    Love seeing your POV infrastructure videos. The introspective videos are very informative, but these are great at showing what the infra looks like from a human point of view.

      Always evaluate your finances before doing so though. Due to the high tax rate, Netherlands is a place that is heavily oriented towards high skill labor.

    Why is car ownership so prevalent in the Netherlands? With excellent public transport and world class cycling infrastructure, why do they need to drive?

    • @rubentullenaar2934
      @rubentullenaar2934 3 года назад

      Public Transport is quite expensive, one way ticket from Amsterdam to Rotterdam is €16,40, imagine you want to go with the family with kids older than 12 (younger you can get a cheaper ticket) and the distance between these cities is 80km which is a 4 hour drive on a bike. So it is always handy to have a car, not prevalent though. I have a car but always take the bike to go to work which is a 30min drive up and down, and if it rains I still take the bike.

      It's the tallest structure in den Bosch by a considerable margin, it is 140m, the next tallest is the provincial parliament building at 101m, after that is a residential at 74. But most buildings stay shorter than the cathedral (sint Jan) at 73m, almost as if it is sacrilegious to build taller than it. Though I think there is a sort of bylaw of sight lines where you're not allowed to build taller than the Sint Jan

    Again amazed at the lack of path/road side litter; are the Dutch naturally tidy or do you have an army of cleaners? I hope that the lovely avenue of trees won't have to go for the upgrade.
    Apart from the motorbikes, which irritate me a great deal, it looks a wonderful ride.

    • @dennisverweij4817
      @dennisverweij4817 3 года назад +2

      I wouldn't say the Dutch are naturally "tidy", but there is a lot of money spent on cleaning up city streets with these sweeper trucks that sweep up and vacuum up trash, but also a lot of plant debris. I see them very often when I ride my bike to work (which is never now 😭), seems to be nearly every month or more. But if the same amount of effort is done in the country side, I doubt it.
      Furthermore, those "motorcycles" on the bike paths are scooters, which are limited in speed and motor size...but yeah I don't like them either.
