A major city, full of CCTV, dash cams, ring door bells ect and whomever the SIO is on this MISPER, hasn't established a proper timeline of events. Why isn't Avon and Summersets social media team putting out appeals, press releases and the alike? Where was he last seen? Was he near a body of water, seemingly he may have been, on the footage aired. Why hasn't POLSA been tasked? I'm a DS in the north of England and I'm shocked by the lack of resources thrown at this MISPER.

Now i come across this missing person and find out he was missing months before jay.. i really feel so sorry for members of family that get no attention what’s so ever or help.

I think the police need to scrap this idea of having to wait to be registered as missing. They need to be flexible when it's obviously out of character and I think they need new protocols and training. A woman went missing in our area and it didn't even go on social media for a week. She caught a bus to our town then didn't return home. They started looking in the river but it turned out this elderly lady had got back on the bus to her village and missed the stop. She sadly died trying to walk home. I just couldn't believe the police never checked the bus cctv of the 2 return buses that she would have been on. I imagine Jacks parents are in utter disbelief at the mistakes made and it must be so frustrating and painful for them. People complain about armchair detectives but we see time and time again that the investigations are seriously lacking. I hope some answers come to light
Definitely, the waters should be the main place they should look. When they guy went missing who attacked his wife with acid , they searched part of the Thames and found a different body straight away before they found the guy they were looking for. I watch a program called disappeared which is American , and the ones with lads in their twenties that go missing after a night out is scary , especially when they are all near lakes or rivers. There is even a channel on youtube about river search team who just go out looking , the amount of cars they have found with bodies in of people who went missing decades ago is amazing , even high profile murder cases they have found the victims. It would be amazing if we had people do the same here

@@janeburke147 assuming he was drunk and fell in the river is what the Police did and why they don't give a damn. Except in the CCTV videos he walks fine, doesn't look drunk and nobody between his friends said he drank too much.
Also his phone was active until early morning at a specific address.

It amazes me how these news channels will make famous one case but other missing people are forgotten about or not reported on at all. Look at the jay slater case, they found the body of a british man that went missing in the area but wasnt reported on in the uk as missing, there are lots of missing people from Britain and in britain but the media chooses what to make famous and push to the forefront of everyones attention
Because Jay Slater was such a polarising figure, behaving badly abroad, from a certain "class" and history, and he got everyone bitching and arguing. Tells you what you need to know about profit making media, and the police. It's vile.

They need to release the video footage of all the cctv.. not just the still images. That may well jog the memory of anyone in the area at the time that may have seen something. This is so heartbreaking, we are all praying for Jack & all those affected!
