Glad there's other people out there that love Velocity X like I do. It's such an unassuming game since there's a ton of hot wheels games out there. Velocity X always stood out to me as being my favorite. The idea of designing the game around how hot wheels cars are actually played with by kids rather than designing a more traditional arcade racer was a genius idea. Shame that Beyond Games shut down after releasing this game. I hope the devs when on to do bigger and better things. Great video btw ❤
I still remember reading Nickelodeon magazine and there was this awesome full page ad showing the cars racing down the side of a building. That's when a ps2 with velocity x went on my Christmas list and i spent so many wonderful nostalgic hours playing it
definitely happy to see more people covering velocity x and other related hot wheels games, especially this one of this quality. a good video that got a few laughs out of me. 😂
Well, now we have a prerelease version of the game availible to the public and hooh boy, did ALOT change in the matter of development in like 3-5 months.
absolutely! I love the futuristic aesthetic, this game gives off such a 2000's vibe. I sunk so many hours playing this and getting into battles just for the fun of it; I really wish more people talked about this game because Most people who play hot wheels games tend to talk about World Race and Velocity X is a game I rarely hear about.
16:08 worst part is the Koenigsegg, a real Swedish supercar maker, also wanted to make cars that ran on “volcano fuel” so you can’t even blame the writers for this nonsense XD
When I was a kid, I thought of a hot wheels idea involving max, Ryan from Stunt Track Challenge and another going up against Otto and his army of robots. Racing on different tracks in a different dimension
@Wassup_bruh So, it would be a follow-up to Velocity X when Otto escapes. One year later, Otto finds a way to travel across different dimensions to gain ultimate power. He creates an army to end the world. His lieutenants are the bosses from Velocity X. Dr. Justice recruits the best drivers to stop him. Volcanic, Storm, Water, Dessert, Jungle, City, Ice, and many many more
Oh man, what a trip down memory lane! I remember my older brother got me the PC version for either Christmas or a birthday or something in the early 00s and I had no expectations for it looking like a bargain bin game but I wasn't going to complain because I was still a kid who got a brand new game to play on my crappy Windows XP PC (which back then felt like the coolest and most high tech thing I had ever seen besides a PS2) and I gotta say, as someone who enjoyed car combat games like Twisted Metal, v8 and interstate I remember enjoying it quite a bit and then forgot it existed until pretty much now. Not gonna lie I kind of want to replay this, I definitely miss that early 00s kids game but trying to be edgy and cool but still PG sci-fi nonsense that we don't really get anymore. Thanks for the video!
This game was my childhood, major nostalgia!! Friday night in the early 2000s playing Hot Wheels Velocity X, with Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network in the background, and having Soda and Pizza. True nostalgia right here!!!!!!! My Favorite cars in the game was Arachnord, Seared Tuner(called Sho-Stopper), HW Prototype 12, Evil Twin, Twin Mill 2, Overboard 454, Flashfire, Jaded, Hyper Mite, Krazy 8s, Sol Air 64 and Power Rocket. I even played this game with my siblings and they all loved it hahahahaha.
I remember playing this as a kid. Was never able to beat that scientist dude, he would jusy immediately blow me up as soon as the race started. Either way it's a game I remember fondly.
When i saw Velocity X for the first time and play it i thought the game is very early concept of HW World Race and Acceleracers due to the story had a kinda similar background
I remember I got this game and also got Ps2 Console for Christmas in 2002 that was my first Ps2 game I was 7 years old I still have that game to this day that game dude is Awesome 😊🎮
I just got a legitimate factory sealed copy of this game for PS2. I am beyond stoked. Literally my childhood and one of my earliest gaming memories playing this on dads work laptop in like 2004 😮💨
I think I was a dumb kid lol. Played this game sooooo much and never even knew it had a story 😂 I used to just collect keys and drive around. There was also like an arena desthmatch mode I played a lot. This lore blowing my mind.
I always thought the MS-T Suzuka was his favorite. Despite it having really low stats, it's still an iconic looking car and it's also the cover car for the game in general.

Great video btw ❤
Nitro Byrne being Vert Wheeler off the perc 30s is funny asf
Vert 20 years in the future, unable to cope with the fact that he lost almost every race in acceleracers
Still chasing the high that I got from playing this when I was 9. One of the first PS2 games I ever had

i need a velocity x remastered
We all do
We need it on all pal forms and on steam
Don’t forget Turbo Racing remastered.
Unfortunately they won't happen, the only HW game we got are HW Unleashed and it's sequel.

This game was absolutely glorious.

Yeah, probably took inspiration for Otto's design from Mr. Koenigsegg himself too

Yo that sounds sick!
Ever heard of Acceleracers?
@Wassup_bruh
Yep, and that's where i got the idea from. But the tracks would be a whole lot different
@@ShadowKillerX nice. What did you have in mind?
@Wassup_bruh

I use to play this game in the computer lab of my daycare when I was a kid, still in texas.

Absolutely loved playing this game as a kid. My favorite way to play was in battle mode and turn weapons off to become a demolition style game play.

God tier game dude
Recently collected every single car from the game down to the design and I’m so proud of myself ngl costs well over 300$ tho😂
When i saw Velocity X for the first time and play it i thought the game is very early concept of HW World Race and Acceleracers due to the story had a kinda similar background
i loved this back than, i never got past the first 25% probably since i was like 10 years old and very stupid. but it always felt so epic
Peter is also Bentley and Moneybags from Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon.
I remember I got this game and also got Ps2 Console for Christmas in 2002 that was my first Ps2 game I was 7 years old I still have that game to this day that game dude is Awesome 😊🎮

I liked the game, and I think a new hot wheels game with a campaign/story mode could do well given the right circumstances.
I will write down the idea of a hotwheels game for the new game system
How dare they say Max's favorite car is Maelstrom
I always thought the MS-T Suzuka was his favorite. Despite it having really low stats, it's still an iconic looking car and it's also the cover car for the game in general.
@@LykanPrototype
It is. but I think in the Gameboy version they just put it like that
peak game
Why’s Nytro look like Layne from Alice In Chains?
I still have my copy, I used to play this with my brother split screen all the time
Yes
Where can I download it ? I miss playing it when I was young.
