We clearly can see how this theme with lineup changes effects him. He’s very positive man but still some subjects hurts him deeply. I’m so happy that they decided to continue the band.
Gábor Schermann I think he has the picture after first rehearsals with new lineup, but of course the show is more important. But it better be live crowd of course so he can really see the feedback. I’m not sure how it will work in virtual world. And again, if he reserved the studio for new album recording he must be pretty positive about the future.

I think this guy was in his phonebook already, and he's Finnish, probably well known otherwise. He just shoot a call: "You comin'?" - "Yep" (Finns don't like to talk too much). After 25 years in musical circus I guess you gather a bunch of friends with high musical skills. If we think, 2 last replacements was exactly like that, Floor and Kai both was like buddies from the same circle. One thing I find out about the Tuomas when we talk about new members for the band, for him the personality is, I guess more even important that musicality, it's just great luck that there's no bad musicians in that finish metal scene :) But my point is that new bassist should be someone that he knows for ages. But yes, soon we will see :)

The ones who thought the same when the breakup with Tarja took place except now they are worried because of Marko's departure. Life, and Nightwish, will go on and some new base guitarist?, vocalist?, guitarist/vocalist? will have a marvelous opportunity to prove themselves with a legendary band.
The positive news is that Tuomas has a sight to the future and the fans are not going away ;-) So I only see a good outcome. Can't wait to see the virtual show. Still, I hope that Marco is doing well, saw a video of a gig he did not so long ago, so at least he's alive and kicking.
Been a fan since early 2000s, I went through the line up changes along with Tuomas and the band and if I can only say one thing is this: As long as you have music you wish to share with the world, the fans will be there to listen and enjoy it with you. Thank you for the good work

Bless Tuomas, it’s been quite the ride for him and Emppu at this stage as the only original band members left. I’m glad they decided to keep going, but is so sad to see him obviously distressed when talking about Marco, very sad but the hint of optimism in his eyes is always gratifying. Fantastic job on this interview guys, ALSO if I ever get asked about what’s the most Finnish thing i have ever witnessed, i will refer them to this interview and to Kimi Raikkonen ones xD. The simple thought that nightwish was that close to calling it quits is hard to process. I am so incredibly happy they stuck to a positive mindset and kept going. He gave me a lot of reassurance about the future to come
Indeed. Of course many of us may have feared the worst, but to hear him say those words...and then continue on to be optimistic and positive and determined. Absolutely made my day! And they are apparently thinking in terms of phases - he did point out that this would be the tour bass player. I always prefer to take the days as they come, and then strive to leave space available for the unexpected or even the hoped for and magical! When I first read Marko's statement about leaving Nightwish I was so scared that this would be the end of the band. I'm still sad about his resignation and I will miss him dearly and wish him all the best but my eyes just filled with tears of joy hearing Tuomas say that they still have so much more music to give and many more stories to tell and that they've already reserved the studio for recording a new Nightwish album in 2023. I hope that the amazing energy and the unique companionship of the band will continue and that the new bass player will receive the same warm welcome that Floor, Troy and Kai received some years ago! :)

In stead he makes a list of what he wants to do and accomplish. That is so admirable! He brightened up all of our days by telling us about the future album!
It might sound as a cliche to say but Tuomas is my huge role model! I admire his possitivity and optimistic approach and it's so wonderful to know that the band will move on. Of course I already miss Marko very dearly and I will miss those songs that Tuomas has mentioned in this interview, but then again we have that old material to enjoy and listen that will be forever in the band's history. He hit the nail on the head when called this worldwide catastrophic event “nonsense.” We shouldn’t give any credence to it or allow it to affect our music in any way. I am glad Floor is feeling better in time for the virtual show. It’s sad to see Tuomas agonize over Marko leaving and having to replace him. I am glad that Nightwish is going to continue. Thank you for this interview in English. The interviewer was very good and respectable. I only found out about Nightwish a couple of years ago, and the upcoming virtual concert will be my first. I hope to attend an actual live concert soon when they come to the United States!

The wheels carry us, fans, on music and artistry of combination of ppl in nightwish. Line up of a band changes but the vehicle of Nightwish never stopped, we had the privilage to experience 3 awesome singers bringing uniqe perspective, changes of members and struggle formed today's Nightwish and I am just happy I can be here, watch and listen (scream it in the car 😂🤣🚙)... I am gonna miss Marco tremendously. But I will stand by and with this band till the end till the music is still there ❤️

I saw That show In The hague, my sister bought tickets because she knew I liked Floor Jansen. Last live show I saw on the first of February 2020. En dan in het Nederlands he. Den Haag is reteduur om the parkeren.
We saw a relaxed Tuomas up to 13:55 then “the Marko question” - uncomfortable until 15:55 and he says “enough of that”. Hmm... 🤔 16:18 - 16:28 Tuomas was looking away when you mentioned losing Marko was a particularly “big blow to the band because Marko’s role was quite important to the band”. You did a great job interviewing him in a respectful way, I think that’s why Tuomas revealed the 10th album studio news with you. It sounds like NW continues... another chapter of the NW journey!
I hope they can make it to LA in October. That said, I would prefer they be safe if they're not sure they should. I do wish I could afford a ticket to the virtual as well as the live, considering the live might not happen. I need to write them a letter and tell them just how much their music has helped me.
I hope the 10th album is heavier than Human Nature, and interesting that the bass player is a session player and not permanent very strange hoping for a Marko return later
I’m just curious how the absence of Mario will affect the direction of the next album. Will he have Floor and Empuu involved more in the writing? Will he make it more guitar oriented this time, and cut back on the folk melodies? Only time will tell.
Perhaps is it is a idea to open a fund to help technical people in bad times like covid,( i think that it will be staying with us for a long time) so that they can support their families in troubled times, we as a public have enjoy their work on stage, even we dont see them. And not only for the Technical people from Nightwish, but all people. Perhaps made a funds with tickets and cd's selling. I dont mind for it.
I have tickets to the NW concert scheduled for October 5, 2021 in New York City, N.Y. USA, and did not hear any mention of the US shows at all. What is the outlook for those concerts?

Since year 2005 when Tarja left.... Tuomas and Emppu have been the only original members.

Well it certainly looks like a very bright future now. Tuomas in creative mode, new energy from a new bassist - Floor planned her surgery very well😅 and have been keeping her voice well oiled, Kai is also ready and busy on YT and drums.

Tuomas is one of the greatest of the modern musical composers. He hit the nail on the head when called this worldwide catastrophic event “nonsense.” We shouldn’t give any credence to it or allow it to affect our music in any way. I am glad Floor is feeling better in time for the virtual show. It’s sad to see Tuomas agonize over Marko leaving and having to replace him. I am glad that Nightwish is going to continue. Thank you for this interview in English. The interviewer was very good and respectable. I only found out about Nightwish a couple of years ago, and the upcoming virtual concert will be my first. I hope to attend an actual live concert soon when they come to the United States!

The wheels carry us, fans, on music and artistry of combination of ppl in nightwish. Line up of a band changes but the vehicle of Nightwish never stopped, we had the privilage to experience 3 awesome singers bringing uniqe perspective, changes of members and struggle formed today's Nightwish and I am just happy I can be here, watch and listen (scream it in the car 😂🤣🚙)... I am gonna miss Marco tremendously. But I will stand by and with this band till the end till the music is still there ❤️

We saw a relaxed Tuomas up to 13:55 then “the Marko question” - uncomfortable until 15:55 and he says “enough of that”. Hmm... 🤔
16:18 - 16:28 Tuomas was looking away when you mentioned losing Marko was a particularly “big blow to the band because Marko’s role was quite important to the band”.
You did a great job interviewing him in a respectful way, I think that’s why Tuomas revealed the 10th album studio news with you. It sounds like NW continues... another chapter of the NW journey!

Perhaps is it is a idea to open a fund to help technical people in bad times like covid,( i think that it will be staying with us for a long time) so that they can support their families in troubled times, we as a public have enjoy their work on stage, even we dont see them. And not only for the Technical people from Nightwish, but all people. Perhaps made a funds with tickets and cd's selling.
I dont mind for it.

I have tickets to the NW concert scheduled for October 5, 2021 in New York City, N.Y. USA, and did not hear any mention of the US shows at all. What is the outlook for those concerts?
I assume they start playing as soon as its possible. There is even 2 Finnish shows for July which are not yet officially cancelled... 😊
