Absolutely fantastic, Jen! Your enthusiasm and joy while analyzing Haley is infectious. Wonderful video, great breakdown, and please keep being you! Thank you for what you do. Now for a recommendation -- Seven Nation Army by PMJ with Haley. Another absolutely brilliant performance.
It's so hilarious as the xylophone/marimba guy tips out the way and then SLIDES back in again when his part comes back up... As if in between he has to go sweep the Floor on stage left or something. Also speaking of the zylophone (and sax), The pace rhythm and approach of this arrangement with that xylophone (and sax section) just rings true with Leslie Gore's original of "you don't own me"... It's a very clever and good mash up
She and PMJ have done an excellent job with this song. They also do a very good version of "Black Hole Sun" and she does an wonderful job on the song "Lay it down".
I was chuckling out loud at the stops/analysis before you mentioned them at around 45 seconds in, because I had seen this before and knew you'd be hooked by the dynamics of Haley, the arrangement and the visuals. I really enjoyed this reaction and analysis. I'm looking forward to many more Haley/PMJ reactions+. They are all great.
Never apologize! I looove watching professionals react to my fave vocalists (eva cassidy, ptx, haley) because of the breakdowns. It gives greater appreciation for the vocal gymnastics a truly great singer does that get taken for granted because of how effortlessly they do it. It also highlights things i may have missed or just not glommed onto. Great, great reaction to one of the most insanely talented vocalists, not just of her generation, but ever.
I love the band playing the chorus of "You Don't Own Me". It totally works. Lyrics go "Don't tell me what to do Don't tell me what to say And please, when I go out with you Don't put me on display"
What a great cover by Haley! She is definitely my favorite PMJ guest artist. Loved your reaction/analysis, always on point as usual. I've watched and listened to just about every PMJ video they've put out and every time I'm amazed how they are able to completely change a song's vibe. Your reactions are so fun and enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to your next reaction/breakdown, they are so fun!
Thanks so much for this, Jen. I adore your joy and admiration that you show for Haley's voice. It's infectious. Thanks for teaching us all so much more about vocal instruments.

As always you helped me understand her singing better and, as always, I love the Jenn humour and facial expressions that brighten my day. If I'm having a sad day I come to you. Thx again
A wonderful analysis and reaction to my favorite female vocalist. Haley definitely takes us on a roller coaster of emotion from sadness to rage and finally to quiet acceptance of the situation. She really does the song justice. Keep it up Jen, your reactions are always enjoyable.
Vocal coaches can do entire clinics on Haley Reinhart not only because of her vocals but how she uses every vocal color effortlessly. Haley is a unique singer
Just want every Haley fan to know that this disgusting individual finds every single Angelina Jordan reaction he can find and leaves the most vitriolic nasty comments he possibly can..I’m afraid he gives your fav artist a bad name.
Normally I would find her singing too exaggerated and over the top, but it works so well interpreting these lyrics. Haley's solo music is so much more restrained, and also amazing, and I think she uses these PMJ covers to just unleash the beast within her. I wonder how long she can sing like this before gassing out both vocally and emotionally. She is also one of my favorite singers. Between Morgan James, Haley, and Angelina I've developed a love for this kind of jazzy music I never knew I had until a few years ago.
Honestly, I didn't even realize there was a harp until the end. But just as much as Haley, I love the violinist directly behind her. So much enjoyment and movement (I know, not what we're analyzing here, but things I notice the more I watch some of these videos)
Great reaction! I don't mind the stops and commentary. I always learn something or notice something that you point out. I love Haley's voice. She is currently touring and I have a couple of tickets for one of her shows late next month. I'm really looking forward to it!
Haley is the absolute perfection in vocals so so much better than her time on American Idol the stuff she has done with PMJ has rocketed her into stardom she is one of my most precious performers.
What a great and brilliant Cover of No Doubt. They make it their own son, wow. Thanks for getting into the detailled analysis, it opens up new perspectives to love the song and the version even more, thank You so much, Jen!
Loved this when it came out and it is certainly a song I think you could cover very well. PMJ are so good at creating these "new" versions of classic songs. If you fancy a bit of a double header then Hayley was also involved in the PMJ version of All About The Bass but you should then watch the Home Free version :D
@@JenniferGlatzhofer If you do a reaction of the Home Free version for some extra fun I highly recommend to afterwards watch their "behind the scenes" video to it. It definitely shows how much fun they had creating the final cut. You'll find it in their "in the vault" section on youtube.
Super exciting reaction! Jen. Haley is an artist that is so different from most artists out there today. While she may not be on everybody's A -list, I have to thank you for giving her vocals meaning and making sense of how she performs this song and all the nuances and techniques involved in making her voice so so dynamic.I personally found this performance riveting and emotionally powerful ! Haley uses every fibre in her vocals to their extremes and has delivered a cover so different from the original ! The song may be titled "Don't Speak " but Haley's voice speaks volumes and her dynamic stage presence is fabulous ! Thank you Jenn for your expert analysis and commentary ! I can see you are a true fan of Haley as am I ! One of my favs ! Keep posting Jenn much appreciated ! 👍☺️🇨🇦❤️❤️
Not a huge No Doubt fan, but I always did love this song. But I have listened and re-listened to Haley's version so, so many times. Just a grand re-imaging of both ska and Gwen Stefani's original approach. Love. It. And great reaction!
I wanna buy everyone involved with this song a drink. everyone in the performance, and everyone in the reaction space :D I would love to just have a conversation with anyone involved about this production. I imagine it would be a blast. There are so many places to nerd out, musically...
This is a Fantastic performance. But I always fall back to the CREEP video. PMJ knew what they had found when they did her first video. Hence the many new songs with her. Amazing. Great Post, Jen.
technically, I think "Creep" was Haley's third or fourth PMJ video. Haley first 'appeared' in a PMJ video as a 'cameo' in her friend, Casey Abrams' PMJ video, "Stacy's Mom". Haley can be seen in the back, over clarinetist, Jacob Scesney's left shoulder, behind Scott, but on the bar. She is swinging with the song, with her back to the camera. Haley's first 'official' Postmodern Jukebox song is her Tove Lo cover, "Habits". Then Haley was in their re-working of "All About That Bass" w/ Morgan and Ariana, THEN "Creep" came out. Just keeping things factual ;) (Story goes, on the 2015 European tour, at the time, Haley only sang "Habits" and group songs. It was her first professional tour after Idol. Haley asked Scott if she could sing "Creep" for their show in Lyon, France. Scott Had recorded Creep recently, the first time, w/ another singer, Karen Marie. It was in Lyon that Haley debuted her version of Creep, which the crowd blew up for (the video is on RUclips, search 'Haley Reinhart, Creep, Lyon". They recorded the Creep video along w/ All About That Bass, the first time Scott had ever 'redone' a cover he already recorded, shortly afterwards.)
@@donnilloyd1355 There was a loooooong dry spell after Haley was dropped by Interscope. Luckily, we had Casey Abrams who helped Haley start performing small clubs again. She didn’t do social media, but we got some news via Casey. Joining forces with PMJ was the thing that vaulted them both into a whole other level. Being near the center of it all was what boosted my channel as well. My video of Creep in the UK before the video was released & PMJ early Morgan, Ariana & Haley performances was when my channel finally got decent views. It was such an exciting time :)
Jennifer! For a change I'm avoiding catch-up mode and watching your video, at least the same day it comes out. 😁 I like Haley a lot, though I hadn't heard this cover by her yet either. She's just amazing. She has great stage presence besides being so talented vocally. An awesome reaction by you ... nearly 23 minutes of Jen goodness! Not sure if I learned anything new or not but you caught a lot of things in what Haley was doing that I missed and was glad to have pointed out. You're educating us one video at a time. It's a process Jennifer. 😅 Can't wait for the next video. 😊 Hopefully time for another theme week soon?
Haley could sing a grocery list and it would be fantastic. Great reaction Jen. I love your enthusiasm and passion for the performances and I always learn something from your analysis. I look forward to whatever reaction comes next. (P.S. Always make sure the emotional support pillow is present prior to the reaction 🤣)

Awesome reaction. Not sure if you've seen it, but a reaction to Post Modern Jukebox - all about that bass. It features Hayley, Morgan James (you reacted to her singing Dream on with PMJ), Ariana Savalas and Casey Abrams.)
She’s my 2nd favorite American Idol vocalist. Slightly and I mean SLIGHTLY behind Jennifer Hudson. And that’s stupid crazy high praise.cuz J-hud goes stupid hard.

Could listen to her all day and you really got into this one very good!! would love for you to do Daneliya Tuleshova and the song Not About Angles , this was great and i think you and us all would love to hear your take on it. Haley’s famous alphabet consists of 26 vowels, consonants are for mere mortals. It’s easy to be captivated by Haley’s presence but try to appreciate the string section’s performance of Scott’s composition, top notch stuff there👍
Haley's voice is so sassy and sexy and she can turn it on a very thin dime teasing you to thinking she is going to take you somewhere else and can do a pirouette on a pin head vocally pulling you in and leaving you standing there with 29 cents change from a dime. She should be on Broadway or toying with your emotions on the Big Screen championing that sexy sassy voice romantically dripping the female persuasion whichever direction the mood needs to go........ Wow, she has amazing control of her vocals. 🎼🎶🔥❣✨ Jenn, love your reactions and no apologies for stopping.... Had just as much fun listening to you as Haley singing........ You both are terrific!! 🎯 Spot on...........
Greetings, this video is definitely majestic, just like Creep's. I know you've already reacted to Beth Hart but I guess you haven't seen I'd Rather Go Blind (live in Amsterdam) with Joe Bonamassa... if you like that one too you can try I'll Take Care of You (Live in Beacon Theater, NY). Success!!
Floor has a great range as well. Loved her version of Everdream, especially towards the end. I'd love for Haley to try some Nightwish songs. With how much she can play with tones I think she'd kill it!
As much as I'm impressed and find pleasing just about anything Floor Jansen performs solo, the unique structure of Diana Ankudinova and the up and coming Giulia Falcone, I'll vouch for either of them, for the past decade Haley has been my favorite vocalist by far.
If you like Hayley suggest you listen to "The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra" featuring Hayley, playing "My Baby Just Cares For Me". If you've ever seen "Jurassic Park", you might recognise the keyboard player. Be prepared to fall down another rabbit hole.
I need to find an original styled arrangement of this song...my first listen to this song was electro swing, this is wildly different, then I can't remember the genre of the other cover I've listened to but it was also quite different....
okay I now need to find the original and then watch this right after before continuing, I'm loving this too much and I'm a nerd like that where I want that kind of context...way to go Jen making me listen to good music...bah
another nice emotional reaction jennifer. note that this extraordinary cover was done last fall on the 25th anniversary of the original no doubt release. it had been well over 5 years since postmodern jukebox and haley had done a video collaboration together and more than met the high anticipation. during that time frame haley went back to her solo career and released 3 albums while the popularity of youtube's pmj (especially those with haley) had exploded. you may also want to consider her stunning platinum award winning cover of "can't help falling in love" for extra here: (ruclips.net/video/_uNpEbt7w_o/видео.html ) . she touches the soul like no other and maybe the best vocalist of our time
I really do like your reactions, it’s obvious how much you enjoyed this! I’m a big fan of PMJ myself but as regards the song I prefer the original nobody could get the same emotions in the song as Gwen Steffani 🥹 Your technical explanation and demonstrations are very good and contribute much towards the recording. I feel a bit that maybe you could spread your wings a bit to a wider audience by taking in some more rock music; maybe bands like The Warning - 3 sisters from Mexico who have a big following and have recently took the 1st track on Metallica’s Blacklist album with Alessia Cara. Then there’s Jinjer, a Ukrainian band who are getting pretty popular and share venues along with Nightwish (who I see you like - has to be Floorgasms 😂). Plus Epica whose singer is a friend of Floor’s, Simone Simmons, they have done a classical duet together mid gig and held the crowd spellbound. The there’s the Japanese rock scene, Lovebites is a great and very talented band, all are classically trained as well as what they present as a band. Finally, a favourite of mine Spiritbox whose singer Courtney LaPlant is just amazing and so much fun. Don’t take this as being any form of criticism, it’s your channel; your choice! 💖💕💖
I can suggest you 'Kaz Hawkins - Feelin good', 'Roxy Perry - House of the rising sun' and 'Meira - Ain't Misbehavin'. If you don't know them, their voices are awsome. Kisses from france
You're a voice coach! No offense, but I think you're the first person with a British accent I've ever heard call herself that! I live in the Fenway of Boston, MA, USA which is basically the heart of Berklee and Northeastern Conservatory... I've known Haley for some years (and she's never been here) but I'd suggest "All about that Bass" and "Mad World" ...
Another comment, after rewatching your reaction. To break the tie between Creep and Don't Speak, you must react to Seven Nation Army. Totally different vibe.
This was my introduction to this singer, and it was a tough one for me. I literally went thru an entire range of opinions. When she opened the song, it sounded to me that her voice was going to fade behind the instruments. If it wasn't for you talking me thru that part, I probably would have bailed on her at that point. And, of course, she began to ratchet up the power and I began to enjoy the performance. But then came the heavy metal audition. At least, that was what came to mind. I know I am way off base here. But the song seemed to get lost in the performance from that point on. I get that she made an artistic choice. But, it wasn't an artistic choice that my musical taste was comfortable with. At least I was able to learn and appreciate that much. Don't know what else to tell you. I tried to like it.
Hey, that’s absolutely fine!!😁 I love how music moves people differently (or not very much haha) and it’s about how it makes us feel at the end of the day. Thanks for sticking around! 😊
Hi Jen, please react to Amir Masdi cover - Here's Your Perfect. He's a Malaysian singer. The original singer, Jamie Miller even reacted to him and was amazed by his cover. And please react to Never Enough (The greatest showman) cover by Amir Masdi. It's also the hardest song to sing. He did amazing job for these 3 songs. I would love to know your analysis on his voice because he has such a unique voice among singers in Malaysia. Thank you. Love from Malaysia❤️
#Subscriptionsquad Jen you need to check out Tommy Johansson. His voice is comparable with Floor from Nightwish. He blew me away with his Phantom of the Opera and The Show Must go On by Queen. It is sooooo powerful and you NEED to hear him because it will give you the collywobbles
No disrespect meant to Haley, I think she's a beautiful vocalist and incredibly talented, but that first "the end" at the start....she sounded like Timmy from South Park. It was an interesting artistic choice and kudos to her for stepping up to it, but I can't say that I enjoyed it at all. Everything else about the song was great.
Haley never ceases to amaze me with her voice, she is one in a billion
The Haley PMJ “Creep” cover is one of if not her best.

Success!!
I can never decide if Haley, or Floor Jansen, is the best vocalist out there today. It depends entirely on which one I've just listened to.
I need to find an original styled arrangement of this song...my first listen to this song was electro swing, this is wildly different, then I can't remember the genre of the other cover I've listened to but it was also quite different....
okay I now need to find the original and then watch this right after before continuing, I'm loving this too much and I'm a nerd like that where I want that kind of context...way to go Jen making me listen to good music...bah
another nice emotional reaction jennifer. note that this extraordinary cover was done last fall on the 25th anniversary of the original no doubt release. it had been well over 5 years since postmodern jukebox and haley had done a video collaboration together and more than met the high anticipation. during that time frame haley went back to her solo career and released 3 albums while the popularity of youtube's pmj (especially those with haley) had exploded. you may also want to consider her stunning platinum award winning cover of "can't help falling in love" for extra here: (ruclips.net/video/_uNpEbt7w_o/видео.html ) . she touches the soul like no other and maybe the best vocalist of our time
Thank you!
please react to her cover to "oops I did it again" you'll love it!!!
She sings Mad World with Puddles Pity Party and it is really good also. You should give it a try.
You didn’t enjoy this much, did you?😜 This has been one of my favorites for a while. I love watching the xylophone player, too.
Great job!
Haha thank you!
It doesn’t seem you’ve reacted to PMJ All About That Bass… a must for your list.
I really do like your reactions, it’s obvious how much you enjoyed this! I’m a big fan of PMJ myself but as regards the song I prefer the original nobody could get the same emotions in the song as Gwen Steffani 🥹
Your technical explanation and demonstrations are very good and contribute much towards the recording.
Thank you so much for all the suggestions!! 😊
I can suggest you 'Kaz Hawkins - Feelin good', 'Roxy Perry - House of the rising sun' and 'Meira - Ain't Misbehavin'. If you don't know them, their voices are awsome. Kisses from france
Please please do Seven Nation Army and Dear Prudence with Morgan James next. Pretty please!
The very last part is the saddest part
You're a voice coach! No offense, but I think you're the first person with a British accent I've ever heard call herself that! I live in the Fenway of Boston, MA, USA which is basically the heart of Berklee and Northeastern Conservatory... I've known Haley for some years (and she's never been here) but I'd suggest "All about that Bass" and "Mad World" ...
Lol, when you were mimicking her false low note you sounded exactly like Stewie
Sarah Vaughan "The More I See You" please
Did you notice the black guy on her left? He's pretty awesome.
Another comment, after rewatching your reaction.
To break the tie between Creep and Don't Speak, you must react to Seven Nation Army. Totally different vibe.
Ok..... Seven Nation Army and Black Hole Sun next then see if you can pick a favorite!!🤔
Jamie said Amir sang better. And also react to Amir Masdi's cover - Dipenjara Janji. This malay song is one of the hardest songs to sing.
Quick question, is there a difference between a vocal class video and a reaction video,? I was trying to get to a reaction video
please please please react to PMJ w/ Haley cover of Habits you will lose your mind
Ooh thanks for the suggestions 😁
@@JenniferGlatzhofer you are very welcome 😊
Great video great performance but damn those hips, this woman captivates every reactor I've seen. Jen as usual your brill.
