Sadly, that's pretty much how it was for me living in my mom and stepdad's house. I won't give details but let's just say that it pretty much destroyed my self-confidence and made me feel worthless. I agree, it's sad that not only is Missy used to the fighting, but looks like she's actually enjoying this one. Mandy is a real piece of work. 😒 Georgie is trying to be responsible and caring, and Mandy is being a jerk.

They should’ve just named this show The Coopers (even if it is a corny title like The Conners). Sheldon’s story lines are pretty much dull now that he’s graduated.
Yeah and I think the writers know it because the focus seems to be less on Sheldon and more on the other characters.
The problem is also that there is no real room for growth for Sheldon anymore. We know how he is at the beginning of TBBT and frankly young Sheldon already seems more mature and well adjusted compared to his adult counterpart at the beginning of that show.
Although I understand why Mandy is upset, I feel bad for Georgie bc he genuinely cares about Mandy and the baby and wants to help out but Mandy keeps pushing him away
Feels weird cuz 2 episodes ago she admitted that he was pretty much the best thing in her life atm and now she’s back to ostracizing him

Pity party is all she has going for her, so she keeps falling back to it. Both parties are equally responsible for the existense of mandy being pregnant. She was a willing participant in the act and in current times, she could be arrested for sex with a minor depending on thelaw. Happens often enough with men getting 17yr olds pregnant, it can go both ways, even if the minor lied about their age and had a fake id. Agree that if you do your due dilligence, ask age and check their licence, that should make the matter void if they lied

I agree with George sr , when me and my siblings hit the teenager mark. My mom felt unwanted and didn’t feel like a mom anymore. Plus her and my dad weren’t getting along so she thought a baby would fix it. My dad basically said what George said. Babies aren’t the answer to everything
As soon as I popped out my second baby, hubby and I both agreed that a vasectomy would be a responsible decision.

@@sanhcman666 Good luck with that! Custody cases are more often than not done in favor of the woman, and George Sr is only working part time. Also, the family is running out of money right now. A divorce would only escalate the situation further.

This show is better than the Big Bang Theory which was a Great show. 😂 I thought it would be stupid, boy was I wrong. I’ve only seen 4 episodes. I can’t wait to start from the beginning.

I feel so bad for Georgie, Mandy is so mean to him. He does so amazing. I would want him around all the time. Also sad that Missy is uncomfortable around loving parents but at home with fighting. I feel that. It's not healthy. That's what it was like for me growing up too. Ugh.
I know people are annoyed that Mandy won't get with the program and agree to be a happy little family, but I get it, to be honest. Her lie about her age was not even a little bit equivalent to his. She made herself a couple of years younger, yes, but she was still an adult. He is a minor. I would also be quite angry if a teenage kid had tricked me into sleeping with them and got me pregnant. And I think it does make a difference. I think, if she HAD gotten pregnant by an ill-advised stunt with a 21-year old, she might not have liked it, but she probably would have given the relationship a shot. His age does make the difference here.
And people are saying she is not taking any of the blame, but I mean - she is accepting responsibility for her actions. She is keeping the child, which is affecting her far more than him. He could leave the situation. She can't. So what she is NOT obligated to do is to date Georgie just because he now has a tie to her. She is clear about her wishes, even though she is very blunt. He is just ignoring her.
If genders were flipped he would be in jail even back then lmfao

@@commanderbeast Georgie is a good kid, no argument there. He's just not very mature yet, so sometimes it feels like he's treating the whole situation like a game, not like something life changing. And there are times where it feels like he uses the baby as a prop or excuse to get close to Mandy and press her for more intimacy, like when he stops by her house in an obvious attempt to manufacture a date. I'm not saying that his heart isn't in the right place, but seems Mandy is using her directness as a defense because she knows that when she gives an inch he will take a mile. Subtle is not working with that boy.
I like Georgie a lot. But it feels that people liking Georgie as a character leads to Mandy being unfairly judged, because we want to see him rewarded for his efforts, and she's not playing along by giving in to him. Mandy is certainly not perfect here, but people seem way less willing to overlook her flaws compared to Georgie. But all in all, what's probably most jarring to me is that the show is both trying to work up a serious issue and still keep Georgie as part of a comedic show with lots of quibs and one-liners, so that's throwing me off as well.

Even though he is trying to be ‘helpful’ he is still taking things lightly and joking, she is keeping him at arms length to protect herself and the baby because she may not see him as an adult. How can she have a relationship with someone who is a child?

I think the best response would be to point out she would still be in this situation if he had been 21 like he said, her family didn't even know he was only 17 at this point, and seeing as she was 100% consenting and mostly came onto him and knew what the consequences would be, she ruined her own life
The only thing different would be if Georgie was actually 21 was they'd both live happily.
Mandy is having acceptance issue here. I don't think the character regrets having a baby it's that the baby daddy is 17 and she cannot change that for life now. 😁
But honestly no doubt Geogie is way more capable than his age suggests. ❤️

Idk I think she feels violated because of the fact that it was a lie because otherwise she wouldn't have slept with him at all...his justification that she was hot and that was why he lied really supports her anger against him because she was nothing more than a good lay for him. Also there seems to still be a lack remorse and understanding from him as to why she's pissed at him. He's treating their relationship like they were dating and they just broke up but no he lied and she felt violated and humiliated from it. I'm sorry I'm just not sympathetic to Georgie at all. The moment that he lied to her just to get a lie kind of cemented my dislike for him and I actually initially liked this character since he seemed to have been changing to a good and caring older brother and son; and the fact that Big Bang Theory hinted that he had to step up when his dad died. He seemed like a good person
