    EDIT - EGG SIZE IS ACTUALLY 'SPECIAL', frikkin editing program not refreshing my changes....

    Feel free to ask questions, I *think* I've covered everything but if not I'll help where I can!
    All values shown/mentioned should be on official, 1x rates. Information pulled directly from the devkit and tested exhaustively. I am still a novice when it comes to understanding Unreal, so there is potential mistakes, but so far all seems accurate.
    And now... I rest 🧡

      So by "special" you mean it makes Extraordinary Kibble, because that's what I've been using them for. Not sure if they lay faster than Yutys or not, but I replaced my egg yutys with Ceratos because they're smaller.

    • @freynlives
      @freynlives  7 месяцев назад

      Exactly :) "Special" eggs make extraordinary. Generally most creatures create the kibble they eat, there's a few exceptions but it's normally accurate.

      @@full8497 I've actually been snatching any female wild babies to use for my Kibble farm whenever I see them because like you said, they're smaller than Yutys, and also because the stats/level doesn't matter when their entire job is laying unfertilized eggs.
      Maybe when I get around to breeding up an army of them I'll swap the low level kibble farm Ceratos out for obsolete breeders to make it less likely they die if something somehow ends up getting into the farm and attacking them, but that's a ways off right now.

      @freynlives we ark nerds appreciate all the detail that we can'tfind elsewhere. If you're worried that it will send some people away, maybe structure it more so you upfront the tldr and then put all the in depth stuff after.

      I conducted a poll recently on that idea and the result seems to be to keep it all in it's relevant section, I've tried to get the best of both worlds here with a simple taming guide first, but it's going to take a while to find the ideal format I think :)
      I just hope the next is a bit quicker, altho I'll always need to wait for devkit :(

    Man you really went in depth on this guy. Me personally, I am glad to have them in the game and can’t wait to take on of my own, also as always you did an amazing job on this guide and can’t wait for your other guides.
    Also I wonder how far you can catapult yourself if you attacked a group of ceratas with a cerata

    Where did you find the collision radius for dinos for the drunk math? I'd like to see the full list if possible!

    • @freynlives
      @freynlives  4 месяца назад +1

      I had to pull them directly from the game files, I admit showing the entire formula is a bit awkward really as it's unlikely anyones going to actually be able to put the numbers in, but I think it helped to illustrate that there's actual numbers behind it, rather than simply saying "bigger = better" and leaving it at that :)

    • @asmallrabbit
      @asmallrabbit 4 месяца назад

      @@freynlives Nah i think it's great knowing the mechanics/formula behind it. I was just hoping for a list of all the dinos values so i could compare with what i had good saddles for and would be the best to tame with.

    • @freynlives
      @freynlives  4 месяца назад +1

      I don't have a full list sadly :( I tried to pull out things that I knew would be differently sized to give a comparison, or things I knew would be used a lot (e.g the Daeodon)
      The funny thing is that because it's based on # of hits, it actually goes up faster by having other creatures attacking too. So you could in theory get 1 Cerato and then 15 jerboa attacking you and it'd still help :D

    Fantastic guide but one thing that easily gets overlooked and you should include into these guides is what kibble tier the creatures eggs make

    • @freynlives
      @freynlives  7 месяцев назад +4

      That is included in the basic info section, altho checking it now I realise I've forgotten to hit save at some point, as it says Superior, it actually makes Special. >.

      @@freynlivesShoot my apologies! I listen to these in the background so it was missed. Still, there was an issue on said topic lol but you good and you're aware. Still, superb guide and very well made!

      Hehe, I understand :) I'm trying to find a balance between information and not making the videos overly long, so sometimes things get put on screen without mentioning it directly.
      I know I saw it during editing and changed it to the proper Kibble type, but it's clearly not saved/loaded the updated version before the render :( One day, everything will go as planned!!

    • @rhettbutler5397
      @rhettbutler5397 7 месяцев назад

      @@freynlives It be like that lol! But I'd say you have a very solid foundation of both information and video length. So I think you'll do excellently for future vids

    Until now, I had no idea that the Cerato didn't fight the medium carnivores that's in its team tier... especially to extinction levels. Will make sure to kill or tame any Cerato that I can find now.

    • @freynlives
      @freynlives  7 месяцев назад +1

      Even back in ASE I'd always found Ceratos were slowly overtaking my map and had wondered why, many told me it overspawned, but on SE I noticed things just straight up ignoring it as it munched away and started digging!

  • @RikkuEcRud
    @RikkuEcRud 3 месяца назад

    I've got to wonder, with the ability to heal other carnivores, which I'm assuming the AI _will_ use, what the optimal ratio of Ceratos to Rexes would be for a boss fight, particularly a solo player boss fight where they have to ride the Yuty to manage its roars and don't have a teammate to manage Daeodon heals.

      Mentioned it briefly, but:
      The Island - Purple/yellow/red becaons, underwater/underwater cave crates.
      Scorched - Dune crates
      Both - Treasure maps
