A Low-code Visual Backend Builder with AI
This tutorial video guides users in building a low-code app combining the powers of BuildShip and Flutterflow. The tutorial focuses on creating a barcode scanning app that allows users to unlock product information like nutritional info and reviews. The tutorial covers building workflows in BuildShip, making API calls, importing data to Flutterflow, and integrating the front-end and back-end of the app. The video is ideal for anyone interested in simplifying their app building process using the low-code capabilities of BuildShip and Flutterflow.

Onboarding like this is more important than anything. Keep up the good work with individual use cases. The more, the merrier since you are showing users the potential of the two apps working in tandem
Thank you :) We are working on more videos and tutorials. Do let us know here or on Discord if there is anything you would like to see. We love the feedback. buildship.com/discord
Make more tutorials like this. Very easy to digest and makes me realise the potential of buildship
Yes. More of these. Far easier to understand.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@unstoppablecroI second this. I actually understand how to use it now and how the whole work flow is supposed to look like without being overloaded with information. Simple and clean and straight to the point
Thanks for the feedback, more of such videos coming soon :) If there is any specific usecase would like to see built out?
@@buildshipappi want to see more production ready apps being built in the same way as this video while breaking the how & WHY lof the project ike you did in this video.
The reason being is that beginners often follow instructions but don't actually understand what they are doing
A lot of tutorials in general create good mimicks but usually don't do much in helping the person following the tutorial understand what exactly they need to do and why they need to do it and how to implement it to their own projects which in turn means they can't apply what they have learnt rendering the tutorial useless.
Maybe start off with something like a crm saas project. Or a content writer (think jasper)
Also try and get some ai based projects both openai and open source. People knowing how to set up and use AI using build ship should bring in a lot of new customers imo.
Maybe how to build a chatgpt clone, an AI business assistant, e-commerce store/app (showing the entire workflow)
One thing I'd like to see as well if feasible is a trading bot. The bull market is coming soon and people are looking for ways to build trading bots easily build ship could be their go to for that potentially.
@@buildshipapp Hey, can we explore FlutterFlow, Buildship, and Supabase in terms of:
1. Authentication (how Buildship should handle Auth with Supabase).
2. Supabase API (similar to what was demonstrated in this video).
3. CRUD functions and logic, for instance, ensuring only the user who created a post can edit and delete it.
I think this would be beneficial for many users. Here's a suggestion: you could turn this into a series. Since this video is already on FlutterFlow, Buildship, and Rowy, you could continue and follow up with Supabase when the series is completed.
I love this explanation, I have been using FlutterFlow and firebase for a while but seeing buildship incorporate all the tool together inspired me to learn it... I need to build apps that incorporate API as the backend
Buildship is what FF needs. No sane person building a legitimate product will put all the logic in the frontend, that's invitation to disaster
Great short tutorial and awesome to see the superb Open Food Facts project featured!!
Yaay! glad you like it :)
You did this in 9 minutes. Meanwhile I been banging my head on the wall trying to figure out how to do an api call on my app the proper way for a few weeks now as a beginner.

@@buildshipapp thank you for the response. I will check in on both options and reach out ty.
more videos like this please
Absolutely! I'm glad you enjoyed this video. we definitely keep making more videos like this in the future.
Awesome video! I am a new subscriber to FlutterFlow and BuildShip, and I was eagerly awaiting a tutorial that demonstrates the entire workflow of creating an application. These two excellent low-code app builders are among the best options to leverage the power of AI to develop solutions for real-world problems. Thank you very much, and please make more videos like this.
Glad you enjoyed it! More such video coming soon :) stay tuned
I'm so glad they heard our cry for tutorials like this
This really blew open everything for me.. Thank you!
So glad to hear that :) Join us on discord in any questions or feedback: buildship.com/discord
My dream combo since buildship has been released (adding Supabase for storage on certain projects)
This is awesome!!!
Thanks for sharing. Please more videos like this, it helps !
Yes more coming soon :) Thanks for your feedback
Please share more videos like this one! Hopefully with FF and Supabase.
Excellent use case!
It's a great tool for Flutterflow app developers
Awesome
Pls do an in-depth buildship tutorial
Thanks for this tutorial. Unfortunately flutterflow does not allow importing API yaml on the free plan. I'm pretty new to no code but could you recommend a way for me to make it work by adding it manually? Any reference docs or articles I could read up?
Also, I couldn't find the exact OpenAI API option. I had to select the text generator option. The UI seems to have changed on buildship.
You can manually add the API , export is just an convenient option. To add it manually copy the API url and go to the API tab of FlutterFlow and add it. Join us on discord if any question and we can help you out: buildship.com/discord
Thanks @@buildshipapp
Thanks for the video! It was very easy to follow and to understand for me as a non programmer.
Do you got any advice on what to do, if "Body JSON" in Flutterflow is "null" although the test API call succeeded? I got every information I wanted in "Raw Body" but I don't know what to put in order to get access to it via "Body JSON".
Thanks!
Make sure your Buildship return node is returning a value, otherwise it will just return "null" back to you.
@@ConnectIOAUI have the same problem and I don't understand how to solve it
@@ConnectIOAU can you share how you to solve it? I have the same problem.
what will be the monthly buildship usage pricing if 1 million scans are made for the above shown barcode app
This workflow takes a few ms to run, so depending on the way you have built your workflow if it takes say for example 200ms to run, then the pro plan of $79 per month is enough - as that gives you 70 execution hours, so with 200ms workflows you can get 1.26M executions!!
i want create more automatitions like save a gold cotization in my firebase with rowy automate daily changes of prices
Wait did Buildship and Rowy merge? Are they one product now?
2 awesome offerings from the same organization i believe
Hi there :) Two seperate products but every BuildShip project comes with a ready to use database that you can now access with a Rowy like table UI.
Rowy is still a good product if you want to manage your data on Firestore database and BuildShip lets you create your entire backend and logic visually. HEre is a video explaning how you can connect BuildShip and Rowy if you want: ruclips.net/video/mkuu_0V8dLw/видео.html
@@buildshipapp awesome thank you!
"The magic of AI" just times out for me so... yeah. The interface for adding new nodes is also different for me, I have no AI option at all until I add a new node and then a I get a little blue magic wand icon. Surprises me considering the video is 10 days old.
Hey! There was a minor bug on this a few days ago and we have fixed the AI node gen now. We are overall improving the UI for searching and node gen to make it even more smooth and good experience for you. Our team building and shipping fast ;)
10000 programmers loss their job every time this video plays
Haha, or more like 10000s of hours of dev saved for programmers so that they are build more better and faster :)
Why don’t you create an end to the end application from scratch to deployment .. just giving some random videos like todo apps don’t give confidence to use your product
Hi there, this is a barcode scanning app example can be part of an app and definitely not the basic todo app :) Is there any specific example nyou would like to see?
too much skipping, too fast, and definitely not beginner friendly, shame on the title
Thanks for the feedback we will create more videos on this at a slower pace. Is there any specific topics that was not clear that you want covered?
The use case seems great and thank you for this video
@@buildshipapp It seems as if the ai generator has changed slightly and has become more difficult to use. Could you give an updated tutorial for the new ai generator please?
