  • 🚀 Want to build your app startup together? Check out Dreams Into Apps: www.ambitiousl...
My name’s Alim and over the last 10 year I’ve build 12+ apps. At age 21 I co-founded SeasonShare, a B2B SaaS for sports ticketing and grew the company from an idea to $10M in revenue. Then I built PrizePicks, the #1 daily fantasy sports app in the USA.
Throughout my career I’ve mentored 100+ early stage startups and angel invested in several.
Now, I’m the founder of Ambitious Labs, the leading no-code app building academy in the world. We’ve trained 450+ entrepreneurs on how to launch their app ideas themselves.
🚫 I’ve spent over $500k+ hiring developers on Upwork/Fiverr just to be ghosted and left with unusable code
🚫 I’ve written code for 15,000+ hours.. Lost sleep, been hospitalized for stress, and suffered extreme mental health issues. TLDR: coding sucks.
🚫 I’ve watched hundreds of founders burn their hard earned cash without validating their idea
🚫 I’ve seen people take out new credit cards to launch an app.. Just to lose it all…
And i do not want the same to happen to you.. Now in the area of no-code and AI, the smartest builders are
✅ Staying in control of their app by building it themselves using No-Code and AI
✅ Focusing on a lean MVP scope to avoid building something no one wants
✅ Following the same framework that billion dollar apps like Duolingo, Calm, Headspace, Tinder and others use to build revenue generating products
Through my failures and wounds - I built a launching acceleration platform called Dreams Into Apps that over 450+ builders are actively using to bring their ideas to life.

Your content has been incredibly impactful for me. I've had a concept for an application in mind for over a year, but as someone with no development background, I struggled to find a way to bring it to life without having to delve too deep into programming. Then I stumbled upon BuildShip and your fantastic tutorial videos. It's safe to say that you've unlocked a door to a new, bright, and thrilling future for me. You are my hero!

That’s awesome. Are you new to coding then and what was the app? Cheers mate 🍻

Hey Alim - Just wanted to thank you for your work on this. I've never coded or built an app before and I was able to use this as the roadmap to build a proof of concept for my first app today! It was a lot of fun and I'm stoked to start fleshing it out from here.
For anyone else who tries to replicate, Buildship has updated the Trigger Editor tool used to add a 'Param' around the ~24:00 mark. It looks totally different and might derail you. To replicate Alim's work, add the 'topic' field under { } Body. So it should look like:
    Request Tab
    Output Heading
    { } Request
    { } Body
    = topic

Amazing to watch, this will create a seismic shift in how apps will be built and shipped in the future. Even more important, the world needs more gifted and engaged teachers like you to lead this revolution.

This is great! Thank you for taking your time and energy to share the info with many of us. The whole thing is quiet new to me, yet I'm very excited to try it out. While following your instructions, I've run into couple issues: Chatgpt does not return any values when I test it under FF ( I've tried with module 3.5 and 4.0), Editing "Rest API Call" under Buildship Freeplan is impossible. I've noticed that you actually changed to paid plan(suddenly you can have max of 20 workflows instead of 5), which makes me think that the Node inputs are available under paid plan. If that the case, it would be great to mention it to the viewers. Nevertheless subscribed :)

Great video and was fun to follow along! I got all the way to the end, with both APIs succeeding, and followed each step, then at the end when I went to build and test the app, it gave me a "NoSuchMethodError : 'toList' Dynamic call of null" error. I've retraced my steps twice and seems it should work. I know there have been new versions since this video, but how can I track this error down? Thanks!

Wouldn't it be better to create / authenticate the new user through an buildship API call, rather than from FlutterFlow to Firebase directly? You mentioned that the Frontend should be as dumb as possible? Just trying to understand which is the best way to sign up new users and how to implement it. Thanks!!

As a real beginner i think your videos are Fab
I have encountered an issue when I'm trying to follow along, when i try to manually set the values in the return node as you do, i open a Json object and as soon as i do i get a yellow triangle and a message saying "the return value must be of type 'string". i thought nothing of this although it doesn't happen in your video, i continued and input in line 2 exactly as you have, only thin to note is unlike in your video where topic stays white the word topic always turns orange,
i tried to ship the work flow as you did but it returns a message :Project manager returned 500: Internal Server Error with no error message. then when i copy and paste into the search bar i get the reply: Workflow not found, make sure you have deployed it with the trigger method set to GET and path set to /topics
could you offer any advise please?
