by the Titans. But Athena managed to save Zagreus's heart, by which Zeus was able to contrive his rebirth from Semele. That is, Zagreus was reincarnated as the nasty Dionysus. However, I will never believe in those stupid Orphic Hymns, Never ever. You see, this is why I hate Zeus's selfishness and greed, Hera's evil deeds, the falsehood, blasphemy, stupidity, and deceitfulness of Dionysus and the Orphic Hymns. I'll tell you more when Dionysus mentions Zagreus because this is so Unacceptable and Unforgivable. I mean it was Zeus who agreed to let Hades kidnap Persephone to make her as Hades's wife as Queen of the Underworld. And if Persephone is the Queen of the Underworld, that means Melinoe and Zagreus are Hades's children as the Princess and Prince of the Underworld.
