I and many I know have been doing this forever, just without the additional hour of work needed to lay down a full wood grid. all you need to do is prep the area and pick your level spot as you did here but then just work outward slowly from that spot using the fill and flatten method. its NEVER gonna be utterly perfectly flat, this isn't minecraft.
You're right, it won't get perfectly flat because its not Minecraft. But, when I need stuff to be flat I still can't get it to be as flat as I would've without the wood guide cause I wouldn't know what spots needed to be lifted up or down. I use the grid method when I make farms or outside areas that I want to be flat dirt.

Good tip - I think getting the ground flat is the hardest thing in Valhiem - so many wonky smelters! 🙈
Thank you. I normally just use stone building for the floor but, I found a way to flatten ground better because I wanted a flat farm.
Super handy tip thanks!
You are welcome, I'm glad I could help.
Good tip! Gonna try this out tonight
Do it! Anakin.
