How many bands can say they are fortunate enough to have a resident Bard on staff to help keep their spirits up? I could picture Troy back in medieval times wandering into a bar with a mandolin or something and earning food and drink all evening playing, singing, and telling stories.
Troy: "somebody gotta do it and it`s not going to be him" and then points at Tuomas.. lmao 😂
I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion, but if they ever pull The Carpenter back out of mothballs again, I honestly think Tuomas should do the vocals for it. Troy is good, definitely, but personal taste here, I loved Tuomas's voice in that one song.
Tuomas has some astonishing talents, but singing is really not one of them....
@@30110CKs Oh, I'll admit that at best, Tuomas has a decent karaoke voice, he's not a singer. I still like how he sounds in The Carpenter, though.

Donna C, 'mate' is also a term commonly used in the UK and as Troy is English that's possibly why Tuomas is using it referring to his friend and bandmate. Happy now? or have I inadvertently offended somebody else by mistake - again.

Hih...you must travel to Kitee. There is so called KIMAF happening every July where international fans go together to do art and songs (NW covers) plus meet NW members. Tuomas is there like an ordinary person on the ground among everybody. There you can go near by a campfire, into sauna with him and maybe you can kiss him too ; )

Yes Troy, the fans love your singing . Still missing Marko, but you were always singing your parts/backing vocals, and now we can enjoy your singing more, very much more, please keep on with it. AURI or NIGHTWISH. Luckily I do not have to choose, I can listen to all songs. What a richness, to be able to! Thankfully. Great interview. Tuomas and Troy , happy and relaxed talking about everything.
They needs to find a vocal replacement for Marco. Someone with some grit. Troy didn't cut it sadly.

honestly I think that Troy is ok for some backing vocals, but is not so good for main parts. I hope they find a real male singer

Yes, that was great interview! Thank you! Agree with previous commentor about ambience noise that distracting a lot. Sometimes just subs help to understand what they are saying. And WHAT they are saying! Troy is so funny!! Huge thank to him not only for that extra duty he has to do after Marko left, but also how he talks about it.

Great interview and exciting news ahead for both Nightwish and Auri fans! Just, tiny suggestion, maybe next time don´t do the interview in a bar/restaurant, please? Despite the microphones, the background noise (cutlery, music, laughter, random chat) gets in the way and can´t really hear what they´re saying at certain times. But, thank you anyway for this!
It is explained already that the memory card broke so we had to use camera audio for it. Yes it takes some noise (haha) but the restaurant was completely empty when this was done 😊 Just need to buy a new card as it was corrupted. 😊

Great interview. I agree that Troy's singing suits NW very well. Has Tuomas/NW mentioned how they are thinking of replacing Marco's vocals in songs like Poet and the Pendelum (second robber to the right of christ....), slaying the dreamer (wake up mow the weed......) etc where Marco's singing is much more than back-up singing?
Those probably aren't coming back to the set ever again. Troy just doesnt have that aggression.

3 year for a new album is too long, time does not wait for them, I think if Tuomas made an effort and concentrated on nightwish,he could easily release a new album in 2022,there are famous singers who wrote an album in a month, and these albums became famous.

@@hamohamo8270 comparing Nightwish to famous singers who most likely dont even write their own music is quite absurd if you ask me. You should listen to the songs a bit more carefully to understand how many different layers these songs have. They are not possible to write within a day for sure...
@@chaoszine Oh, I know very well that nightwish songs are complex and have different layers, I do not mean that Tuomas wrote an album in a month, but as I wrote, if Tuomas had made an effort and concentrated on nightwish, he could have easily released new album in 2022 year, and don't you know the singers who wrote their own songs?

For Tuomas{andTroy} Nightwish has become the side band! They spend too much on theire Auri thing. How long was Anette thesinger and how many albums did shedo, and than compare to Floor!. Since Troy entered the band Tuomas focus was not more on Nightwish, my opinion! Ilike Toy s musician skills but for Nightwis not so good, I think it is one of the reasons why Marco left, his roll became so little because Troy took over with help from his friend Tuomas! in my opinion, don t be mad at me

Not at all. Next year is booked for Nightwish. And 2023 is booked for new Nightwish album. Auri is the
side project.
Nightwish is Tuomas' lifework. He is not gonna stop it just like that. Many musicians are in two or more bands. Steve Harris (Iron Maiden, Britsh Lion) and Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour) for example. And they are also essential part of their bigger bands.
Actually Tuomas is in three bands these days. Nightwish, Auri and Darkwoods My Betrothed.
The name is Tuomas and in 10:18 he said; "Nightwish is still the big ship and the priority for us all..." I guess you missed that?sad
