  • I'm going to show you some new tricks for an underground buried downspout system. We have a new downspout kit that is like no other. We have reinvented a few components. Notice how the leaf filter and the Riser come down the wall of the house. When they go underground that fitting is not a true 90 it's not quite a 90. You can see how it automatically puts the correct slope on the line to the catch Basin. This kit scored 10 out of 10 when reviewed by contractors.

    Should I level my yard before or after installing a French drain? I think I know the answer but I rather hear from the pros💪!!
    Thanks

      You can grade 1st and have a defined swale to run the French Drain in. Water will always go to the lowest point in the grade. If the whole yard is completely flat, you have no hope of gathering the water. If you do that, you're gonna have to run a French drain grid, and it's gonna take 10 times the pipe, labor, and expense.

    Why two popups on one run? My theory is the first one is mainly to collect shingle gravel and provide a removal point close to start of run. The second is where you hope most of the runoff exits.

    Awesome videos....how deep and wide is the trench? I have a storm drain on my property my town is allowing me to connect two gutters into. Going to try and tackle this job myself and rent a sod cutter. My property has a nice slope already too!

    Is the black corrugated pipe connected to the clean out/leaf filter a 4”? I’d love to use your clean out if I can use 3” corrugated off of it. I’m curious why the bottom of the leaf filter isn’t 3” like the rest of the kit.

      You described our "KIT 10"
      3 in. Buried Underground Downspout Kit for DIYers
      frenchdrainman.com/product/3-in-buried-downspout-kit/
      THIS IS EASIER TO INSTALL
      The big advantage to the PRO KIT with the 3" Plus pipe is higher flow on long gutter runs with 3"x4" Downspouts and the "FDM Not Quite a 90°" makes it easier to push a garden hose through. But it's not a skill level 1 kit like our "KIT 10."

    How many feet of 3” pipe is included in the kit ?

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  2 месяца назад +2

      24 feet of pipe. The basin and fittings give you another 1.5 feet.

    What 4” to 3” reducer did you use? Will that fitting work with high octane blue pipe?

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  2 месяца назад

      The 3" Blue is Extra Heavy Duty and take the 3x4 reducer in our online store. The 3" plus kit is heavy duty, and the 3x4 it comes with the kit is different in size.
      So, in short, if you have the Blue 3" the 3x4 sold separately in our online store fits.

    Do you need a true slope to the trench or just generally lower than the downspot

      We set the pipe at the downspout as high as we can that way, we can create slope even on a flat yard.

    i have question about how american house drainage outlet pipe are built..are most/least landed/terrace house arent connected to the outside drainage/any drainage by city for water flow movement?..

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  2 месяца назад

      No, because our infrastructure can not handle storm water. They want to lose as much of the storm water as they can over greenbelt areas. We have to build like this.

    Is it possible to connect the downspouts from both the front and back of the house, so that there is only one discharge output??

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN
      @FRENCHDRAINMAN  2 месяца назад

      Yes. We will run 2 downtowns on 1 3" main line. Once we go to a third downspout, we want it on a four inch main line.
