Those were great JUSTIN. HENIN days …..unforgettable. …..my fav . Justin Henin❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇮🇳
Justine Henin produces beautiful combination of power n precision. She is an artist on court.☺️
Like a female Roger Federer style of game.

Amazing at what she does . I don't think her strokes are comparable to fed at all. But what does that mean anyway! Just great to watch her take scalps with her massive bhand!
Beautiful tennis. Justine is one of my favorite players ever.
The Roger Federer of the women's game.

Henin was truly an artist...and despite packing an enormous punch with a slight frame, never needed to scream after every shot.
Favourite female tennis player of the last 20+ years
She screamed but nothing came out!
Roger Federer / Justin Henin , the tennis was art.
Justlying Henin "packed an enormous punch with a slight frame" because she was on performance enhancers. She also Finally admitted what millions of viewers could see: That she cheated against Serene in that infamous French Open match. I'd rather hear "screaming" in a match than see brazen cheating! Btw, Serena had a proven better backhand than Justine. Serena officially hit more backhand winners than the alleged back-hand "specialist," Justlying Henin.
performance enhancers - where is your evidence
Henin was a superb player and athlete and as described an artist
pound for pound the best ever
@@sieraclayton1503 Let it go, Serenafan. let it go. Serenafans are the worst kind of fans one could ever stumble upon on the net. Vicious, loud and zero class.
Henin's footwork & speed is just incredible
There are few that gave Serena problems. Justine was one of them. They had some classic matches!!
Yeah true 💯
meh, this year Serena was her own problem, she got cocky after winning Miami and thought that she could show up and win any tournament and basically said as much in press. Meanwhile, Rodriguez had Justine going through intense trainings after she lost to Serena in Miami. The trainings were so intense that she was crying during them. So Justine's success against Serena is partly an increase in her level and a descrease in Serena's training.
@@co9971 Yes, Serena obviously decided to lose. If she hadn't decided, she wouldn't have lost
@@co9971 Maybe. Maybe not. Serena was handled with no issues this time.
gave her problems through cheating and ugly French and Brit crowds backing her and being ugly to Serena..Justine is no match to Serena in her top form,
Justine Henin's backhand is the most beautiful backhand I've seen in tennis.

Love Justine's game. My favorite women's player ever.
Me too
Me too
glad she's gone
I am one the biggest Serena fans ever.... but from a tennis standpoint, Justine was BEAUTIFUL to watch. The backhand; the inside-out; the torque... Serena has always dominated with very simple strokes, simple strategy, nothing fancy tennis-wise, just a solid power game. But Justine....she had all the fancy. Female Federer. And yet more magical to watch than Fed imo because she did it with SUCH a small frame. Without question, the most impressive women's player i've ever witnessed, pound-for-pound (or kg-for-kg).
Marion Bartoli is a better Tennis player than Justin Henin and Serena Williams.
Two great players. Wonderful match and spirit from both players. Thrilling to watch and re-watch. Excited that Clijsters is coming to the US Open!
Barty, Henin, Mauresmo, Novotna, Navratilova, Mandlikova, Goolagong, King etc.
Beautifully gifted natural players.
Henin's backhand, like Barty's slice, often drew gasps of awe from the crowd.
Henin v Williams was a *real* rivalry, unlike the so called "rivalry" between Williams and the one dimensional Sharapova.
Although a lot of people call Henin a "clay court specialist," she was *so* much more than that.
An all court player, she was, like Mauresmo able to adapt her game to grass and their 2006 Wimbledon Final was like "throwback" tennis, a delight to watch and I didn't know who to root for.
Such a pity she never actually won at Wimbledon.
Why is Barty among these?
In another chapter from the relics from the old world: THAT Backhand!!! I mean, the world of tennis lost a lot when Henin retired. I remember watching this after the infamous leg cramp of Serena. This match is serve vs. backhand, gold tennis here from Wimbledon 07 (no roof because it was the year before the new roof).
Justine's forehand is always underratted it was actually powerful she dictated the play with her wonderful versetile forehand she's powerful on both forehand and backhand both wings it's really tough to play such players
On a per-kg basis or something, Justine is the best ever. She extracted 110% from her body to get that serve and power. Plus her amazing talent as well - much missed in today's WTA.
And on a per-reality basis, Serena is the greatest female tennis player of all time, while Henin isn't in the top 10.
Probably with help from drugs
@@regulusarcturus Of course, considering the longevity of Serena's career and the numerous titles she amassed, no one can deny that Serena is the greatest female tennis player of all time. Justine's career was much shorter, hampered by injuries, illness and motivational issues. But despite her small stature, she was able, thanks to her unparalleled technique, to rival more powerful players like the Williams sisters. In tennis literature, Justine Henin is often cited among the ten greatest female tennis players of all time. All it takes is an objective view to look at things. Serena's the greatest, but Justine's refined tennis makes her one of the greatest as well and is much more fun to watch than Serena's power tennis.
Regulus Arcturus I know I love the “per-kg basis” note as if at the end of the day extracting the most power out of your body is what determines who’s subjectively and objectively the greatest. It is very impressive the style of game that Justine used to achieve great wins, but it does not place her above someone else who was taller, faster, or stronger who won more titles just because they had greater advantages. I still think she doped, her retiring as number one in the world on the eve of the French while heading into her best major and what many consider her “home” major having grown up not far in Brussels, just always rubbed me the wrong way. She gives me very strong Lance a Armstrong vibes.
@@johnn.5033 its a known fact within the tennis circles (inside knowledge) that she was caught doping and she was given an ultimatum by WTA. She jumped before she was pushed.
My favorite rivalry, now this is tennis. Love it when they battled
Beautiful, efficient footwork, visually pleasing strokes plus super racquet-head speed, and a versatile, all-court game. The WTA has not seen anyone this brilliant since Justine retired.
At the time no one would have guessed this would be Henin’s last great year.
This Chanel can’t get enough of the Williams sisters I see. It’d be nice to see a few more wins of theirs instead of just the loses.
Hopefully they’ll save that for the final two rounds.
Serena v Venus 2003 & 2009 Finals would be awesome
they literally just premiered venus’ win over hingis.
Keegan Thorpe Oh, Boo Hoo.
I had forgotten just how good Henin ‘s backhand was. More potent then her forehand. I could just watch her for that BH Alone . Serena and her were alot alike. Talented , driven, and Uber competitive. Venus is more like Kimmie. Talented , graceful, and nice . Both so good
Thanku Wimbledon upload more and more legendary matches
Justine Henin I liked her one handed back hand

@Tim Timote I preferred by far Amelie Mauresmo 's backhand...pure extension of her arm and she makes it look easy. AGA RADWANSKA had a pretty good arsenal of chiseled unbelievable angles and ability to return any shot from any sized opponent.

Justine was really Serena's greatest rival
@@anthonyyusef5897 Agreed and people forget she was the only player to really have Serena's number at a certain period of time ever.
Anthony Yusef - Nope, it is her sister Venus Williams
whats interesting is that serena would always beat henin 2 times a in a row
but 2007 really hurt serena where she had 3 consecutive losses to henin. that hurt the head to head
And give serena credit , she has a +ve or equal to head to head against her chief rivals. she always finds a a way.
Good to see this match again. I think that was the year Justin owned Serena. Too bad that Justin retired at such an early age. Justin and Kim were the tennis jewels and pride of a tiny nation.
Henin has never owned Serena Williams
@@keithpugh7538 Serena is 8-6 in their rivalry. In 2007 Justine beat Serena in all 3 slams they played each other in that year. I wouldn't say either player owned the other though.
@@keithpugh7538 She owned her that year, not all her career obviously.
well Serena came back from 0-6 in the Miami final that year to take the title. But yes in the final 3 slams of the year, Henin was at her career best and Serena was overweight and had no answers physically or tactically. I would put an asterisk that this Wimbledon win was a fluke given Serena had a tear in her calf AND a thumb injury where she had to hit one handed backhands and slice which are not her normal shots. Plus Henin choked in Wimbledon semis as, she herself admitted, she was afraid to face Venus in the finals. Henin never proved to be an all court player as she failed to win Wimbledon even once; Serena winning 7 times at Wimbledon
She didn’t “retire” per se, she quit because she knew there was no future in the game for her. Serena & Venus redefined the game to the point where players like henin became instantly obsolete. Graph came to the same conclusion: Better to run away than to face annihilation.
Henin has the best and the most beautiful back hand.
Justine... she had every shot and every tactic in her arsenal..., imho the most complete player of the past 20ish years
Mauro C she came into Wimbledon 07 off the back of her second Eastbourne title so she was playing well at this time
Justine really had Serena's number that year- they played in 3 straight Grand Slam quarter finals- Justine winning all three- this was the closest- the other 2- the French and US Open were both straight set wins for Justine.
Well that's one way to look at it.
Henin had a 3-2 record over Serena from February 2007 until March 2008, the best 13 month span of Henin's career in which she won 12 titles and had a 93% win rate.
Serena on the other hand had a 78% win rate in those 13 months, only her 17th best season on tour. She was also injured at both Wimbledon and the US Open.
So Henin at her absolute peak had a 3-2 record against a subpar Serena in her 17th best year.
@@regulusarcturus Funny how she's always injured when she loses.
@@regulusarcturus Well, Henin was in the worst shape of her life in 2008 and the year before she choked terribly in that Miami match.
Jeremy Redding no but she was very injured after RG of this year.
@@PoetryInMotionXxXx She wasn't in "the worst shape of her life" in 2008. She had 15 wins and 2 losses prior to her match with Serena in Miami 2008 including 2 titles in Sydney and Antwerp.
Also, how did Henin choke the 2007 Miami final? Serena saved both match points by being aggressive and just raised her level and took the match away from her.
@Wimbledon Please post Henin vs. Bartoli 2007 Wimbledon Semi full match plz! That was a famous match.
artist on court, its sad that she retired so early. I wish she plays again, she can win slams at 40 years age too.
Que maravilla volver a ver a Justine Henin
Class act Justine.
mental toughness...Justine willed herself not to be intimidated by Serena whose mere presence on the court is enough to intimidate others to the point of losing even before the match has started.
appalling 1st serve pct but won commandingly. i remember this match but am happy to see it again. thx for posting
Justine was the total package, great footwork, speed, beautiful groundstrokes, especially that backhand........just a wonderful player. she always gave Serena fits.......i miss her.
Greatest One handed backhanders are The GOAT, RF & Justin Henin
I'd say Wawrinka instead of RF...just my opinion
I'd give Federer the edge due to variety on the backhand side
Goat in cheat to win roland Garros 2003 was not cool.
@@siblingcat4765 LOL... Ofcourse he's a cheater that's how he won 20 slams, only a cheater can be so successful in your world, isn't it ?
get real, watch Federer vs Wawrinka matches, Federer avoids going backhand to backhand battles with Wawrinka. Nobody rips one-handed backhands like Stan, the man is a beast.
Loved henin hardenne, most graceful female tennis player ever
My vote for most graceful goes to Goolagong followed closely by Mandlikova.
She is the female Federer in my opinion. Obviously she doesn't have as many slams or accolades (Although still a great career), but just watching her on the tennis court, she reminds me of him.
and a cheater and shouting allez when opponents make an error. Yes very graceful
She wasn't very graceful when she cheated against Serena at the 2003 French Open...or against Kim at the 2004 Australian Open...or when she retired in the 2006 Australian Open and ruined Mauresmo's first slam win.
Oh and she was disliked by almost everyone on the WTA during her entire career.
I think Steffi Graf was the most graceful with her stunning footwork and foot speed and even Roger Federer said he used to watch her for hours
Objectively, no one can deny that Justine was technically one of the most talented players ever. Serena's the greatest, based on all the titles she won, but watching Justine was a feast for the eyes. All those comments about Justine cheating and being coached are stupid considering Serena herself was involved in numerous on-court controversies, including coaching, threatening lineswomen, smashing rackets, behaving ungraciously in press conferences...
Serena is not a cheat . she has never used the on court coaching during the WTA matches when its allowed cos she wants to win on her own.
When Patrick was giving instructions, Serena cannot control what he does nor did she condone it.
Henin is an out and out cheater full stop. How many times did we see Carlos give her instructions in this match?
@@olaraay Let me refresh your memory. At the 2018 US Open, Serena got a warning for receiving coaching, resulting in a code violation. She smashed her racket, resulting in a second violation and hence a point penalty. Serena then accused the umpire of being a thief, leading to a third violation. Yeah, Serena is a tennis role model. By the way, there's a difference between coaching a player and encouraging a player, which every coach does.
@@olaraay just they have eye contact is not the same
Being technically sound doesn’t win titles unfortunately 🤷🏾♂️. If that was the case Lindsay would’ve won way more GS than she did and I actually thought she was technically better than Justine.
Justine was a cheat; putting her hand up at the French Open and then denying it, causing Serena to lose her first serve. Serena has never done anything of the sort where she has actively cheated a player. Her character can be questioned in other ways though. However I’m glad when it came to the integrity of the sport, karma did it’s work. Justine never surpassed seven slams and never win Wimbledon and Serena totally eclipsed her. The end.
Serena is amazing Still 23 GRAND SLAMS... HER TECHNIQUE, SKILL, POWER, PRECISION, DETERMINATION, STYLE, INTELEGENCE, AND GRACE SAYS IT ALL, SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON 26 GRAND SLAMS....BY NOW...... KEEP PROVING EVERYONE WRONG.
It was so weird to see Justine win this match and then lose to Bartoli. A strange year
She told in interview , she was not mentally ready , she lost concentration in the match thinking about the fact Venus was waiting in the final. She proved mentally strong recovery by beating Serena and Venus back to back and win the US open that year
Serena was injured in this match
JUSTINE HENIN IS MY ALL-TIME FAVOURITE FEMALE TENNIS PLAYER...Then MONICA SELES...3rd MARTINA HINGIS...THIS DAY maybe PETRA KVITOVA 😌
Justine, Serena, Venus, Amélie, Maria... I miss the level of tennis these champions brought.
Women's game definitely needs another Henin
Serena showed a whole lot of variety. Justine was quick and skillful as usual. Should have been a final.
A beast literally
Justine is among the most beautiful female players I've seen: a combination of grace and power. A little like Federer - although her serve is very different. I remember being morose when she retired; her retirement seemed to me a little premature, though I'm sure she had sound reasons.
And flopped against Bartoli🤦🏻♀️
Thiti Similikiti I agree and think beating Serena took something out her. Tennis is also a mental game.
Ya but bartoli won Wimbledon and made the final.that year...she was very good on grass. Very unorthodox shots.
I love that match! It's hard to find that one
Cant handle the power on grass...
Ilya Kuryakin that was very random
I wish justine would come back I love her
I miss justine so so much! If she had been taller and had a stronger body, she would be so much perfect! Her gameplay was so fascinating to watch!
This is true and has always been denied by that player's fans.

@@jamteachwil3078 i only care about Justine and not Serena, and for this, there's no if, could, would...
She beat Serena at three straight grand slams. How much better could she be?!
For me Justine was just right... Didnt need to be anything more. Everything about her arsenal including her height was what gave her that alluring tenacity but by God... What a beautiful backhand!!!
Unfortunately it feels like Many of the females on top are/were quite bitter rivals.
I feel like both Justine and Serena have had controversies against opponents and they are not alone. But that’s it, I don’t want to go into that more.
However, Justine’s backhand is technically the most beautiful shot I have ever seen. That single shot makes her a pleasure to watch.
Agree about her backhand - a truly sublime stroke.
@@martydav9475 its beautiful, but not powerful

She is like a lioness.
2004-2007 was arguably the nadir within Serena's prime (1999-2017). Thank goodness she managed to win AO that year otherwise 2007 would've been a write-off. Henin stayed giving Serena trouble, but Serena managed to outlast her biggest rivals.
Peak henin > Serena

Justin perfektion game, she deserve top 10 posesion of all time on modern WTA player
I was so sad when Justine retired. I always loved her, and her game. Unfortunately, after she retired she has come clean about a couple incidents where she has not been honest, when she lied about a call against Clijsters, and the hand incident with Serena Williams, but her game was glorious to watch.
Mzee 1084, glad to hear that Henin finally owned up. The hand incident against Serena was such a blatant lie, as if she didn't realise it was all captured on film.
The Clijsters incident was not a lie. It looked very out to me also. When a ball is 0.01 in it's an honest mistake.
@@networth00 Henin confessed that she knew the ball was in, otherwise I would agree that it was such a close call it could go either way.
@@Mzee1084 I don't think she confessed. The interpretation of what she said was off.
Serena has never hit this many slices in one match. In fact, I bet there were tournaments she won where she didn't hit as many slices than did she in this match. Her hand was injured, for real, and it greatly impacted her best groundstroke.
Thats because she was clearly injured! 2007 was a horrible year for Serena. She couldnt stay healthy

I had no idea Serena used to slice the backhand at all. I can see why she stopped though. She does not look like she really developed her technique on that stroke a lot.
Love watching Henin show that hard work can sometimes still beat Steroids and HGH and PED abuse.
Henin was probably the best women's player ever for a short period of time. And she's silent when she plays. Can't believe the ump let Williams scream like that. That's not a grunt.
Agree!!!
Her “grunts” were even embarrassing to watch. She was a complete weirdo and narcissist all the way around.
I love love ❤️ JU JU! My favorite woman player of all time.

Hénin is always the female no.1 for me. Serena's so kineticly strong, like an orcs warrior. But Hénin showed what an ordinary woman can do with tennis, incredible skills, just make so many people feel the resonance from her beautiful style.
She on peds but I still liked her 😉
Justine retired at #1... the #2 player was far behind her in points at the time..
Great win. Serena looked a little off , and she sliced her backhand a lot more then usual. Amazing that Henin won first set with such poor serving. But that one handed backhand is gold.
Justine is the best I loved her when I first saw her match she is so talented and they have a big loss happy retirement my champ

i love this match!
How hennin show Williams her power is easy to reduce..she retired too earlier
Yes henin and Kim too fast goes retirement ...
Henin is not less powerful than Williams imo. Besides, 2007 Williams is not in a very good form whilst Henin is in her prime.
Heinz was not going to be beating the serena of 2010-2017..good effort by Justine but the game had gone up a level and after 2008 she was not at the top anymore hence her retirement
Haha. It just because serena was injury since vs Daniela Hantuchova but still she managed to took 1 set.
I liked Henin but at her prime ( 2009, 2010 , 2012, 2015) Williams would easily beat Henin in London. Her serve was out of this world all those years , wining so many easy points
1:10:40 the craziest "in" call i have ever seen on a set point...WOW
That was a terrible call. The ball was out. It's a service box line on the opposite side of the center line. Add side serve has to hit add side box. The ball landed on the deuce box it's out
Henin The Great
I love how crowd is rooting for Justine, and not for Williams. :)
That’s sports
Henin would not be intimidated by all the grunting and screaming. Nice win!
Oh well... serena has had the last laugh.
She lost in the next round to Bartoli, lmao. And then Venus won it all in the final.

Had Henin, and Clysters, and Hingis, and Graff and Mueresmo, not retired unusually early, then Williams would have far fewer slams. I liked the all court game of Henin, Hingis and Mueresmo. The Canadian girl has an all court game, I hope she does not become injury prone.
Totally agree.
Clijsters wasn't beating Serena at the slams and the other were driven into retirement by Serena.
I love the delusion... serena can only play who's in front of her. She didnt have time to worry about those quitters.. she was to busy winning.

Im watching this match in 2024..Serena is the goat..Justine was a great player no doubt 👏..
Serena is no GOAT. Steffi is the GOAT. Serena is # 3 all time.
The commentators keep on commenting on coaching -- but there is a rule in tennis, ironically called the Henin rule, that opponents cannot make a sound before a point is finished for example, a winner is actually a winner because it might distract the other player and cause him or her to miss the point. It doesn't state when, it just says, ANY sound. Technically, all grunting is a distraction then... And it IS distracting...
