As was commented, Emma's gastroparesis means that she has 2 hours a day when she's free from the tubes and pumps, so she chooses the events and songs that she's going to be involved with very carefully, and that means she doesn't do songs that don't appeal to her. Andre Rieu said in July at the Vrijthof when he introduced her to perform that first delivery of Voila in the version they'd put together, he said 'She wants to be a singer'. I think we can absolutely agree that she's already more than delivered on that desire, she is an incredible singer, no matter what the genre, this version of Hallelujah goes a long way to show that, and then you can add the songs she did with Andre at Christmas 'White Christmas', started a capella with no assist note or introduction, and 'All I want for Christmas is you', among others, and her stunning duet of Voila with Helene FIscher on her Christmas show. What's become so evident is that Emma is so far above her dream of being a singer, the next level above singer is performer, and she's more than aced that, and after a performer, you get a performer that can also act the song visually, and she has no trouble there, and to top it out, and I don't have a word to describe this, when she's effectively LIVING the songs she performs, which she does so powerfully, her whole being is involved, her eyes, her emotions, her whole body is absolutely involved, and then to cap that, she is willing to let the audience into her life, she exposes her vulnerability, without looking for any sympathy or allowances, and lets everyone see just how much being able to sing like she does really means to her, and it gives her the ability to get right into the depths of the hardest heart, and having got there, she then thrills that heart, and lifts it, and there are very few artistes that have this level of ability, and to have this degree of ability at the age of 15 is so rare, and so special, and we're already seeing, this is only the beginning, I am sure she will become even more of a bright shining star with the love, encouragement and support she will get from Andre and the extended family that is the orchestra. I'm very happy that she's well and truly under Andre's wing for this coming year, it will allow her to soar to heights that even she may not have realised she's capable of, Andre has seen it, and he will also be able to protect her from the vultures who would seek to exploit Emma's incredible talent and skills, even better is that Emma has got close to his heart, and the relationship between them is so strong, and powerful, I won't be surprised if she is with Andre for a lot longer than just a year, but time will tell. I close with a plea to all your readers, Please, if you can, join me in making a (regular) donation to Emma's foundation, gastrostars.nl They are a possible source of treatment or even a cure for people like Emma, it would be a tragedy if Emma had to stop singing because her gastroparesis had become worse, and her foundation may be the way that new treatments or a cure can be found, one of the key members of the team is a surgeon who worked at the Maastricht hospital, she also has gastroparesis herself, and she has been forced to give up her work at the hospital because of a deterioration of her health, so her focus now is the foundation, and with her knowledge, her input will be vital. It would be so good to hear that they have made some breakthrough that will enable Emma to be free to do what she is so good at, it would mean that her other dream could also become reality, with all she's been through in her short life, that would be so good.
Damn, now that is by far the best description of Emma’s talent that I have seen in the comments from any of Emma’s song reviews, and that includes some you have posted elsewhere. I personally believe Emma has a God-given talent that she has finessed with a lot of effort into -- no need to repeat, you have said it in your comment. I know she has a profound impact on the listener of her voice. I believe she changes listeners into better souls, both cognitively and behaviorally.

Your last sentence, so true, I know Emma got deep into my life the first time we heard her, Andre's summer concert in the cinema, Voila on a large screen, and with surround sound a fraction of a decibel below pain levels, we didn't so much hear it as FEEL it, and I don't mind admitting, it went deep, and has stayed there, there was an empty space deep in me and Emma fitted very well, and I very much like the effect she's had on me, and at 72, that's not an easy or light admission to make, there's no two ways about it, Emma is a very special individual, unique in so many ways, and the more I see, the more I like what I see, she truly is so good and that's what encourages me to make the comments I do, and to try and encourage people to support her foundation, hopefully with a good result for her life. I am so looking forward to the live concert in Dublin in May, we'd already booked before the announcement that Emma was part of the tour, and that made my day, we've got good seats, and seeing and hearing her live will be special.
