Thanks to your channel and Not Just Bikes, I rediscovered biking here in nl, and learned how special it is in the world.
Since Corona i take my bike for a ride twice a week en find beautiful places close to my home, while i lost 15kg :)
thanks Mark!
@@HugoZeilt Of course, NL is not perfect and there will always be obstacles to overcome but we still have and always had the best cycling infrastructure of the world
It would be a dream to cycle there! Amazing landscapes and infrastructure!
Where are you from?
I did this very ride for 5 weeks and loved it...
I realize Im kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch new tv shows online?
@Talon Kellen flixportal
@Augustine Huxley thanks, signed up and it seems to work =) I really appreciate it!!
Love seeing your POV infrastructure videos. The introspective videos are very informative, but these are great at showing what the infra looks like from a human point of view.
Living in 's-Hertogenbosch and working/growing up in Zaltbommel, I took this route so many times!
Seriously considering moving to NL to get away from stress in the US. Love watching these long rides... I actually feel better when doing so! Thank you for creating these videos!
Always evaluate your finances before doing so though. Due to the high tax rate, Netherlands is a place that is heavily oriented towards high skill labor.
Amazing. First time I watched a cycling video from the beginning to the end. Hope to return to the Netherlands to experience the best cycling in the world once again. Lucky you)
Great ride for my indoor trainer ! Very well done - Thanks for posting.
Jij krijgt een hele mooie beeld met je camera .. goed gedaan
Zeiken en zeuren wat je wil maar ons Nederland is een klas apart wat betreft fietsen infrastructuur 👌🚲🛴🛵🛹. Beautiful Holland/ the netherland
@BicycleDutch Can you do a ride from 's-Hertogenbosch to Kerkdriel , that would be awesome !
And another great ride! Bedankt Mark!
Again amazed at the lack of path/road side litter; are the Dutch naturally tidy or do you have an army of cleaners? I hope that the lovely avenue of trees won't have to go for the upgrade.
Apart from the motorbikes, which irritate me a great deal, it looks a wonderful ride.
I wouldn't say the Dutch are naturally "tidy", but there is a lot of money spent on cleaning up city streets with these sweeper trucks that sweep up and vacuum up trash, but also a lot of plant debris. I see them very often when I ride my bike to work (which is never now 😭), seems to be nearly every month or more. But if the same amount of effort is done in the country side, I doubt it.
Furthermore, those "motorcycles" on the bike paths are scooters, which are limited in speed and motor size...but yeah I don't like them either.
I feel like I can cycle the entire country 😀! I love it
Riding my bike here in New York, it feels like I'm going to war.... EVERYTIME I go out my door. And I say a little prayer for myself for good to protect me so I won't get killed
Reminds me of cycling around Harvard and MIT.
Car in underpass @5:37? Scary bananas!
Yes that was a terrible move by that driver.
@11:30 That wind turbine is huge.
It really is enormous.
It's the tallest structure in den Bosch by a considerable margin, it is 140m, the next tallest is the provincial parliament building at 101m, after that is a residential at 74. But most buildings stay shorter than the cathedral (sint Jan) at 73m, almost as if it is sacrilegious to build taller than it. Though I think there is a sort of bylaw of sight lines where you're not allowed to build taller than the Sint Jan
Bardzo ładne nagranie
How I wish the USA would have such great bicycling infrastructure.
0:26 you should have stopped for the old the lady at the zebra. Nevertheless a nice video to watch.
I wanted to, but then she abruptly stopped and avoided eye contact. That means: "you go first"
@@BicycleDutch So you applied the eye contact rule? We all do, so do I. But this rule isn’t official. In this case the pedestrian had right of way. Just saying :)
@@gerardg1950 Little point in waiting for people to go when they're not going, is there?
Why is car ownership so prevalent in the Netherlands? With excellent public transport and world class cycling infrastructure, why do they need to drive?
Public Transport is quite expensive, one way ticket from Amsterdam to Rotterdam is €16,40, imagine you want to go with the family with kids older than 12 (younger you can get a cheaper ticket) and the distance between these cities is 80km which is a 4 hour drive on a bike. So it is always handy to have a car, not prevalent though. I have a car but always take the bike to go to work which is a 30min drive up and down, and if it rains I still take the bike.
5:35 Even in a bike paradise like there, I see you still have to contend with some idiots
A thing to consider in a next video: Aim your camera for a moment or two at the ANWB signs for cyclists, like the one @8:55
Difficult to watch and enjoy with so many interruptions from adverts.
Use an Adblocker, problem solved.
@@Populiervogel or don't include so many?.
Ken jij deze wegen allemaal of rij je gewoon blind?
gps....
Nice bro
49:34 Arghhh
No big deal at those speeds. The driver did stop in time and apologized.
@@BicycleDutch If only everyone had this temper in traffic.
@@BicycleDutch yes I completely agree, it's not a big deal. Moreover, because of the other car, this was particularly difficult for him that a bike would come
