24 TORNADOES CONFIRMED during nocturnal outbreak on January 9, 2024!

- This video shows storm chaser Reed Timmer chasing a major #tornado outbreak in the middle of the night in the Florida Panhandle. An EF2 tornado made landfall very near my location at Santa Rosa Beach, causing a 106 mph wind gust to be measured by the automated mesonet station there. If I positioned 0.25 mile to the west, it would have been a direct tornado intercept. 24 tornadoes have been confirmed from this outbreak, including an EF3 tornado that came ashore at Panama City Beach.

I am 1.25 miles from where the F3 hit lower grand lagoon. I heard it coming right to me, it bounced right over top of my neighborhood. Freaked me out how fast it came upon us.

What impressed me the most is that this HUGE storm was from florida to northern Quebec. Means all east coast was under the same storm. That’s crazy

I like that you guys teach while being so entertaining. It makes the whole thing less scary to me. I’ve always had a bad fear of tornados but seeing how well technology has come and how advanced spotters can normally track most of the storms before they hit makes me feel at ease ❤️

You can see it in that power flash near Shreveport and in the rotating twin curtains on the bridge. Also had a visual in a lightning strike but yes, I could barely see anything either lol
