If I was the neighbor I’d be paying for half the service and I’d tie in my yard as well.
Beautiful work
I'm only a couple of minutes into this video, but I can tell you that it's really really instructive to go with you and your camera as you quickly do a walk through and point to things and say what you want. It shows us how your brain works, which teaches us to trust our instincts.
Can’t wait to see the follow up when it’s raining

I'd actually like to see this one. That's a lot of water going down!
I’m using your products, watched almost every video to DIY a french drain in Texas. I’m doing 100ft each side of my house. Did the first side last year and doing the other side right now. The french drain works better now than last year. Digging rocky/clay soil (200ft in total) by hand using a pickaxe is painful but almost done!
Some things are worth paying for. You could rent a trencher and have the hole dug in 3 hours. If it's rocky it is worth paying someone with a skid steer to dig it in one day.
@@Happydad491 yes, of course I checked that. Trencher is a no go due to sprinkler, gas, fiber cables underneath even after getting them marked. Also they don’t provide enough width and create a massive mess (pile of dirt) afterwards. Some rocks as big as over 12” wide, heavy as 30-40lbs were dug out.
Skid steer doesn’t work due to fences between both side of neighbors’ houses. Most new subdivisions in Texas only have 10-12ft between houses so these equipment don’t fit unless I take down fences (HOA issue, need agreement from many parties, cost to take down and replace). Yeah, every digging, landscaping contractor turned down the job around the area unless I take down fences.
The passion you have for your system, the work being done is 2nd to none, congrats
Thank you 😊
Nice work! How about a follow up video during a heavy rain

Awesome tutorial. Thank you. Do it right the first time, that’s what you guys do, ALWAYS!!
Awesome breakdown on the system!
In a situation like this it's a shame the guy next door doesn't pitch in a few bucks to have the two downspouts on his house caught and thrown into the discharge. Great video and install.
Love your work and your attention to detail. 😎
That looks like it'll work! Lot of water the yard takes in.
You are GREAT! Thanks for sharing. What tape do you use for the joints?

Would a deep ditch/trench with a surface drain work the same as a covered French drain ie capture water below grade due to depth of ditch but also surface because of grate?

What type of tape is that ? Used at all connectors

Question, and apologies in advance if you showed it in the video and I missed it. I know you ran the solid pipe into the storm drain at the street, but what did you do with the end of the perf-pipe that is acting as your french drain? I didn't see where it ended on the side of the house or if it ran to the street as well or did you eventually tie the 2 perf-pipes into the solid pipe to get that water to the storm drain as well? Thanks!!

This video shows the connection
Another awesome install! Would a turf restrictor plate ever be needed (do they even make them?) for the 4'' and 6'' inlets and cleanouts?
Yes, we have turf plates if we feel we need them.
In Canada. We have a marsh right behind our house and soil is constantly saturated and very high water table. What is the solution to tackle this? Would this work?

I live on a hill. How do I fix a new, steep slope, concrete driveway that is washing out on its edges? I live in Western PA. on soil that is clay. Will a French Drain along its edges fix the washout problem? I have been advised to wait five months until Fall to plant grass. Spring rains wash away grass seed and fertilizer.
You have to meander the driveway. You literally have to move your driveway. Water wants to run in a straight line. So if you meander the driveway, you won't have nearly the problem with washout. I've seen this many times. To leave it the way it is, you have to put in large stones, what's known as riprap.
Can anyone tell me what are the specs on the best fabric you should be using for this? You see so many different types and lowes or Home Depot cheap junk. Wondering what’s the spec on the best type.

@@FRENCHDRAINMAN thank you sir
Do you ever do work in illinois?
There's a guy in your state who buys a lot of pipe from us. We always refer him. You have to call our main office at 248-505-3065.
I’m surprised you didn’t recommend turf restricter plates. Why is that?
These are 6" grates, not 4" grates. The turf restrictors that you've been seeing are on 4-inch grates.
BTW, turf plates for 6" will be available in early July. 🤫
Would love to have seen that water coming from the common area going into the sewer.

I love the math. 440 gallons/min. Gimme the math!
