As soon as you posted your video , I was so happy.😊 I love , love watching you guys. I really appreciate how real you are. I’m in Cooroy QLD, moving to a rental in 5 days, I’m excited about that. Again, I just enjoy sincerity in people. 😊😊
Such a great idea to do a comparison. Thank you for that and for shedding some light in how hard the cost of living has become but also helping others find ways to survive that grocery bill!
It's not just price rising it's also that fact that a lot of items have had shrinkflation . For example in 2019 Lurpak butter came in a kilo tub now it's 750g for the 'same' price. So although prices look like they have come down they have not, because you are having to buy more.
so happy to see an Australian budget!! Its hard to compare Australian cost of living to all the American vlogs. like "get 1Lb of meat for $2" ummm where?! 😆
I enjoyed this price comparison so much. It was so accurate as you went to Coles both times and bought identical brands. So a 24% increase. Still makes for an economical meal.
Things are going up over here in the states as well. Today August 12th is my 60th birthday so I had a coupon for a FREE meal from local restaurant valued at $12. So my son and I went and used it. I did end up spending some money because I got extra stuff but wasn’t to bad.
I have found that the best way for me to save money when grocery shopping is to not bring hubby. He tosses in an extra $100-180 each grocery shop, and he admits that too. When I shop with Mr25 (aka Adult Son who still lives at home), he pays for any food and drink he wants that I do not buy. Even bringing Adult Daughter's children (aka The Grandbabies) is still cheaper than bringing hubby. Hubby's complaint is that I only buy ingredients.
I love this video...I do this price comparison by the month....I have resorted to buying store brands in most things except mustard,to save money and discovered their food is just as good if not not better than brand names...so I am learning as I go...your casserole looked delicious...ty for the recipe ...I certainly will make this because I love freezer meals...I only have myself to cook for now and am in mourning the loss of my lifelong love...so do not enjoy cooking as much as I did but my son and niece fusses at me if I dont eat properly...so I eat when they are here....which is almost every day...ty so much
Hey. I swear I mentioned making this in the comments a couple of videos ago. I bought my chooks from the farmer and this meal is exactly what I made. I have 23 trays sitting in my freezer atm. I add bacon, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower and zucchini to mine as well. Some will be for Xmas time when we go away camping. Thank you for the price comparison video. Should have added what it would cost at woolies. I know you’re not close to an Aldi but I’m around the corner from an Aldi. When I go into Aldi next I’ll take down the prices of the ingredients (if the have them), I add them to the comments for you to compare also. 🤷♀️ Thanks for another video. Absolutely love this recipe, been using it since I started watching you 5 years ago. God bless. ❤
There was no generic brand on the shelves. Using generic brands can definitely make a difference at the check out. 🙂 The "condensed chicken soups and can of corn" substitute isn't in the final price that I used ;-)
Sorry buy tgat too too dry for the foid dish U should of made a white dur sauce with cheese over your dish as it was too too dry big time...😢😢😢😢 better luck next time Or you could of make pumpkin sauce over the food.. Want would it cost you if it was fresh Vegs not frozen...mmm😂😂😂

The inflation that were going through in Aus is real! The cost of living is getting ridiculous. Im so glad you did this. Much love from Victoria ❤

Your hair is lovely jenny
Back then you used store brand condensed chicken, today you used Campbells. That I am sure raised the price extra.
