Easy like, and sub. I got out of sales about a yr ago due to the Austin market dwindling seemingly overnight, and am honestly grasping the basics somewhat still. These help more than you know. it Ego is crazy, as you know, in this industry. Takes the right people to really teach you something. The goal is PM or lead in 3-5 yrs. Can’t be like some of the guys ,that I love, that are super complacent at 45-50 yrs cruisin’ at $20/h , and praying for OT, working w my 30 yr old ass.

Believe or not if there is no standard onsite when pulling cable and putting labels or marking the cabling the whole job takes longer. One basic thing is to teach the new hires our standards. Anyone can succeed in this business.....two golden rules.....show up on time...and BE TEACHABLE :)

@@BridgeCable yes sir. I always tell the real new guys 80% of it is just showing up. But yeah man these are informative so just know that at least it’s helping. Also quick question, do you leave service loops at each 90? Or are you just saying leave a loop for slack so they don’t have to pull that corner. If the question doesn’t make sense I’ll reword it. The way I was taught was I’m only leaving service loops at the sleeves but I was just interested in what you were talking about

That is a great idea! We are indeed trying to document "common" stuff for our new hires. Many people want to keep internal....we believe in sharing!

what i will say about using a book of numbers is its better because sometimes you can't read other guys writing, is that a 2 or 5, 7 or 1, 9 or 6...so if you use marker be neat or instead of writing a 2 write Two. I always label like this 2 TWO 2

Nothing is perfect.....best.....is a team that has been working together for awhile! Back years ago we had stickers.....just too many jobs to hand out those all the time.

If you were to labor cat 6e cable pulling through drop ceilings off ladder on j hooks on 20k sq ft floor to individual tele-data stations..how much per foot or thousand? I'd say 11 hours a thousand is fair?

Few different ways to go with this. Footage of wire usually double the cost of the wire. Labor rates....really depends on the site. If one or two drops $125 per drop is the "standard". However on larger jobs drop it down....factor in setup, ease of pulls, travel, back office costs, profit, insurance and few more. If we had to throw a number out....$99 per drop? At times for a job that requires 400+ drops....we have gotten as low as $77 per drop. However....certain rough jobs have been $420 per drop. The site surveys before the job is important....without knowing that.....just guessing :)
