I put a bunch of my Insta360 files directly onto the Quest 3 simply by plugging in the USB-C port and selecting ALLOW in the headset. The Quest shows up in File Explorer and you can just drag files over. Never had to enable Developer mode. One side note, if you have setup the Quest to connect to the desktop Oculus app, you have to disable that first or it won't show up as a media device when you plugin the USB.
It's really too bad there's not an insta 360 app for quest 3. I would love to use my headset to edit the videos for export to RUclips although I'm not sure how the UI might function.
The trick for RUclips is easy. Export in 8K, load as hidden video. The upscaling looks way better, less hoops to jump through. No need to create a Dev account or download any extra things. Much simpler.
@@UHFStation1 YT def does 8K. Your device might not support it but there are videos in 8k HDR for sure. Search “Peru 8k in Chrome on a compatible computer (I have a 14” MacBook Pro) and you can choose 8k HDR.
Hello, I have a question related to 360 photos. I own insta360 1 inch and I keep taking good quality images and post the in Google as 360 photo. What confused me is the post quality is not that good, although there are other 360 photos posted in Google with outstanding quality. Do you know what is the issue...
Having a really hard time getting my 8k, 3D 360 file to just play when side loaded into headset. Tried it on both my Quest 2 & 3 and both just show the file. It'll open it when clicked but nothing happens, simply shows the name of the file as it refuses to play. A bit frustrated. Searched high and low and nothing online seems to target the issue. File specs: H264 HIGH10 400bpm mp4 Any advice or help would me really amazing. Dunno what else to do. trying to have it playback as amazing as it can given it's for a festival screening.
Hello, i have insta 360 rs one inch and i record in 6k and when i transfer my 360 video in 6k full resolution to quest 3 its look bad and not clear!! is there a ways to make it look better and watch it in better resolution ?
Another excellent presentation…thankyou! I’m obviously behind the wave (again) because it was only an hour ago I began to ponder this type of possibility… now it is real!!!
Cheers! thanks for breaking this down, this is helpful! My footage coming off insta360 RS ONE 1" looks at least decent on any screen but the Quest 3 (only VR headset at my disposal). Is it the setting I use or why does the 360° video look so crappy when experienced through the Q3? Close up things look almost over sharpened and stuff farther away unclear and partially soft. I was wondering if it just is like this? Any thoughts?
Hello Ben, thank you for your tutorials. I’m looking for a kiosk mode application that is supported by the Meta Quest 3. Thank you for your suggestions.
how's the quality of the experience in this quest 3 goggles? when you watch videos from insta360 one ? is it immersive? if i would record some video from a trip and then show it to my friends, would they like it?
I would love to share stereoscopic 180 or 360 videos that I've filmed with my 75 year old dad who owns a Meta Quest 2 and lives 1000 miles away, but there is no easy solution. RUclips really is the closest option but the quality is poor. Does Skybox allow easy sharing of videos without uploading them locally?
Thank you for this Ben. I was able to relive a vacation and some other special moments like my daughter's 5th grade _'graduation'_ too. I hope maybe x5 is two Insta360s mashed together and is able to record stereoscopic videos in 360 degrees. If that becomes a thing, I would then record 100% of all videos using that device. Everything else would just be inferior.
Nice video and thank you! I would need help to create “Video 3D SBS Half” for uploading to RUclips, I have them in version “Video 3D SBS Full” which program can do this conversation? Does it exist free? Thank you bye!
is there possible to put you video on googles and when you watch it in googles the small video apears in the main video and you watch it,is it possible?
Nice video and this is being exactly done by me. But Insta 360 cameras and Meta quest being a single parent products they should come up with an application to stream without any of these efforts for better user experience. when we are able to stream the video on mobile app connecting to camera. it should be possible with quest headsets too technically

Thinking about buying a Quest3, but I was curious if it's possible to record video with the passthrough or other tool on the Quest3? Say I want to make a video of playing with my dog or doing a house walkthrough like maybe a GoPro, does it have that capability? Seems like if I was going to share with the Quest 3 it may be easier to take a video with the Quest 3 to begin with. Doesn't need to be 360 video.
