Dude, I've been waiting for someone to review this one. Im glad its you reviewing it because your reviews are fun and soothing to watch man. Looks like you've earn a subscriber 🎉
I wish you did a stress test for max temperatures, like cinbenech 2024. Thanks for this review! It's a shame speakers are shit. I really want better speakers but seems like only Yoga have that, which would increase the price by 2x. I ordered IdeaPad Slim 5 Gen 9 (16" AMD) but I really hate that it's limited to HDMI 1.4b meaning I can't use it as external display running 2k 120Hz and HDR. I will be forced to use 60Hz during HDR. Also slow USB can slow down professional camera workflow because my external SSD storage supports 20 Gbps... And upgrading to the ideapad pro just for better ports seems useless. Also I can't get 32gb ram because display goes to 1440p and LCD, which is a massive downgrade from OLED 2k. It's a sad situation overall, every choice has a massive drawbacks and the only way to solve most problems is to spend twice as much money... for even worse performacne because all higher end laptops come with a 3k or 1440p monitors and only rtx 4050... It makes no sense to have such high resolution on tiny 14 or 16 inch screens.
Saw this review and just bought this with Ultra 9 32GB ram and 1tb SSD. The U9 really pulls the iGPU along. Great with Premier Pro - though I export 4k projects on the desktop at home. Great machine for on the workflow
I'm currently contemplating between the Zenbook 14 OLED and Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i. I would greatly appreciate your insights on which one you prefer. Your thoughts will be valuable as I weigh my decision on these two laptops.
@@shotafry6068 in the I bought the Lenovo as well. But I kinda regretted it. First, I had a faulty unit, as the fan was making a lot of noise. When I tested it out, I don’t really like the trackpad and the keyboard. (The keyboard is very quiet, but I prefer the more tactile experience, and the trackpad button was abit too flimsy for me). Lastly, the screen was gorgeous, but the refresh rate was quite slow and the screen couldn’t follow the speed of my mouse. Not sure is it just a unit issue…
I do not know in other countries since Lenovo is a bit of a mess in providing same specs everywhere... but.... In Portugal the amd version can be equipped with r7, 32gb soldered ram and rtx 4050. For about 1560€.... A bit too expansive due to the limiting soldered ram (which however should be enough) but yeah. The Intel version it comes only with integrated graphics. Do not know why.
I'm really excited for this newer "core ultra" processors. This first gen is just a start, but I truly believe that they are going to turn around for the better. AMD is also really efficient, but their availability is no where as good as intel laptops.
Excellent review. I have one question though. I *hate* matte screens. On the ordering page, it says "reflective" aka glossy. Nonetheless, on your review, the display looks... Matte. I would appreciate it if you could clear up my confusion. Thanks.
Very cool review just subbed! Can anyone help me decide? I am deciding between a Dell Inspiron 16 Plus (16GB expandable + i7 13620H + RTX 4060 + 2.5K display) sold by Amazon and the latest Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i gen 9 (2024) which is also 16" + 32GB non-expandable + Core Ultra 5 125H and sold by Lenovo. Both are the same price at 1000 EUR in total. I'm tilting towards the Dell due to the amazon warranty and the expandable RAM option but feel missing out on the latest Intel Core Ultra processor that looks good to me in terms of efficiency. Also the display is slightly better on the Lenovo due to (claimed) better color accuracy and higher brightness. I do not care about gaming btw. Thanks for any comment, is very much appreciated!
Thanks for watching! Personally I would advise the Pro 5i simply due to better thermals. The new 14 and 16 Plus have serious thermal issues at the moment which can hinder performance.
Was spricht eigentlich gegen vernünftige Anschlüsse!?

Great idea in theory. However microphones don't work like human ears, they pick up distortion and cannot declutter background noise at greater distances which results in a worse/less accurate sound test than keeping the mic close to point blank range does. Hope this helps!

IntelCoreUltra is now more efficient than AMD Phoenix according to hardware canucks, Andrew Marc David and Matthew Moniz.
