When my wife and I moved rural, we looked into this. I got a great book from the library with lots of details.
That is until the last two chapters, how to convert a live chicken to a dinner chicken. At that point, my wife looked at me and said NO.

My wife likes to name our 🐓 so that makes it hard sometimes!

A lot of good information brother. People might definitely want to think about this option as opposed to buying in store.

Thanks Josh! Meat and eggs keep going up. People used to say you could buy it cheaper than you can raise it. I’m not so sure now. Plus I like to know what I’m eating!

    Great info.
Thinking about converting a shed we have to a coop, but the whole process seems kinda daunting.

Great video! One of your videos popped up, and while I have been subscribed for awhile now, I don’t always catch everyone through no fault of my own. Had to check this one out. Just curious when it comes to health measures with chickens. Obviously you can get them from different sources, and while many folks want to go all natural, but do the small farm and hobby chickens get any medications or a vet visit? I just like to learn something new every day.
I am slightly jealous, but I have some idea of all the hard work you go through. Thanks for all the videos.

Very nice video. I’m just about to get chickens. Like your modest set up. Something I could do.

Does the chicken coop bring in the rats? That’s one of the reasons I haven’t started chickens.

No we haven’t had a problem. Our feed is stored in a barrels that are sealed tight and the chickens eat all of what we put out for them daily so there’s no waste to attract mice or rats.

Don't use pride chicken feed from tractor supply the chickens stop laying eggs they put something in their feed so they can't lay eggs
