    I actually don't think Flemeth has ever lied to neither the protagonist or others. That would be to crude. BUT she does say things in a way that makes you believe she means something else and therefore influences people to do what she wants anyway.
    For example, she wanted Morrigan to perform the dark ritual. BUT she knew that if she told that to Morrigan, she would be suspicious or downright turn her down out of spite and sense of freedom. But... Flemeth knew that if Morrigan found the information herself, her thirst for wisdom would make her do the ritual anyway. And forbidding Morrigan from touching her grimoire would make it irresistable to her.
    Morrigan believed that Flemeth was angry at the ones stealing the minor grimoare (the one found in the mage tower). But... what if Flemeth let it be stolen so that she later could make Morrigan stumble over it... Flemeth knew the Warden and Alistair where going to the Circle Tower. And that with Morrigan in tow she would certainly try to find it. And in it read some half-truths about Flemeth "consuming" her daughters which would make Morrigan extremly focused on getting the right one. In the end Flemeth was not suprised and already knew that the Warden was there to kill her and take the grimoare for Morrigan. Almost like it was her plan all along...

    I am absolutely certain that Flemeth or at the very least Mythal is going to be the final big bad we face in the Dragon Age series in some way, shape or form. Be it as Flemeth, as Morrigan or as a fully revitalised Mythal. The theme of justice turning into vengeance has been too prominent in the series for this not to eventually become her fate. A noble purpose being turned into a twisted tyrade of terrible destruction over the ages. Dragon Age over all just very much feels like her story. With each game we are adding a new piece onto it. Until she is finally ready to execute that big plan she's had brewing for so many centuries. Even Solas, I think, will only be another pawn in her grand design, as so many have been before him.

Strong enough to remain alive despite being betrayed by her fellow gods. And powerful enough to have lived on and shaped the events of the world to her will for centuries upon centuries. What would actually disappoint me is if she needed us as the players to "rescue" or avenge her by taking out the Evanuris on her behalf. That would cheapen her position in the lore and all the build-up of her character so far immensely. She has a plan for this world, we've known that for a while. And that plan better dwarf the intentions of her fellow Evanuris, Solas included, in comparison.

      Actually, Flemmeth does not do it like that. It is more like a phylactery that stores a piece of herself. She needed to go to an elven site that probably enhances Mythal's elven immorality to bring Flemmeth back to life. The key is being there was no transfer in bodies. Corypheus transfers through the connection of the blight just like the old god. Mythal and Flemmeth most likely do not have that connection or she would have just taken control of Morrigan.

    My favorite thing about Dragon Age is the lack of proof of the Maker. In most fantasy religion, "faith" per say isn't really needed as direct communications and magical powers are commonplace as comming from the gods. In Dragon age on the other hand, the faith in the Maker seems more real, rather than transactional. Without "proof" of the maker, Andrastens are true believers, as any magic in the world has plausible explanations outside of the Maker or the divine. To me, definitivly answering these questions would take away a part of what makes Dragon Age great.

    I have a feeling what Solas did to Mythal/Flemeth in Trespasser was a mutual agreement. That Solas needed her power for something and Mythal wanted to transport somewhere, be preserved/hidden, or combine with Solas' power to achieve her own ends. Maybe they connected because Andraste (if related to Mythal) was fighting against powerful human corruption (Tevinters) and Solas against corrupt ancient elves (hence banishing them to the Fade by creating the Veil). But then in trying to restore the old elven culture, Mythal sees this as a way to put human corruption back in line, so to speak. That if the elven gods culture can be restored, the magisters have no chance of blighting the world endlessly. And since humans came after ancient elven corruption, they too will keep the elves from getting too powerful and corrupt as well, like before. Contributing to the mage / templar balance. I'm just not sure what Solas means by "your world will die so my people can live".

    Flemeth - with her pieces - is literally Voldemort with all her horcruxes all over the place. If she made a tiny amulet to give to Hawke to take to her shrine up on Sundermount, then you can bet that she has a backup plan. Maybe even on she gave to Solas herself. Or she'll appear in dreams and gently nudge some poor mage into doing her will until she returns. One thing I know for certain is that there's no way she's completely gone. She has survived the mOST sorts of bullshit, and betrayal and war - she IS the master of the game. Hell she's old enough she probably cREATED the game. I wouldn't even be surprised.

    I dont believe she could be behind the blights, she is not lying. She is getting her way because she is good at planning. She is by far the wisest person in the whole DA world. If she turned out to be just another justice seeker turning into a crazy vengeful abomination I will be very very disappointed. Why is it that if someone is getting their way, they must be cheating or manipulating. She strikes good deals. She knows a lot but doesnt always share. She understands the hearts of men and what they tend to do. Sharing information is not always beneficial I think. Sometimes she could be self-serving, but who isnt. just because she takes advantage of the blights doesnt mean she is causing the blights. Whenever there is a disaster in Thedas, she is there playing her game maximizing her profit, striking deals with those who would save the world. Note that she could easily help Corepheyus and strike a good deal with him to get what she wants, if she really wanted the destruction of the world as we saw in the future without inquisitor timeline. I want her story to end by her getting back at those who wronged her and moving on her way, not like a big bad baddie. Flemeth is one of my all time favorite characters in the whole DA world. I like the idea she is a wise spirit who plays the long game pretty well. The one I wish we kill is Solas, maybe not in the next game but the game after that or something.
    Flemeth is just another gal with a plan :) that is how I prefer it. Like she says to Hawk when asked what is the catch "There is always a catch. Life is a catch! I suggest you catch it while you can", and that is what she does best, catching life while she can.

Sure there could had been some fibbling/assasinations done by Flemeth to cover it up. But since she didn't do anything to the Warden it sounds unlikely.

    • @AulisVaara
      @AulisVaara 2 года назад

      For some Archdemons there's a clear killer, sure, but not for all of them. Especially the first one is sus, since seven Wardens died while it went through its death throes.
      We also don't have a definitive slayer of the third Archdemon.

    • @alexissandren1884
      @alexissandren1884 2 года назад +2

      @@AulisVaara One wouldn't need a clear killer. What would be needed would be no surviving witnesses from the end battle. If a Warden made the killing blow and didn't die afterwards, all persons that had seen this would had to be put to the sword to make sure the most central doctrin of the Wardens stays intact.
      But there are two other very important factors why the ritual used in Origins was "new".
      1. There is no need for the "father" to be the one delivering the final blow. In Origins it doesn't matter who father's the child or who gives the blow, the ritual still works. So all a daughter of Flemeth would need to do is to be impregnated by a Grey Warden and then stay close by the battle. If this was done all 5 times the idea that "the one delivering the final blow will die" wouldn't had take hold since it would had been proven false. The only reason we know about the ritual is that there are only (at most) 3 suitable fathers at the 5th. In the other blights finding a suitable sperm donor would had been quite easier so Flemeth would have no need to involve the Grey Warden command at all. Just make sure the pieces on the board literary where in the right position.
      2. Flemeth may be an "old womsn talking to much" but she is not a gambler. And in the dark ritual-plan there are simply to much things that can go wrong. We need to remember that the Warden's goal is to kill the Arch Demons. The thought of their spirits lingering in the world would be appaling to them. The Wardens are more or less a cult of suicidal martyrs, the prospect of saving their own lives at the cost of the Archdemon staying in the world just to later succumb to the calling would not be enticing at all. Especially compared to the glory of sacrificing ones life to kill an Arch Demon.
      When Morrigan says that the donor need to be a newly initiated Grey Warden, we don't know if that is true. It's reasonable, and I do think Morrigan believes it. But we need to remember that all her information comes from Flemeth's Grimoare. Which Flemeth happily gives her as long as Morrigan believes it was stolen. So when Morrigan says that a more sessioned Grey Warden is unsuitable, is it becouse of the taint OR that Flemeth knows that a more senior member never would agree? Which also goes well in her hand in saving The two most recent recruits at the Battle of Ostagar. If Flemeths goal was to stop the Blight, why choose the most unsuitable candidates in the whole of Ferelden for the task? It could be that she knew that they hadn't been indoctrinated enough to say no to a chance of cheating death, if only for the moment. And still, the succes of the ritual is solemly based upon the choice of a stranger (The Warden). Not odds Flemeth would gamble on, and certainly not five times in a row.

      Cole cryptic lines may be implying that Thedas itself created the Titans to defend itself against the Elvanuris, Solas seems to have respect for the Titans, implying they were not evil.

Before the Trespasser DLC, we see Solas take powers from Flemeth which turned her into some sort of dead husk or stone. I think Flemeth will be back - one way or the other. She will most certainly be back in form of a "memory" in Morrigan and i guess that the soul of Urthemiel, which she sent to the Eluvian, was to a place where Fen'Harel cannot go atm. I think Flemeth is linked with the creation of the Grey wardens. When the first wardens where created they had to had an idea where to meet and why to do that. Thats not something soldiers think of themselves and can achieve on such a large scale on their own. I think they had help. Someone "shoved history", to speak in Flemeths terms. All the Archdemons are only savely destroyed when a grey warden sacrifices themselves. Thats what we know. How on earth was Flemeth able to write down a spell or even have a tome where a different method was displayed. And who wrote the tome if not someone who understood the whole concept of the blight and the archdemons more than anyone else? I think Mythal started the Blight when she struck down the titans, which in turn started to infect the land and even the lands, where Andruil hunted and she - in turn - was infected by it and the blight was syphoned by Mythal from her. Mythal / Flemeth knows a little too much about the Blight and thats why i think she is related to it. Solas is extremly wary of the blight and its dangers and he even calls it "poisoned." Solas normally has no problem with magic of any kind but why is blight magic or the blight poisoned and not to be used. I guess we will see that in the next game. I reckon that Mythal will show her true plan. And maybe even the little wolf is just a pawn for her.

    Flemeth was lying about not possessing Morrigan. She totally planned to possess her, as the Robes of Possession imply, but I think Morrigan may have managed to impress her enough to forego possessing her, or maybe Flemeth found a better way to live on, such as through that spirit that came from the Well of Sorrows. As for BioWare never confirming nor disproving the Maker's existence, I think they're lying about that just to throw fans off. They might give us an answer one way or the other in DA4 or 5. They seem to be leaning toward the Maker not existing though. And in that way, they'll probably try to rewrite Andraste's history so that most of what was written about her never actually happened, or could be explained in some other way. Like, she established a connection with a titan or something and that's how all her miracles happened.

      Its more so the fact that the later writers were not as good and they went in a different direction entirely with the character. Flemeth was obviously planning to possess her

      @@codyvandal2860 Definitely. She said a soul isn't forced on the unwilling, but the robes were designed to sap Morrigan's will.

    I’m new to your channel so I’m not sure if you’ve done it yet, but it would be cool if you did a lore video on how the Elven gods had wings. I think there was a bit of discovered lore in-game that talks about an elf who was punished for taking the same shape as the gods and flying as they did.

    Flemeth has been on every game so far, it would make sense for her to come back in the fourth aswell. But if she's truly dead, then maybe Morrigan, the inheritor, will be there to fulfill the role her mother used to.

    imagine if, in say, Dragon age 5 or 6 we fight a corrupt Maker as the last boss, I think that would be cool.
    I think Flemeth will be in the next game too. Maybe she absorbs Solas's power when/if we kill him or something like that.

    Flemeth/Mythal is a “grey character,” where she is not our enemy nor our friend…she has her sights set on her own goals and as long as our party can benefit those plans, she will not wipe us out in the process…
    Same with Solas, as well

    I'm sure Flemeth will make an appearance in the next game as she bargained with Morigain to take her child and put a part of her self into one of the mirrors, and thats before you take into account of any other parts of her self hidden away in other amulets, or similar

    I would adore your theory as cannon. It would awesome if they tied in Andraste's origin so close to home. I know Morrigan (could have) had a son, but what if Kieran is only male because of the nature of ritual/gender of the old god soul used in his procreation? Flemeth will definitely be back, but I fear that Morrigan maybe manipulated to play her role instead. Morrigan potentially gets such a great boon, but she may have to pay the cost; if she's was the well drinker, anyways... I hope it isn't something too tragic in the end. I really like her, but what a shake up that would be. 😔

      Though Kieran can be born if the Warden is in a relationship with her but refuses the ritual. So it pokes a hole in that, but it's still interesting to me that she did have a son and not a daughter.

    • @badmona
      @badmona 2 года назад +1

      Even ritual aside, I didn't know that he could still be born. Does the Warden still died in the final battle if this is the case? It would be interesting to find out that Kieran is actually female, but as another safeguard from Flemeth, she (he) was disguised as male.

    When you say “morrigans saving grace”, wouldn’t you need to take into account if morrigan drank from the well? Flemeth was able to control morrigan or the player (if the player drank from the well) when they had the reunion again with her son. So In theory, If morrigan drank from the well, it could be her doom. Whose to say that flemeth comes back and “absorbs” morrigan in game 4 and takes all her power. I’m also pretty sure that flemeth left a piece of herself somewhere along with the old dragon soul. I also believe that game 4 will be about a stopping solas but also finding a new god coming in to take the throne. Since corypheaus stated that he basically saw that the throne was “empty” (the sit of the maker)when he went into the golden city. Which kinda makes me believe that flemeth isn’t dead and could end up taking over solas spiritually and absorbing him which could be one hell of a problem for everyone.

    I really hope you do another video on Flemeth. I, like others have commented, have always had the feeling that she/Mythal were the big baddies of the whole series, with each game giving us a new piece of her story and plan. I played the DA games for the first time ever in 2018 so I'm still trying to learn all the lore. So if you do another video on Flemeth could you please talk about her in regards to Morrigan specifically (and all that comes with the topic of those two)? I have seen some ppl say Morrigan isn't Flemeth's true daughter but I don't ever remember learning that. I could be wrong but I potentially see Morrigan ruining Flemeth/Mythal's master plan. Like you mentioned Flemeth's other daughter thought it was wonderful to have the spirit of Mythal passed to her, whereas Morrigan didn't want that. I just sense Morrigan is the first one to not only stand up to her but also be smart/cunning enough to ruin her plan. Or at the very least, greatly hamper it somehow. Awesome video...can't wait for Dreadwolf!

    Solas took in Mythal for a purpose: to bring down the Fade. This will happen. Then Morrigan will accept Mythal and become a goddess, stronger than Flemeth ever was BECAUSE there is no barrier to the other world. OR a part of the story will have Morrigan still confused with her destiny, Flemeth returning to help Solas, but then later Morrigan at last will take in Mythal this Flemeth will die forever. Either way as the epilogue notes state Solas plans on giving Mythal back to Morrigan when it is time.

    I don't think Flemeth is a descendent of Andraste. (Leliana however....)
    She was also 100% correct about Loghain's betrayals. So what did she lie about?
