For me, the Rebel Fleet Trooper from Tantive IV was always a gap in the collection. I’m sure I’m not the only one who played with the Death Squad Commander as the Fleet Trooper. There are some awesome retro versions of this figure being produced by custom SW figure makers now.

I was reading market research material for Kenner and you are right, but they soon realized that the figures sold more because of the economic times and they upped the production numbers for the figs all year, and only upped the vehicles/playsets numbers during the holiday season. What a fun topic to make a video on Joey. I always enjoy discussing figures we wish we would have had back in the late 70's & early '80s. I would have loved to have had more Cantina aliens, or jabba's Palace aliens and bad guys. One I'm surprised that didn't make it on your list was the rebel Trooper from the Tantive IV scene from ANH. Otherwise, you named off most of the major ones that I would have liked to have seen. Including Hutt Slayer Leia! Glad that you're able to wrap up your loose Leia run. As a kid I always wanted a slave leia figure, cause i was obsessed with the whole jabba palace scenes, it was my intro to star wars. I bought a vintage collection slave Leia last month to make up for it lol. Wallet said ouch tho lol. But I love it on that vintage style cardback.
Wow another great episode. When I was a kid I never thought that deep into it but a Slave Leia would have been great. I always like to see more chewy yelled at the mouse droid and it took off the other direction maybe it would have been cool if they were thrown in a mouse droid as an accessory. You're way more knowledgeable about Star Wars than I thought which is great and I can't wait to see more of your journey.

The reason Kenner didn't continue with the SW line, is that by the time Empire was going to be released, Kenner decided to halt the the third wave, and focused on the sequal. Also, Kenner didn't have enough material(photos, actual costumes, props, etc), to do the rest of the line.
All the aliens in the cantina that weren't made, Tonnikka Sisters, Cantina band members, Myo, Bo Sheck, Pons Limbic, Hem Dezon, Garindan, Kabe & Muftak, Givin, Nabrun Leids, the Lamproid, the Duros, Devoronian, Too many to mention all of them. Then we should have got Wedge, Biggs, Han in Stormtrooper, Tarkin, Motti, All those guys around the Death Star table , Uncle Owen & Aunt Beru, All the droids in front of the Sandcrawler, The Dejarik Aliens as Figures & Creatures, Rebel Technicians, Y-Wing Pilots, Rebel Fleet troopers, Jek Porkins, Red Leader, The Bantha, And that's just from ANH.
I would have loved the Cantina Band!!!! As a kid I always looked for those in the store and catalogs to see if they came out! I read somewhere that Peter Cushing refused to license his likeness, hence no Tarkin figure. Strange because he was a serious collector of lead soldiers.
I was trying to find an answer for that and could not get any press articles released in the mainstream media to fact check that, but I found a ton on blobs so I couldnt include that because it would have been just hearsay and not fact. But eventually they made his figure and they had his likeness on the Burger King glasses so i'm guessing that wasnt the case? We shall never know, at least not now. Thanks for watching Donovan! Yea I try not to mention any companies with retro looking figs on this channel and try to keep it authentic Kenner, but I may do an episode on custom characters that fans have made :). @@thepadawancollectorofficial too bad. many collectors love the reproductions and customs... they make hard to get, over priced figures affordable as well as introduce characters not seen in the original run. this renews interest in the original line and brings more people to the table, which drives up market value for originals (ebay prices are insane)... which should make the investment collectors happy 😉 lockdown got a lot of people back into the hobby.
I always wanted a Tarkin, Tatooine Stormtroopers and Rebel Soldiers from the Tantive IV. I think Kenner missed out on producing multiple droids as well? 🤔

I was today years old when I learned a that R4-M9 from the beginning of Star Wars is an imperial R2 unit and not a rebel droid being taken prisoner along with the rebel soldiers 😅
Definitely Slave Girl Leia and Oola. Oola, should've been part of the Jabba Playset. More of Jabba's courtiers: Ephant Mon and Hermi Odle, would've been appreciated back in the day. Both, physically large characters on film, may've been a mark against them ever being considered for production as action-figures by Kenner?
Just found your channel. You are a man after my own heart. I went through my "complete my childhood collection" journey last year. I'm equally organized and kept meticulous notes on a spreadsheet with prices, etc. It was really a fun project. Glad that you are documenting it. One question, I've only watched the first 6 videos so far, and this one, and I've heard you mention staying on budget. But I've never heard you state your budget. Do you have a total in mind to stay under, or do you just mean you aren't going to buy all mint condition?
Well I have a monthly budget that I dont disclose, but I do show how much I spend on each figure. I have estimated that this entire run will cost about 15,000 to complete, but we shall see if I'm over/under. Maybe I'll give a prize to the person who comes the closest guessing, lol. I also used the Cloud Car Pilot as a rebel soldier, the helmet has that same basic shape. Except orange!
