- Join us as we visit the final resting place of actress Helen Chandler, most notably known as Mina Seward in the 1931 movie DRACULA alongside Horror Legend Bela Lugosi. Helen Chandler died and was cremated on April 30, 1965 and her ashes were kept unclaimed in a basement vault until 2023. Hollywood Graveyard raised enough money to give Helen Chandler a final resting place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery where fans can visit and pay their respects.

It's sad that her ashes was unclaimed since 1965. But it's great her fans got her a final resting place finally.
It is truly awesome that Helen Chandler was able to get a beautiful final resting place!! 🌹 So cool that she was in such an iconic film, one of the ones that started the horror genre!!! 🎥🍿🧛♂️ 🙏🏽🎃🐈⬛
Sad she was left unclaimed since 1965 💔 thanks to Arthur Dark for helping to get her a final resting place and the people who donated 👍. Thanks also to Michael for showing us around those beautiful cemetery 👌. Speaking of dracula bram stokers family are buried here in Dublin Ireland.
Thank you for bring awareness of this great act of kindness for Helen. You and your wife have always told great stories and shown us the human side of so many iconic memories. It was tragic that she had to wait so long to be placed in a proper and fitting final resting place, but really touching that so many came to the call. Thank you Hollywood Graveyard! And thank you Grimms for telling the tale. Rest in peace Helen. God bless!
Much respect to Dark for giving Mira a final resting place and a beautiful one. ❤
I participated in Arthur's Go-Fund-Me campaign for Helen Chandler and look forward to paying my respects soon. On my last trip to Hollywood Forever I literally stumbled across Yma Sumac's 100th anniversary of her birth memorial. A fascinating woman featured in Secrets of the Inca, 1954, with Charlton Heston.
Hollywood Graveyard is another of my favorite channels. So glad to see the successful result of the fundraiser. Thanks Michael ❣️
This is such a great surprise! I feel like Helen doesn't get enough credit and there's shocking little info about her out there. Thank you!
So great to see this dedication to Helen Chandler (That long closeup of Nina's vampiric glare towards Johnathan is my most favorite moment of the '31 film) and Criterion just announced they're releasing a "Sideshow" trilogy of Browning films soon! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
❤Michael And Jessica..Wonderful music And Resting Places Of Helen And the Wonderful Tod Browning..so Happy Helen is Not Forgotten! L❤ve You!🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇❤❤❤❤🦇🦇🦇❤❤❤🦇🦇
She was gorgeous. What a lovely resting place for her. She was Mina, there were no others that compared to her. Thanks, Michael! Happy Halloween! 🧡🖤🧡
Another great video! This one bringing together my two favorite RUclips channels - Grimmlife Collective and Hollywood Graveyard. My girlfriend and I are devotees of both, and watch and rewatch these videos. I was so pleased to have the opportunity to donate to the GoFundMe for Helen Chandler as soon as Arthur Dark announced what he was doing. The original Dracula is one of my all-time favorite films and I have always admired Helen's performance in the film and empathized with the things she went through in her later years. It is fantastic to see her new home! Thanks for posting this video and for shouting out Arthur Dark.
I'm so glad someone cared enough to get her ashes into a beautiful place the urn was gorgeous and the photos were a nice touch.such a tragic story but it had a happy ending, thank you for sharing this.
She had a troubled life to say the least after Dracula. Seems alcohol and depression are always part of the mix that bring so many artists to ruin after they experienced what it’s like to be part of something so iconic. I hope she has found peace and is somehow in a world where she can enjoy it.
Love Hollywood Graveyard 🪦⚰️👍🏽 great service and dedication to an actress who will always be remembered for her roles in Hollywood history. 🧛🏻♂️
Incredible short video, that hits dead center into the 💜 Heart, GriMms... I'm so glad that Helen got her a fine resting place after all this time----- a Grand celluloid hero like her deserves nothing less. Thanks , a million, GriMms 🎃 on covering such a great person.... All is love... :^)"""""""
Thank you for doing this and thank you to those responsible for giving Helen a beautiful final resting place. I hope she is at peace now.
Very nice to see that Ms. Chandler was put into a nice urn and in a very nice permanent place. It's nice that her fans helped her get a final resting place. I enjoyed watching her in Dracula she was fabulous in my opinion.
I'm so happy!! They finally found eachotherr my two favorite RUclipsrs in the same city!!!!
Grimm fan for life here! We love you both! 🧡🖤
Thank goodness for people who love and cherish old movie stars. What a lovely resting place. She can finally be celebrated in a loving way. It’s sad that no one really took her ashes to do that when she passed away. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the process. 🖤😻🖤🌹🖤
I love watch Hollywood graveyard, been watching him for 4 years love em
Absolute great attention to detail. The nice thing about your adventures is that, you and Jessica really care about things. We all love The Grimm Life Collective, and it is an honor and privilege to be part of it. Thank you guy's so very much, and as always, Happy Halloween 🎃💀 witch
There not the one's who got the final resting place for Helen Chandler or anyone else so what you talking about!

What a beautiful niche and urn!! May Helen rest in peace in this lovely place. 🌹💖
Thank you so much for doing this video. I've been a fan of Dracula 1931 since I was 5 years old. I never knew that Helen Chandler's ashes were kept hidden since 1965. That is so sad. I'm glad she's someplace where people can come and pay their respects
Good morning Mr Grimm. Beautiful pictures of Helen Chandler and I love the flowers there
That is horrible how long her ashes went unclaimed! But she finally has a final resting place and she can rest comfortably now! What a beautiful cemetery that is, so glad she was never forgotten after all this time! Looking good as always Michael! 👻🎃❤️ Happy Halloween! 🎃💚🦇👻
I've been a fan of Hollywood Graveyard for years, that's how I found your channel lol
Freaks is FINALLY getting a bluray release, by Criterion (this October). I cannot wait. Superb video. Thank you for honoring this legendary actress.

Great video and classy salute to Dark and his charitable work. Your channel really does a fantastic job of integrating Hollywood history with the way we consume entertainment. You are providing a terrific service, being as good and thorough as you are. Can't wait to go catch up on some classic Dracula, when I get the chance! Thanks.
This is awesome. I love the classic movies. So glad they cared about her!!
Another good video and a sadness to lose an actress Helen Chandler she will be sadly missed, but definitely a nice way to remember her 😊
This is great seeing her nice new resting place. Thanks for bringing our attention to this and also to Andrew (whom I've watch regularly.) What a fabulous thing to do!
So happy she got a proper place to rest peacefully. I actually love the Dracula movie from 1931. I'm thinking I'm an old soul. Thank you ghouls!!! Great upload 😊

Hollywood Graveyard is one of my favourite ever channels on here along with yours so seeing that fundraiser and this was everything. So glad Helen finally has a lovely niche.
Love Hollywood Graveyard. Love your channel too. Thanks for finally doing a graveyard video. They are so much more interesting than the location videos.
Arthur have done an amazing work, thanks to him and all the people of the vlog Hollywood graveyard, that got to her a real final resting place. 🥀⚱️✝️
Sad that nobody of family or relatives claim her ashes..
The original Dracula, one of the movies that freaked me out as a kid. As did most of the monster movies of the era. Great video!😎🤘
I love Art! His channel is the best when it comes to classy and graveyards in one sentence! I love you guys channel too. One of my most favorites! Thank you for sharing this story, I never knew these things about her. 💙
1965 it’s a long time. I am pretty happy she got a final resting place. Thanks fans! And thanks to you for another great video!! ❤
I love the universal monsters and Dracula and draculas daughter are both wonderful movies. Loved her in Dracula so thanks for sharing. I wish you could get to Transylvania to see the castle someday.
Someday we will. Thank you for watching
Yes seeing that castle would be great. I love Dracula. That's great if you could!
This is so awesome, Thank you for sharing...
I'm so surprised that you two just became aware of the great Arthur Dark. I've been a fan and follower for several years now. You guys need to do an interview with him. He has fans all over the world, and those fans have contributed to his channel by doing videos for him at cemeteries all over Europe. I'm glad you finally "Discovered" his wonderful channel, even if it's several years late.
Thank you for all you do!! I'm a big fan of Hollywood Graveyard too. Hopefully a collab soon.
Wow that’s crazy I never heard about of Helen Chandler story, I only know about Bela Lugosi history. Now I have learned so much about Helen Chandler history. Thank you for sharing this another amazing video Michael and Jessica I really enjoyed it, Happy Halloween. 🧛🏻♂️🦇🎃❤️🖤💚
Awesome thing. Mr. Dark with all the people’s donations. 👍👍👍
Very cool thing they did for her....thanks for sharing with us all!
You & Jessica Are Alway's AWESOME 😎💯💫🎥🍿
A fascinating and very respectful video. Best wishes from England.
So cool that people chipped in to give Helen Chandler a permanent resting place. Maria Ouspenskaya, who played Manerva in The Wolf Man, also burned herself up falling asleep with a cigarette in her hand. What a horrible way to die.
When one channel is constantly getting you to watch Dracula again.. 🧛🧛♀️💚🖤
That realy is beautiful btw 🙏
#DraculaCore
@@grimmlifecollective that really is beautiful btw 🙏
Great video, may she now finally Rest In Peace.
That's so awesome she now has a crypt ♥️🖤 love Dracula movies especially the old Dracula movies. Thank you horror buffs ♥️🖤
She was a beautiful woman back in the day and she such did an icon role for dracula. But it was a big thing what she was dealing with. It was a major addiction what she was going through.
There was an article about her in a magazine I used to get when I was a young teenager in early !960s. The article was titled, Helen Chandler, may she long be remembered. The magazine was all about horror films. There was always a section on make-up. I had pictures from the horror films all over my bedroom walls, it drove my father mad, "when's he going to grow up" .
Such a tragic History. Chandler deserves to be better known / exalted in film History. Apparently, she has a Cult of many fans given all the comments. So she's not entirely forgotten. I've viewed several of her films other than Dracula. She was marvelous / sensitive actress, even in Poverty Row dreck like Alimony Madness (32). She has a rather high-pitched eccentric voice that works once you get used to it. She could have been a rival to Katharine Hepburn, as they were both eccentrics and played the same type role. One should become aware that Helen also an Up-and-Coming Broadway Ingenue star in the late 20s. I was amazed to discover to she played "Ophelia" and Ibsen's "Hedwig", so her stage Persona was already tapped for frail "Ethereal" type heroines long before "Mina" in Dracula. reading a Bio on her somewhere, I think Helen's Childhood Past of Trauma, Poverty and "Benign neglect" had something to do with the retreat into alcohol and narcotics, made worse by freewheeling lifestyle of Theatre and the Roaring Prohibition 20s. She's not much different than her contemporaries Jeanne Eagels, Tallulah Bankhead and Louise Brooks in this respect. Glad that she is resting with some Dignity now !
Great video - a lot of info I didn't know about Helen Chandler. Thank you for sharing. I LOVE Hollywood Graveyard! Been a fan for about 3 years (about as long as I've followed y'all). He goes on road trips to tour graveyards all over the US & Europe.
Side Note: The ashes of actors Thomas Mitchell (who played Scarlett O'Hara's dad in "Gone with the Wind" & Uncle Billy in "It's a Wonderful Life) & Edmund Gwenn (who played Kris Kringle aka Santa Claus in "Miracle on 34th Street") also reside, unclaimed, in the Chapel of the Pines.
Happiest Birthday. And many more 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Them Hollywood Graveyard videos are Awesome. Thank you Arthur! ❤
Thanks for sharing, love your show
❤ that is absolutely beautiful. Bless everyone that aided in getting her to her resting spot. Love 😍 love your great videos
Finally the dynamic duo of subsequent horror 😈 is back
Mad respect for that guys did a fun raiser for her and glad she got a final got a resting place rip helen Chandler 💔🙏
Creepy cool vault😮
So sad that her ashes were in the bottom of The Chapel of Pines for years. I'm glad she has a final resting place now. I have a friend in England that said she takes alot of what I view as wonder and amazement as just buildings and monuments. When I visited years ago went to the Tower and stood next to the spot where all those people were beheaded years ago. It was creepy, but all that history amazes me. Thanks for visiting this cemetery. If I'm lucky enough to visit Ca again, I'll have to go there.
Arthur is badass!!
I'm so glad u visited and so glad she was able to have a final resting place.❤
That's amazing! I have seen the 1931 Dracula many times but I never knew what happened to most of the actors afterwards. Also, have you ever seen the Latino version? It was way different than the original version. Maybe one day you could do a video on the life of those actors as well. But I'm also glad someone honored Helen Chandler we can't forget the lives of the old Hollywood actors
It’s so great that the Spanish version is usually packaged with the English version on home releases
Arthur Dark is a great videographer and a wonderful person. He does some high quality mini-movies as well as his usual tours. His Twilight Zone special is my favorite. I saw the Helen Chandler ceremony with speeches and interment as a member of Hollywood Graveyard. Beautiful and moving.
Absolutely amazing
Grimm duo and Arthur of HG... the RUclips cemetery GOATS.
Thanks again for another amazing video!
I got chills just watching this
We know the feeling. I get chills every single day living in Hollywood
Rest In Peace Helen.
Very cool. Hollywood Graveyard is another favourite. Well done and R.I.P., Helen Chandler. 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🍀😎
Arthur is awesome!!! I LOVE his channel!!!
I remember watching the old Dracula. Interesting info. Didn't know much about her but I learn it in here.
Wow love the light up ones 😍
This is a beautyfull cemetery and the background organ Music love it
This is fantastic! I wonder have you guys ever thought about doing a video of Dwight Frye? He was in a lot of the universal horror films, as well as many others after a great Broadway career. He’s buried in Forest Lawn, Glendale. Unfortunately he died very young at 44. I believe his story needs to be told and you guys would be the perfect people to do it!
Hollywood Graveyard is an awesome channel also. Helen Chandler now has a beautiful final resting place. Ty for sharing this Michael,,,,,,😀🖤
Great video! The Grimms Rock!
Wow that is a nice memorial for her
It's funny how I picked this video to watch. I watched Dracula yesterday, 12/25/23. Today, I randomly picked this video to watch. Hope you had a very Merry Christmas (Halloween).
What a beautiful thing he did!
Thank you for sharing. ❤
❤Michael And Jessica..Helen was wonderful in DRACULA❤ sad Death💔
I LOVE Hollywood Graveyard - got me through the pandemic. Really enjoying your vids too, now that I've discovered you. I'm a fellow denizen of LA, BTW.
That's terrible all these years! I hope she can rest in peace!!🙏
Great vlog again Mike and Jess. If you haven’t seen it yet, the new movie Last Voyage of the Demeter is an awesome addition to the Dracula universe.
wow that's crazy that no one claimed Helen's ashes
Yeah, I watch Hollywood graveyard really good and I didn’t know this lady was in Dracula
