Shame on the moon, fire lake. Or some old stuff like Kathmandu and travelin' man. Hollywood nights, main street...hell, where does it end?!! We haven't even talked about night moves.
Here’s a little something for you. Bob had been on the morning show on KQRS 92 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and they asked him about this song. 12 hours out of Mackinaw City, Michigan he had stopped just out of Rochester, Minnesota. He said that he didn’t go to a bar but climbed into a hot bath to thaw out because it was in the spring time.
You could spend hours listening to Seger and not hear a bad song. The man is an incredible songwriter. The rabbit hole is very, very deep. He has so many great songs it's impossible to pick just one to recommend so i'm gonna say Hollywood Nights and Turn the Page. Maybe Old Time Rock and Roll, too. Jeez, and just so, so many more.
Sal are you from Michigan too like me and Bob? Bob is such a down to earth family man. He takes his wife and kids well he did when they were young just anywhere..no bodyguards...no famous ego..He would sit and talk with ya awhile. He did not like being away from his family as in Turn The Page..he actually hated being away from home.
I'm 57 now. I know most of Bob Seger's songs and even have most of his albums. But he was never in my top tier of rock artists. Until about 2 years ago when I started to really appreciate the way he paints a picture with his lyrics. He is an absolute genius and I am kicking myself for never getting to see him live, even though I could have hundreds of times over the years.
So many of Bob’s songs are the kind you really want to listen to when driving. You have to be careful because before you know it, the song and the music will have you accelerating beyond the speed limit. Love Bob and The Silver Bullet Band. Thanks for the great reaction. 👍👏👏
" oh please react to "Like A Rock" it is one of my and I assume many, many others favorite Bob Seger songs. It resonates so much with me. Makes me think of times gone by and how much different I was back in my early years, how strong I was in every aspect of the word. It was a very popular song, as Chevrolet used it in their adds and commercials for the Chevy Truck. I would be astonished if it doesn't ring a bell with you. If you do react to it, use the official video, it does add something more to the meaning of this great track. I love how you research each song and even look into what instruments the band is playing. There is a fabulous guitar solo in this beautiful song as well. Would be great to get your reaction to it. Have a blessed day, love your channel.
Oh my God, does this take me back. Thank you so much for listening to Bob Seger.. 61 years old and his music still gives me chills. It brings back so many emotions from my days in junior high and high school.
This will be played at mine and my husbands funeral…. We had his song Famous Final Scene played at our sons funeral. I have loved Bob since I was 12 what a great understated artist
This is my favorite Seger song, and when I finally got to see him live a few years ago and he sang this . . . . . . I just cried . . . . I was really there!!!
He has such a huge catalog....some deeper cuts Bob Seger System ~ Lucifer / ramblin gamblin man . We've got tonight/ you'll accompany me.....plus all the hits....last time I saw him , he played almost 3 hours of hits.
This was opening song on several tours! I have seen Seger a ton of times! 26 times on his last tour alone!! Need to check out the song Rock and Roll Never Forgets!! That is what he has been closing concerts with since like 83 until his last show. One of if not the best written and performed rock song of all time! Seger won the Mackinaw race once!!
The cover art is from the video for Like A Rock. I listen to that song almost every night. Now, it holds a different meaning to me. At 56 with 3 incurable diseases, remembering when I was like a rock brings back such memories.
Bob Seger was my husbands favorite artist. This song brings back memories of us cruising across America on our Harley. Our journey together ended when he passed 10 years ago after 38 years of marriage. I haven’t been back on a bike since. Ride free Easy, we’ll ride together again someday
Absolutely, hands down my favorite song by Bob. It hits home for me also, being a biker. What a fantastic lifestyle it is. Lyrically it’s a masterpiece. Thanks ✌🏼😎
I live in Michigan and go to Mackinac City frequently. My family and I saw Bob there just walking down the street. When people noticed him they just said “ Hi Bob, we love you “ for the most part. It was awesome 😎
Growing up in Detroit Bob Seger hammered the radio along with Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, the Rockets music was so fun back then. Check out a song by the Rockets called “turn up the radio“
Born in Detroit then at age 5 his family moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. One of the long list of music brought to you from the D....I'd start listing, but it's soooo long.
As a high school senior when this song released it affected who I was. I wanted to get on making my own live without anyone telling me what to do. My wife and I played it leavening our wedding reception 32 years ago and last weekend going on a spur of the moment trip. Best Seger keyboard song hands down is Brave Strangers. Seconded by Bruce Hornsby playing keys on the album title track the fire inside.
You haven't even reached his 3 most well known yet... old time rock n roll...like a rock turn the page...or the hidden gems still the same , Famous final scene...this truly is a deep rabbit hole...what probably 20 left you must hear
Bob is from the Detroit area, so he was about 5 hours out of Mackinaw City. Along with Turn the Page, my favorites are Strut, Come to Poppa, Betty Lou, Rock and Roll Never Forgets, and Shakedown
Been listening to Bob since they 70's. There is something in his music that just goes to your soul. This is one of my favorites, I could listen to it on repeat for hours. Against the Wind will always be my song (if forced to choose). Give it a listen.
Thanks for doing my request, this man can tell a story. My fav BS song.... this song makes your heart swell, you can feel the wind in your hair with a babe hanging on. you can play any song off the ultimate hits next bro.
When I was your age we had to stand in line at the record store to get concert tickets. People would camp out for days to get tickets. Bob Seger would sell out our 15k seat auditorium in less than an hour. Unfortunately, I never got to see him in his prime but a few years ago I finally got to see him and it was still amazing. He played for 3 hours and still had lots of his popular songs that he didn't do. The concert checked off a bucket list item. With the death of many and the price of tickets now I am thinking I will not get to a chance to check off many more. I see a lot of suggestions but I haven't seen Fire Lake on here yet. It is an absolute favorite of mine. Even if you don't do a reaction to it you should give it a listen. I also suggest that if you know that you're not going to do one of his songs, listen to it anyways. You will find that a lot of artists deep cuts on albums will end up being a favorite. For me Journey has many many songs that didn't make it to radio that are as good if not better than the singles put out.
I’ve made a list of my all time favorite songs and this song and Night Moves are on my list. I agree this is a song that just grabs you and holds on throughout the whole song
I had the pleasure of seeing Bob live twice, the first time was front row tickets I won on the radio, lifetime memory. He opened the concert with this song
Piano or synth is a "staple" on most songs. It makes up one third of the rhythm section, or the foundation of music (drums, bass guitar, and piano). Many artists contain piano, even if they aren't a prominent feature.
I feel like it could be a movie 🎥!!! So many of his songs I would watch as a 🍿!!! Song suggestions Rambling Gambling Man Hollywood Nights The Fire Down Below Come To Pappa There are so many more!!!
An excellent road/rabbit hole to go down. Bob Seger is a true legend. And one of the best rock n roll story tellers, ever! I've been listening to him since age 16 in 1976. He has MANY great song, Bro. Enjoy the ride.
Thanks for covering that!! I agree with your point of not watching an accompanying video at times. Do yourself a favor and watch the official video for this. In this case, it’ll blow you away.
I have seen Seger twice....once for this tour in 1983 and also 1986. Two incredible shows! He has such a wide appeal with his timeless music...there will never ever be another person like him. Here's a really good live version of this song if you want to see him perform: ruclips.net/video/TEBwq4A1wsU/видео.html
This one needs to be played loud. Then for a soft touch give Living Inside My Heart a try. It was the B side of some other hit. I had Living played for my wedding.
Shame on the moon, fire lake. Or some old stuff like Kathmandu and travelin' man. Hollywood nights, main street...hell, where does it end?!! We haven't even talked about night moves.
I am 59 years old and every time I hear him my heart skips a beat!!! Listened to him all throughout my high school years!!! He’s FIRE 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Same here
Lots of people react to Bob and it is a deep rabbit hole but I never hear anyone give I Feel Like A Number a try. A great, ahead of its time song.
Another one never reacted to is Till It Shines!
Lots of Seger's songs in movies. Feel Like A Number was in a good scene in Body Heat. I also think Brave Strangers never received its due.
@@dcb113 Great tunes! I always liked "Understanding" from "Teachers".
The group has a lot of good songs, but nobody will ever top this one.
In my opinion the greatest rock storyteller of all time. I adore this man's music.
They are the best ! Not a bad song. Listen to them all. I will watch them all
Watch Her Strut, Feel Like a Number, Night Moves - pretty much everything he wrote!
Sal are you from Michigan too like me and Bob? Bob is such a down to earth family man. He takes his wife and kids well he did when they were young just anywhere..no bodyguards...no famous ego..He would sit and talk with ya awhile. Bob Seger live is unbelievable, seen him a few times going back to the late 70’s early 80’s into the 2000’s, never disappoints 😎
Some of us lived some of those experiences and some wish they had. I’m grateful to the genius in him that wrote these verses and notes and riffs

@@bostonwhofan by the way, I was born and raised in Boston, moved to Texas in 1979 after high school, 😎
So jealous!
@@bostonwhofan Always one of the top concert draws, for good reason.
I've heard this song before and I still get the chills from that power voice and soul that that makes Seger so good.
So many of Bob’s songs are the kind you really want to listen to when driving. You have to be careful because before you know it, the song and the music will have you accelerating beyond the speed limit. Love Bob and The Silver Bullet Band. Thanks for the great reaction. 👍👏👏
One of the best songwriters/storytellers ever. He really doesn't have a bad song.

Bob Seeger… UNDERSTANDING
'FEEL LIKE A NUMBER' by Bob Seger..IS A JAM!! Oh, and 'HOLLYWOOD NIGHTS' too!!
Oh my God, does this take me back. Thank you so much for listening to Bob Seger.. 61 years old and his music still gives me chills. It brings back so many emotions from my days in junior high and high school.

Sunspot Baby would be a great Seger song for you to react to! Some gritty vocals.
My favorite!
One of my favorites...great choice!
His sax player “Alto Reed” was unbelievable as well, unfortunately he passed back in December is 2020
Like a Rock, Old Time Rock n Roll, We've Got Tonight, Turn the Page
Teller of stories!! That's Seger..anyone can relate to his music, it always takes me back to a place and time...somewhere...music like a time machine.
Hollywood Nights will give you the same feeling.
Old Time Rocking Roll, Fire Down Below, Katmandu, Main Street are great Bob Seger songs. Seger is one of the best musicians to come out of Michigan!!
Gotta add Night Moves to that list. I don't know why the 'reactors' skip over Katmandu. It's a true rocker.
The cover art is from the video for Like A Rock. I listen to that song almost every night. Now, it holds a different meaning to me. At 56 with 3 incurable diseases, remembering when I was like a rock brings back such memories.
Sending strength. 🤘🏼👩🏻

Can't go wrong with Bob Seger. Her strut is great. There's too many songs to list. Great reaction. Also Fire down below.
Against the Wind, Beautiful Loser, so many greats!
Close your eyes and realize the story, the moment, absolutely breathtaking!
Bob is the best story teller in music in my opinion. Absolutely Genius!!!
YEAHHHH, HE TAKES YOU RIGHT INTO HIS SONGS, THAT'S VERY TRUE! 😊 WAY TO FEEL IT SALVO!😊

Rock n roll never forgets...
Brings back a lot of memories. My mom passed away last Friiday. She loved these and Roid Stuart
I've never heard his music described like that, you nailed it.
I live in Michigan and go to Mackinac City frequently. My family and I saw Bob there just walking down the street. When people noticed him they just said “ Hi Bob, we love you “ for the most part. It was awesome 😎

I adore Bob and want this song played at my Memorial Service. It works on so many levels, mundane, spiritual, transcendental.

The Fire Inside, another underrated song, another story told by Bob.

Seeing him live in '78 was amazing! He was every bit as great live as on his records. Unbelievable talent!
One of America's great story tellers.
Exactly what music should be and sound like.

I vote for Turn the Page :) that's a great story
