I still remember feeling awful (in general and for you) when you had to take down your old videos because of copyright. I’m one of the ones who likes those less popular, “sciencey” videos, but I’m patient, and I hope someday you can bring that kind of content back when you’ve built the channel back up :) cheers, to your new endeavor!

I found your channel quite recently. My son asked me a question about how poison works and I explained carbon monoxide poisoning, but then I realized that having just one example is kind of boring, so I did a search for cyanide poisoning to refresh my memory on how that one works. I sure wish that I had found your channel sooner! I'm particularly interested in molecular bio/biochem/drug chemistry stuff. Also, I love anything to do with debunking pseudoscience. Can't blame you for shifting focus to the darker topics, but I would also love it if you throw in some science-for-science-sake topics once in awhile. I am looking forward to binging all your old videos over the next few days.

And while on the topic of your channel management, what's going on with your history channel? I was one of your early subscribers but havent seen new content in quite a while.

Life is difficult and I want to be positive. I will be skipping more of your videos than I did before. I've never understood people's fascination for horror. There is enough of it in real life without watch movies or read books about it.

Basically, if the quality stays the same, nobody's going anywhere lol. And now that I think about it, that's actually a good idea as I don't believe that is a niche that has really been explored at any great depths on RUclips
You could also make a second channel which would be the original channel "questions for science" where you could upload videos about science that are not dark science related
It’s actually a little sad that you’re making this decision and going for more grim content. I was thinking about the fact that people are obsessing with morbid things a tad too much imo than they should (just look at Top Apple podcasts - like half of them about some crimes, or fascination with serial killers and so on), and seeing that a science channel under the pressure from the algorithm and due to lackluster views is succumbing to the same darkness is a bit of a shame. But, good luck in any way, I just hope and wish for you to make the content you enjoy and want to see out there.
Make the content YOU want to make. I remember the heartbreakingly powerful seatbelt video story. If you only focused on dark topics, you might not have saved that viewer's life. Don't let the views dictate your content. Only you should do that.
I'm curious, can you go over the scientific explanation regarding Elephant's Foot in Chernobyl and why it's so deadly? Also, you can talk about the radium girls' case and how radiation works. And the Typhoid Mary Case and how a microbe called Salmonella typhi can cause many medical problems to the person. That's what I thought of, what do you think?
The cool kick in Redium Girls is that it also has a lot to do with howdivalent ions work in our body, as it was the radium's specific valence that made it so readily incorporated into bone tissue, essentially ruining its structure
