Thank you for this reaction, I've loved the Statlers for over 45 years, and Thank you for paying attention to the lyrics, so many other reactors just hear the music, but in country music the words are the important thing.
I agree with all you said. I've loved them for 50 years and miss them dearly. I've lived my life and their music was always there to see me through everything I've been through in life ( good and bad). I hope this gentleman will go down the rabbit hole with their music. There are so many great songs he'll fall in love with.
I do like lyrics in Country music.
We saw the Statler Brothers open for Barbara Mandrell at the Iowa State Fair. One Des Moines Register reviewer said that it was essentially the Statler Brothers Show.😊
Such a Country Classic! Great reaction Neal!
This has always been one of my dads favorite groups. He was the class of 57. He now suffers with dementia, but I know deep inside he remembers. He also sang in a Barbershop Quartet.❤❤❤❤❤
Harold was so funny. At the Iowa State Fairm he told the audience, " Qell see y'all at the picnic, after the show."
Don said, " What are you talking about? What picnic?"
Harold said, " Didn't I hear you tell that girl to get a blanket, and, meet you behind the grandstand?"😂
He told a heckler, " When you go back to your car tonight,I hope you throw up on the seat.
And, your girlfriend sets in it!"
Love those harmonies. A really great group.
I loved this Song. This was one of my Moms Favorite Songs by one of her favorite Groups.
Harold Reid ( the bass) has passed away. He and Don have sons who perform together and harmonize the same way.
They recorded The Statler Brothers Song, in tribute to their dads and the others.
I met Harold and Carol.
When they sing John is big in cattle they are talking about my granddad!! He went to school with them!!
How about reacting to their song, Do You Remember These. A wonderful fun trip down memory lane.
this was my dad's favorite group and he was in the class of 57 as well!
I saw a classmate from my graduating class, after the tenth reunion.
Most weren't yet married ( they got married later, though),one woman was running a gas station.
Two guys from homeroom weren't there, because one was serving a life sentence for murdering the other one!
Great review. The Statlers are “America’s poets” as labeled by a classic American writer, Kurt Vonnegut.
My mother-in-law had the tape of theirs with Do You Know You Are My Sunshine?, because that was her song for her first granddaughter.
This is 100% the best country group there ever was!!!! And Harold DID marry Brenda!!
Did you hear that one is on the insane ward, one is on welfare, one is deep in debt and someone took another’s wife and Freddy took his life????
I love this song and your reaction is priceless!😊
Love this! Love the Statlers!!
This song could apply to the class of (insert any year)!
Next should be them singing Bed of Roses. ❤❤❤❤❤
The Statlers are great♥️
Great reaction! When you said, "Everyone's doin' well" I commented to myself, "Not Freddie". :(
You should check out their song Counting Flowers on the Wall
So accurate with the advice. I was out of my house early but I kept telling my younger sister, stay as long as you can. Haha You don't want to grow up faster.
Great reaction!
So awesome you did this song! I hope people don't pass it up just because they might not know it. It's a great one.
