I normally play as an elf mage during both Origins & Inquisition. In Origins in my first playthrough I picked them because they make for stronger mages but I discovered playing as an elf also gave me some unique conversation points in the dialogue particularly with humans. The main reason I'm playing as an elf mage in Inquisition is because I'm curious about my interactions with Solas.

Well, first off, yes, I play an Elven Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition. A female Dalish romancing Blackwall. A fine tale of redemption.
Second, Happy Birthday. And third, something for thought:
A theory about the Evanuris, the Elven Pantheon now banished within the Fade.
There are few who believe that their subtle influence just barely reaching across the Veil are what's really behind the faith of The Maker.
Because think, why is it there was no mention of a Maker until after the Evanuris was long gone?
Why was it only after the first Blight that Andraste claims to have heard someone speaking to her?
Possibly because the Maker is a fabrication due to the combined machinations of the Evanuris?
Well, that's what I'd like to think. Perhaps the writers may or may not clarify it later, but until then, we can only speculate.

2:43 Misconception. The Elves didn't live in peace with nature, they dominated it. They shaped nature like the Dwarves shape stone. They twisted nature to their whim, because their magics were so great that they could.
4:05 Lore suggests that the common elf was frequently enslaved to their mage "betters" whom the Gods are call backs to. Just.. in Dragon Age there wasn't an Age where the majority of elves weren't enslaved, by their own or by the Tevinter.

Procedes to train bloodmage and sends her into DA2, plays with dangerous artifact that can tamper with reality, curses hundreds of people and extends life unnaturally because of what two people did by summoning demon and corrupting the land.
Elves in DA2: "we just want to restore our culture we don't care about anybody else. Honestly we're a peaceful people."
Also Elves in DA2: Previously mentioned bloodmage brings now corrupt dangerous artifact into city full of people and procedes to consort with demon. Other Elf bloodmage kills wife. Insults, Threatens and yells racial slurs at passing pedestrians. Tries to murder somone because... Their keeper... their wisest leader asks a demon to posses her, lures heavily armed group of mercs into a cave so they can kill her and then blam the mercs for doing what the keeper wanted and what heavily armed mercs do.... good job!
Also crazy elf gets mad because she mearly poisoned a city block instead of blowing it up.
    DAI Elves: Solus.... enough said.
I'm sure Solus will try to pull the "it's all the evil shims fault" card in dread wolf and I'm sure that everyone who plays it is going to forget that even the people who worship him call him a lier.

I love DA elves but honestly I'm kind of tired of EVERYTHING linking back to them. There were so many missed opportunities with dwarven lore. I would like a better explanation for why they can't do magic then "they live close to lyrium." Honestly everything made sense for them to be the ones who defiled the golden city and were cast out but any dwarven relevance was scrapped to make the elves EVEN MORE IMPORTANT.

Why their attempt to control the minds of the people. He dosent strike me as habitual lying type, its possible he's withholding knowledge. @@robwatts5281 Yes, because when you're at your most vulnerable and you have absolutely no idea what the world is like now, you're gonna go and tell people that you are basically an immortal elven god that was responsible for creating the Veil, the fall of ancient elven society, and changed the entire world causing the deaths of thousands, if not millions of people. And that your plan now is to change it back to the way it was AGAIN killing millions of people and that you are the reason the Divine is dead and Corephyus is on the loose.

Not gonna lie, i'm kinda hoping for a HUGE change in how the world works in this series by the end of Dreadwolf...
Like letting us think we were working towards simply stopping Solas from causing the collapse, to instead figure out that it's coming no matter what, and we instead end up having to work WITH him to find a way to make the collapse less destructive!
Let the player think it can be prevented entirely, only to hit us with the "there's nothing you can do to stop it, only lessen the damage when it happens", and the entire second act is about preparing settlements for the collapse, using whatever mcguffin the protagonist controls to lessen the blow when the collapse finally comes...
It could even work as the Dragon Age version of Mass Effect 3s EMS, but where you not only get the numbers for the "good" ending, but everyone you save and every ressource you gather will show up in your different hubs! Found a docter being attacked by demons? Save them, and they might start roaming your city! And when time comes for the final battle, that settlement is better prepared, because the docter helped get more soldiers on their feet in time, so you have a few more soldiers!

Bioware games have always been about some tough choices, some you can control, some you can't.
Of course, it should be possible to wholeheartedly accept him back, or outright kill him and go ahead with the plan without him.
He definitly shouldn't have plot armor, but it could be fun if someone in your group refuse to work with you if Solas joins you, so the roster stays the same size, but your decisions can change what partymembers you get. Or just make him a secret partymember...
What i really want is to be able to save him if i like him, or just kill him if i hate him.
So it's more the plan that he's using i would be after as the ultimate prize, and not him specifically...
