Remember watching this very highlights episode. Murray's enthusiasm and heart for F1 remains unrivalled
He has a great sucessor: Martin Brundle!
Nice '80s synth music at the end.
In these years, the first thing you actually had to think was that 1,000+ untamed, wild horsepowers were constantly trying killing you...
Thanks for watching!
Megatron :D i'll have to check out what a F1 cockpit looks like nowadays.
It´s really different these days...
@@ourafilmes Yeah all on the wheel
Wonder what Murray would say about a modern F1 car. PU management, DRS and all.. they're pretty much software engineers, aren't they.
Today is too much like computer games. Before there was a clear line between reality and computer games...
@@ourafilmes that's a bit harsh..
@@gvishal9571 If you watch a computer game of the 80s/90s you see what I mean.
@@ourafilmes I remember hearing an interview where Alain Prost said similar about why despite the car being dominant, he didn't enjoy driving the 1993 Williams Renault as all the set up was done with computers and he just didn't enjoy it at all compared with the traditional set up methods he used previously during his career

This Megatron engine is a rebadged BMW I4 turbo right?
I think so but not entirely sure.
Yup it was. It was actually an older spec BMW engine in a regular upright configuration. BMW and Brabham tried a tilted over version with a modified gearbox for the 1986 Brabham, with bad results.
BMW then pulled out of F1 at the end of 1986 and Brabham had to carry on using the tilted powerplant in 1987 while Arrows and Ligier got the 'normal' engine, rebadged as a Megatron.
0:40 the red button right in the middle might be "eject" button in case an accident :)
That´s a bit too 007!!!
Have a nice weekend my friend, greetings
Cheers my friend!
