The Real Cost of Raising Chickens for Eggs

Are you considering getting chickens? But what would the cost of raising chickens for farm fresh eggs be? We have been raising egg-laying chickens for the past six years on the homestead and have a good handle on what it takes to raise chickens. But our chickens provide more than just eggs for us. We use our chickens to help fertilize our garden, fill our freezer, and make a modest profit off the eggs we sell.
