The need to give up bigger sleeper options 86” or 90” already. We have to live in these damn things. Give us some more space. How about a bigger fridge. Every truck should come with a dinette table so I can sit back and eat with some sense of home and comfort. How about a full closet that I could hang my clothes without dragging on the bottom.

The manufacturers cater to the biggest customers being the megas me and you may buy 2 or 3 but swift will buy 500 to 1000 a year and since megas don’t want it not a priority

Just like these new 2022 crapcadias a lot of wasted space where storage can be used. Just like angle space above driver and passenger seat it could be designed better and cabinets spaces are pathetic. Small fridge.no place for a tv, tilt/telescopic steering wheel could be better, maybe a truck driver needs to go to the manufacturer and design how interior should look and function.

    • @wes2253
      @wes2253 2 года назад +8

The answer is weight. The more sleeper or gizmos you add, the less weight you can haul, and at the end of the day the mega carriers are who control whats produced, and they are only interested in one thing. $$$$$

The T680 with a 125" BBC compared to a W900 with a 132" BBC should be a fair bit lighter and won't be longer any all if they went out to a 90" sleeper or similar. I'm surprised they haven't gone above 76" due to various people offering larger such as Western Star having 82", Peterbilt 80", KW 86" on the old platform,

Love the wheel, reminds me a lot of the Volvo (which is really good). Good job KW. I also liked the well thought out engine compartments. The coolant placement is a bit odd but I can see the thought behind it. At least the washer fluid is easier to access.

Thank you for not editing out your confusion bloopers, they made my day. I imagined someone driving, trying to adjust the brightness from the wheel and then wondering why they are slowing down...🤣
Great looking truck. I like the digital dash concept and the features it provides. A night mode with red and black would be nice.
I really wish they would change the table to a slide out instead of the swing out style. Ot is always in my way but still good to have.

Love the new look. Under the hood looks like a cluster to work on though. Bet to do a top end set up that coolant tank needs removed now. Change a turbo got to remove the washer fluid reservoir. Nice thing is they don't look like they take long to remove but at the current shop rates it adds up. They need to bring out a bigger fridge for the long haulers inside. It's about time we got some new tech inside. It's been in the automotive sector for years so it should be pretty reliable. Great looking truck to pull dry van or reefer with.

So those LIM switches are actually a speed limit the operator can set. Its pretty useful in moderate traffic when regular cruise can't be used. Just set to 60 and never get a ticket. The blank center switch is used to adjust the ACC following distance and PCC over/undershoot.

Also, when I close my front curtains I find that the track doesn't allow the curtain to move as easily as I'd like it to. Sometimes I have to fight with it to get it to slide. Greetings from the Ohio Porters. 🇺🇸 The overall looks of this rig are cool, more aerodynamic. That’s good. I like the skirting. For years now, the manufacturers have said that full skirting all the way back would give better fuel mileage, and now you say that half of the skirting will give you better mileage. That’s confusing. I like being able to get into the gap behind the cab. Certain trailers require that you get in there to connect/disconnect. I gotta see one of these up close, so I guess it’s time to contact the local Columbus Kenworth dealership. Good stuff.🤩😎✌️

The Cummins engine has a much better reputation.
I am not fond of these new digital dashes either. One fuse pops or connection comes loose and your entire gauge cluster is gone, which means you don't know your speed, or air pressures, or coolant temps, etc etc.. I don't even want to think about what that dash would cost to replace (never mind the downtime). I prefer to have an analog speedometer, tachometer and air pressure gauges - the rest can be digital.
The sleeper looks decently equipped (but every driver puts different stuff in it). I'd probably drive one if I was a company driver, but I don't think I'd buy one.

I work for a local milk hauler. My boss has a whole fleet of mostly paccar mx13s. He's had allot of issues with that junk engine. His most recent 4 trucks, all Cummings. He wont buy another paccar. It even worse when the loads regularly gross over 100k. Even with an 18 manual it still hates hills

@@aitransportservicesllc584 the truck i personally drive is a 2017 T880 18 manual paccar engine. it has been fairly reliable but only has 163K on it. the company has 14 trucks with this engine and overall track record has been poor. they just replaced a paccar engine with 300K on it.
we are hauling milk and the loads are on overweight permits

Makes sense that Paccar wants to tap into the Volvo/Cascadia fleet truck market. Always enjoy the videos Andy ! Look forward to the next T800 video. Best truck ever made and always will be , it can be whatever you want it to be..

@@mikevincent5606 sorry bro had an off day. And although I don't think t800 is best I am a Pete and kw fan and I drive a 680 and love it. But honestly I'd have a t800 over it. Fav kw is w9l and I think favorite truck in general for me is the 379 I have driven all and there's just something about the Pete especially when customized that turns me on. I'm actually going to be buying a friend of mine 2003 customized Pete 379 and it has a cat 6nz and he's totally rebuilt everything in it. It's unusually nice. And he giving me a great deal of 55,000. But I'd also own a t8 or w9. All of are good if specd right

That is an absolutely beautiful truck, I love the exterior lines and the headlights look great......the all digital dash looks fantastic, not sure why they kept the analog gauges except that they may be easier to read at a quick glance, I dunno.

I hate aerodynamic trucks but having said that this one looks pretty good. With that much paint on the front it should come standard with 3M to protect it from rock chips. And I can see that "bin" type looking compartment in front of the front wheels filling up with icy slush on winter roads!
