    • @MusingsbyAmit

      You have to read the Employee Agreement you have signed. In that if they have a clause that you cannot jump directly to Client Company then it will not be possible. But if your client likes you. Then they can request your company and your company may release you under some conditions fulfilled by the client. It is not that this does not happen but you have to be careful because you may lose your job and also the client.

    Hi Sir, i am one of biggest losers who lost onsite option recently, Hence i watched your video which motivated me. My company filed visa and i was working for client since 3 months. I did work well, but my manager kept with some complaints now and then and told client is unhappy due to this and that, which i know never happened, now after 3 months are done, i finally got my visa, After 1 days my Manager came and told there is no onsite for you due to budget reasons, or you were not good with client, which seemed vague to me. Since 6 weeks i am in mental depression. Please suggest me what to do, and how to deal with it. I want onsite sooner to close my home loan. How to come out of this dilemma, which i almost made it but lost it at very end as well ! 😔

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  3 года назад +7

      The first thing is do not be desperate. You handle your client in the best way such that your client will put pressure on your manager. The biggest hurdle is Visa. If you have a visa then you are one step closer. Have patience. Raise the level of your work. Frustration will lead to poor work quality. So avoid frustration. Remember that covid is not over. Also if you are going to an absolutely new place in these times it can be dangerous. So take this as a blessing in disguise. When time is right it will happen it is inevitable.

      In the Trump era onsite had become difficult. But now it seems to be opening up. So yes onsite opportunities will increase in TCS in the near future. But TCS also wants to build a remote work force. I have to see how that plays out. But you need a dream and then you should have some patience. If you just started your career or are in the age range of less than 40 yrs old then you can also try to go abroad and work directly on your own. A lot of countries need engineers from India.

    • @MusingsbyAmit

      There should be good opportunities for PLSQL or Mainframe Administrators because there are not many engineers on mainframe. I am sure that if you search then you will find some positions and be able to apply directly. Before you apply directly understand what is the visa situation for each country you want to apply for. Because it all depends whether there are work visas or not. Whether your companies has opportunities or not you should find out from your seniors or your manager. The easiest way is to find out who was on your team earlier who may be sitting onsite now.

      @MusingsbyAmit  5 лет назад +1

      The competition for Onsite is high. So the first thing you can do is make sure your potential and performance are at par with everyone on the team. Then you check your attitude. Do you have a pleasant attitude? Even if the environment does not support such an attitude - at workplace such an attitude is important. You make sure that irrespective of what your boss thinks and what people on your team thinks. You have the best attitude. Even after doing all this if there is no change in your boss within 90 days. Then you will have to change your job. I believe that the best job is always there but we don't know about it. So you have to find that job where your potential - performance and your attitude is respected. As I mentioned before you take any steps to change your job - make sure you first look at what is within your control. Best wishes. Hope you are able to unlock your full potential and find the best job that is made for you.

    1.5 yr in ASP.NET, 1 year in Ab initi0 Rest in webmethods.

    I am also in UK Project but works In India.
    please suggest me some idea how can I approach my manager.

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  4 года назад +3

      This is a tricky question. I had someone on my team in a similar situation. She resigned from the job because her husband got a UK visa. On that visa, she could go and find work in the UK, so she quit. She was on a significant project and an essential part of the team. So we spoke to the client. The client agreed to allow her to work from their office. So then we retained her. We negotiated a salary for her in the UK. Then she started working from the UK. But in our case, we needed that person. If you approach your manager, you have to access the situation correctly.
      You also need to see how outstanding is your job. Can you quit here and then go to the UK, and will you be able to find a role in the UK is the question? I feel first to write down your thoughts on all the questions you have in your mind and the possible solutions. Then make a firm decision before you approach your manager. In case your manager is excellent. You can also share your truth with your manager and tell him that you need advice from him about what you should do in this situation. That can also work if your manager is excellent and accountable to the team. I hope this works out for you. Finally, think about what is most vital for you and make a decision. It does not matter if everything is not exactly as you plan. When one door closes, another always opens.

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  5 лет назад +1

      The best technology for Onsite today is AI, ML, Data Science, and IoT. These technologies have a lack of supply but a huge demand. They will remain relevant for more than a decade. Also Digital Technologies like Cloud, DevOps and Web Applications have also matured. All these technologies have a demand, but the supply of quality talent is less. Even if you can focus on one technology stack out of these and gain skills good enough to work on projects, then you can easily apply onsite. Some countries will hire you directly without having to go through services companies.

    • @MusingsbyAmit

      Pandemic has almost dried up all the Onsite Opportunities for now. In Fact all the best companies are working on how they can have remote workers in their company. So now you can work from anywhere and everywhere which means onsite opportunities will become less and less in future. But you cannot ask about these things and you will not get the best answer. Because there are many factors involved no one can guarantee. You have to have this as your goal and see if you can directly go abroad if possible. Can someone tell me what is onsite and what are its benefits?

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  3 года назад +3

      Onsite simply means that the company you are working for is sending you to some international location for a short or long period. The benefit is you get to explore a completely new place. You get all the visa and other process done for you. Also once you have experience of Onsite then your value within the same company increases. Also some engineers get long Onsite like 3 yrs visa and all. These engineers never come back to india. Their visa keeps getting extended. Then one day they become a citizen of another country. If you like to go abroad and see places and live away from your home in India then Onsite is beneficial. If you do not like to go abroad - there are many people like that - then onsite is not for you. But simply put Onsite is also kind of Promotion because many people want Onsite and only few people get it.

You go to LinkedIn and look at the Job description in your field for the location you want to work in. Check what skills they are looking for. Then you can upgrade your skills in those areas along with the skills you already have experience. That way you will be more probable to go abroad. Check with your manager if your project has potential to send you abroad and ask what skills you should master for that. Then it will happen.

      If you are in manual testing then chances are less. There is no reason for the client to bring you onsite. But if you learn QA Automation and learn to build automation scripts and tests. Then you have a very good chance. In that case companies who are moving to Automation in Testing will bring you Onsite. It does not matter if you take one month or one year to upgrade yourself. Your growth whether you stay in india or anywhere else depends on how you upgrade to latest cutting technology. Manual Testing is difficult unless you are a Sachin Tendulkar of Manual Testing.

      Every IT Company in India has onsite opportunity. But you have to understand that the onsite opportunities will be very few. They will be less than 5% in any company. So if there are 1000 people in a company it will at the most have about 50 Onsite Opportunities. As the companies grow bigger there will be lesser opportunities. Like TCS has 4.5 L employees so in a given year they may just have 1% or 2% onsite opportunities max or even less.

    Out of all the points you have mentioned the most challenging one is to find which project in your company has an onsite opportunity and it should also have the technology you are skilled in .. any suggestions on this point sir...

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  4 года назад

      If the company is very large then it becomes difficult to find out. Unless you join the project. If the company is small then it is possible. But all this information only comes out from networking. In covid you have to network over zoom. But you have to talk to different people in your company. Another thing you can do is to get into some company level volunteering teams. Many company form Issue based teams which have nothing to do with your project or work. These teams are formed to solve some issue without the company. You can volunteer for such teams where you meet people from different projects.

    I am a java developer and have learnt Data Science but m not getting opportunities to switch. I am thinking to become a scrum master and enter management now. What would you suggest in terms of onsite opportunity for this profile

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  3 года назад +2

      In terms of Onsite and overall growth in IT industry Data Science has more scope. If you have learned Data Science then find a purely Data Science Consulting company where all the projects are in Data Science there you will have more scope.

    Hi Sir,how to get onsite opportunity in siebel...

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  4 года назад +1

      You have first to find the company that works on Siebel and has either clients Onsite or is an MNC company with offices in India. Then you follow whatever I have mentioned in the video, and you will be able to find an opportunity. You can also try to do PR for Countries like Canada or Australia and then go after you have a visa in hand.

      I made this video pre Covid 19. Now the situation is totally different. Now you should look for Remote Jobs if you want to work with Foreign Companies. There is no idea when travel will open. Also no idea when Visas processing will start. I would suggest to find more local jobs in the interim and postpone your international travel till the virus gets completely destroyed from face of earth.

    Hi, I watched your video till end and realize that I have all the desired skills to dream for an onsite opportunity. I have positioned myself as trustworthy and taking responsibility.
    I really appreciate the key points mentioned by you.
    I have 2-year experience in an IT MNC Company but my project is sinking and about to end in the month in which I will complete my 2 years with the same project.
    Since there are so many projects which are running in my company so could you please suggest me that what would be the correct approach to grab onsite opportunities:
    1. Ask the Manager to push me on the project having onsite opportunities.
    2. Switch to another company to target the opportunity.
    3. Switch the technology-specific company having a requirement at onsite.
    or is there any other way to fulfill my dreams?
    Please let me know your suggestions/views over this.

      Since you have positioned yourself, you do not have to do anything more but focus on your job. Usually, we have an illusion of control. Where we think we can do something to achieve the result we want. But the universe does not work that way. You just believe that you will get an opportunity to go onsite. Let your manager decide the project you get. Or let the company decide. Let go of all effort to control your next move. Let things happen. You will be surprised by how fast you get the results this way. If you have done all the work here to position yourself then why do you want to change your company? Anyways when things are all aligned you will get the opportunity the way you want.

In short, I need to start from the beginning after a few months.
      So, my direct question to you is should I invest my efforts and experience by switching to another company or waiting in the same comany|New Project where I will become pushed after few months?

      @@nayanshrijain2040 The problem we have is that we cannot predict the future. We don't know if you have a better chance in the new project or in a new company. Both are unknown. If I did not have problem with my current company then I would stay and see how is the new project. Are there any good chances for onsite? Then decide if I should move to another company if I see no chance. I remember someone had joined my team from another project. That person got a chance in my team because of his performance which was good ahead of others on my team who were with me for some time. So these decisions are not easy. Best is to think and imagine all possibilities. But work the way you are doing on every project. You will get a chance sooner or later. Understand that you cannot control your future. So let go and focus on your current project. The last few months are important. Who knows your client might need someone onsite for maintenance? If you are ready you will get a chance.

    Hi sir .I work in an MNC with 4 yrs of experience. I worked with quality team and for the past 1 years, I'm in cloud migration team .there is very less scope to go onsite. Please advise

    • @MusingsbyAmit
      @MusingsbyAmit  5 лет назад

      Here is the thing. Have a desire in your mind - a strong desire. But let the time do its magic. You need to focus on becoming the best all round person on your team so that when something opens up you are in the front to be picked up. Also in your mind you don't decide that this team does not have any scope. Because it means you are locking the door before the opportunity shows up. Remain in the lookout. You will see the opportunity very soon. When I joined a new company and a new project I had no idea I would get an opportunity to go onsite. But within a month things developed and I was the first one from my team to go onsite. So have faith and work. Journey is important not destination.
