It was very pleasing to me seeing Roger have trouble handling Serena’s serve and Serena not having as much trouble with Roger’s serve as one would think. They really went for their serves because you could tell they respected each other’s first and second serves so much. Tiafoe was really the weakest link in this match. They really could have won it if Serena had a better volleyer on her team. Tiafoe just missed so much it was annoying after awhile. Also, you could tell Serena’s shoulder was bothering her and her partner didn’t make it any easier for her. It was still exciting to see the two greatest players of all time on the same court facing each other!
I think we saw a different match. Roger served 10 times against Serena and she put the return in play only 2 times. 2 second serves. And Roger had to return only 6 times and did it well 4 times. He failed the first 2 returns (2 second serves). That's all

Steffi is also in the top 2 best players of all time on all surfaces, while Serena lags considerably behind Evert, Graf, Court, Seles, Henin and even Sanchez Vicario on clay. Steffi is also the only player in history to win all slams at least four times and the only player to defend each major at least once.
Steffi achieved more than Serena despite retiring at the age of 30. One Slam more for Serena simply isn't enough to overshadow all of Steffi's amazing accomplishments and records. She still is, without a doubt, the greatest female tennis player of all time. Serena's fixation on slams and complete disregard of every other event will hurt her in the long run as far as the GOAT debate is concerned. She simply was never able to achieve the level of dominance and consistency like Navratilova, Evert and especially Steffi.
Dimitry realistically people get better over time with coaches, trainers, etc. imagine how good Serena has to be in order to beat other women who had all those support groups. Serena dominating in a time where there is new techniques and ways to plays shows she’s the greatest woman player of all time
@@Daniel-ge1rt Um, no, thats not how the GOAT debate works, you seem to be suffering from recency bias.
The equipment technology was virtually the same when Steffi played and she played in the toughest era of women's tennis ever.
Steffi >>> Serena.
this was actually really nice to watch
Lots of fun here , thanks for the memories John Barnett ❤ revisited October 2023❤
Wow…two legends now retired…Love that they got the chance to do this

Very happy here to see them together.
Roger is just in another level and bencic did a good job too
They are so sweet and respectful with each other. Sereena is very humble the way she praises him 🥰
I know you can never say never, but it's hard to believe that someone will impact Tennis like they have.
Serena is the Michael Jordan of tennis: Federer is the Larry Bird of tennis. So no you will never see players like them again!
Such great sportsmanship from both Roger and Serena. Awesome stuff!
That's all
LeBeee no.
I don't think you were remotely watching the same match as everyone else . lol
mason1011 i was.
@@JCole-fg3rr Doesn't seem so XD
You really see how great Roger is, this seemed easy for him

Gotta love Serena's serves!!!
I love how Roger is fangirling over serena, and serena is fangirling over Roger
Tiafoe looks like never playing double before
7:120 Serina's like...stop patronizing me like I should not have been able to get a serve past Roger.
4:56 Sneaky! Even Spider-man was present for this epic match.
We see you Peter covering the match for newspaper.
Hahaha , How did you see that ?
the only full match I have ever seen and it was very entertaining!
This was really fun. Gonna miss the Hopman Cup.
Luckily it's coming back in 2022!
@@victoriaepps8996 WHEN?
@@amandacerny8145 Well it was supposed to come back this year. But last year the ITF president said it would return in 2023 in Nice. The Wikipedia article has some info.
The GOATS !
This is maybe what i always wanted
28:38 Tiafoe strikes back
What an amazing atmosphere at the end of the game between Serena and Roger❤
Serena deserved to win... Her partner was messing up all the time and this game was really about Federer vs Williams.
Sweet interview at the end. Great match
23:45 my coach would call that no foot work
Serena is right in saying that Roger is "the greatest player of all time--both on the court AND off the court"! He's so humble and gracious in his words and demeanor.
@Joe D.
He's not humble. In fact, he's quite arrogant and is known for that. Nadal is humble.
great game of these leaders of the tennis 👍
Roger is still impressive...Great player.
What a fun match. A big thanks for putting this on.
Bencic when Federer aces: 😁
Bencic when Serena aces: 😒
well i mean bencic is her opponent i wouldn’t be too happy if my opponent aces either 😅
Will miss these two
43 Slams in that selfie!
Wow what a lovely matched ♥️♥️♥️
arguably best tenis man vs best tenis women in disguise. there is not even a question for those who have eyes to see.
THE BEST MATCH ❤
wow 43 Grand Slams titles are moving on the court =)))
Both have been stuck. Roger still at 20 and Serena still at 23. 😭
How have I not seen this during the lockdown?? GOATs being GOATs (and being humble too!)
im in luv with serena's outfit 😍😍😍
Rarely see Fedex and Selena in a match. So enjoyed. Thank you so much!
first time watching a tennis match or highlights, and it was great.
The closing interview was so adorable 😂
Does Tiafoe practice his volleys?🤣
No lol
Or footwork?
NO!!! and it showed for both.
yes, every year!
Yep he practices his volleys. Professionals ain't perfect. You try playing at these standards keyboard warrior.
Hey look, if you can say you played in a competitive match with Serena Williams and Roger Federer at the same time it doesn't matter what the hell else happened or what you did - that gold right there.
William smile toward point loss to Federer is so beautiful with respect to champion from champion.
I get goosebumps every time I watch the GOATs
kinda annoying having to high five your partner at every single point :)
now u don't...
The payback from Tahoe to Roger was too funny! Cry-laughing here
Two legends
I love all the smiling!!
Beautiful game.
Love this specially the interview with Roger and Serena ❤
Same quality❤️ quality of 🐐🐐
What a moment in sports history 🔥
Bencic went over to talk to Tiafoe at the end 😂.46:16

dont normally like watching double but this was so fun to watch
Can you imagine this match with Tiafoe playing how he has played in 2021?

sheltomo Thiem 🤣
@sheltomo thiem has how many grand slams? Exactly
I’m watching when their got his first grand slam over Zverev great five set match
sheltomo dude Nadal and Djoker. How the hell does Thiem even come into the convo lmao
Both great players so amazing humble both❤
Serena wins her two service games...should have had her serve first. Though from the way she keeps rubbing her shoulder it must have been sore.
Both my favorites Roger Serena 😍
Imagine they have a baby together? Lol regardless the gender that baby will be unstoppable 😂😅
Wtf he's married
Wtf she is married
Wtf I am married
Wtf this is hypothetical
Wtf im not married
Really like the chemistry between Serena and Tiafoe
Tiafoe in his podcast mentioned Serena in this match was yelling to him during changeover, saying Federer is not better than her, because he has 20 slams and she has 23.😂
what a lovely match.....
Two GOATs
Serena is not the GOAT of women's tennis. That is Steffi Graf.
@@PravoslavniVitez Also good but nah
@@RealMudSkipper Slams won:
Serena - 23/74 (31%)
Steffi - 22/54 (40.7%)
Steffi is the only player in history to win all 4 slams and an Olympic gold in a single season (1988). She won a whopping 21 Slams in only 9 years (1987-1996) before winning her final one 3 years later. She also made 13 straight slam finals at one point and had FIVE 3+ Slam seasons. Serena has only had two 3 Slam seasons and her longest final stretch was four. It took Serena 18 years to win 23 Slams and Steffi 12 to win 22.
Overall titles:
Serena - 74/231 (31.6%)
Steffi - 107/223 (47.9%)
Additional notes: Steffi had 5 seasons in which she won 10 or more titles, including a season in which she won 14 (1989). Serena has had one such season (2013). Even though Steffi played less tournaments than Serena, she won 33 more titles.
Win-Loss record:
Serena - 834-144 (85.2%)
Steffi - 902-115 (88.7%)
Steffi has had a 90+ win % in TEN seasons compared to Serena's 6. Moreover, over a 4 year period in 1987-1990, Steffi recorded 305 wins compared to only 12 losses and won 9 out of 12 Slams, an unprecedented level of dominance never before or since seen on a tennis court. She then had ANOTHER dominant period in 1993-1996 in which she won 235 matches and lost only 18, winning 10 of 14 Slams she competed in. Serena has never displayed such dominance at any point in her career.
Weeks ranked at #1:
Serena - 319
Steffi - 377
Year-End #1s:
Serena - 5 (2002, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015)
Steffi - 8 (1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996)
Winning record over players who have been ranked in the top 10:
Serena - 427-177 (78%)
Steffi - 452-91 (83%)
Steffi achieved more than Serena despite retiring at the age of 30. One Slam more for Serena simply isn't enough to overshadow all of Steffi's amazing accomplishments and records, the biggest of which is the 1988 Golden Slam - all four slams and the Olympic gold medal in the same year.
