Bob's concerts are legendary. He is the GOAT as a performer, songwriter, storyteller, musician and a great person. Have never heard a bad Bob Seger song. Miss his tours. ❤
Such an awesome story teller. There is not one bad Bob Seger song. Loving your channel. Been binge watching! I’m just a old hippie lady that loves seeing younger generations appreciate the music I was so privileged to grow up on.
I first heard this song in the 1982 movie "Reckless". Anyone else? And indeed, Aidan Quinn picks up cheerleader Daryl Hannah at high school and they roll away on his motorcycle. Where are they going? How will they make it? What will come next? No one knows, but they buck all standard conventions and disapproving friends and hit the highway together! Ahhh, young love!
I'm a Gen Xer. I fell in love with an OC Cali girl in 2006. I was 40, she was 23. She hurt me saying she never heard of Bob Seger. So I made a CD, and in our rented convertible, going from LA to Las Vegas, I played my CD north of Barstow, CA. We got 30 miles from NV and she heard this and flipped out. She couldnt believe that she had never heard this. She told me to play it again..and as we crossed into Nevada by Whiskey Pete's Casino, she was standing up in convertible screaming this song! The pure joy of seeing her bury herself inside this song made me smile with a tear. A true moment between us. It could have been in a movie. Love you still Nicole!
Great live video of the later Bob Seger, a bit like Springsteen, but still had the "positive dirt" in his voice, while Bruce briefly drifted completely into pop BITUSA. Live Bullet 1976/mostly rock and Nine Tonight 1981/rock+ballads are brilliant live albums by Bob Seger. Keep up going!!!
It's Detroit rock! Some of the scenery in the video is shot in Bob's (and my) beautiful home state of Michigan. Including the opening shot of the 5 mile long Mackinac Bridge, linking Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas at the Straits of Mackinac, where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron meet. Reflects the opening line of "12 hours out of Mackinaw City", the town at the southern end of the bridge.
Saw Bob and the Silver Bullet Band in the late 80’s. Don Brewer, Grand Funk Railroad’s drummer played with them-big, booming bass drum. This song blew the roof off.
This has become my favorite Seger song. It speaks to unspoken thoughts, similar to what you were saying. You're also correct about Bob personally. He's widely considered one of the nicest, most genuine artists in the industry. I knew he couldn't play forever, but I sure miss his concerts.
I was lucky enough in 1986 when I got out of the Navy add Harley that I had bought while I was in I left San Diego in May I didn't get back to the Chicago area til almost November I hit the lower 48 something I'm so glad I was able to get off my bucket list
He is very special in that regard. It's impressive how his music constantly feels like you're talking to an older brother or uncle and they're sharing a heart-to-heart story with you
You can’t ever choose a bad Seger song, just a few that are real bangers that people don’t mention often are Get Out of Denver,Fire Down Below and one of my favorites and a cover of Ike and Tina Turner’s Nutbush City Limits.
I've seen Bob & The Silver Bullet Band over 40 times... and it never got old! Amazing live performances! This happens to be my favorite song... of anyone, of all time. Thanks for having it on your channel!
SO HIS BIGGEST HIT BY FARRRRR SHAWN IS : NIGHT MOVES😊 DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'VE DONE, I DIDN'T LOOK YET😮, UMMMM ANOTHER GR888 ONE YOU WOULD LOVE WOULD BE : AGAINST THE WIND 😊 SO MANYYYY BIG HITS AND DEEP TRACKS YOU CAN DO FOR SURE SHAWN!
Damn! Bob Seger almost always makes me feel something. This is such a fantastic song, one I can relate to as well, though my mode of travel that summer after graduating high school was to hitchhike from Breckenridge MN to Colorado Springs to party with some friends for a week before hitchhiking back home. This song has got that "special Seger sauce" that all of his songs have, with the addition of seriously high energy. I think your interpretation is far more accurate than the one that you read on the website. Another one of his with infectious high energy is called Katmandu, it's not as deep as this one, but it'll definitely keep your toes tappin', your head bobbin', and your cheeks grinnin'.
❤That freedom on 2 wheels. My husband n i both ride our Harley. If we go out to play pool etc, n he wants to drink, he gladly gets on the back. Guys try to tease him about it, but he gladly says " hey, she's gonna get us home safe... she's got skills, 🤣"
I had the 45 single when this came out. One of my favorites of his. I saw Bob & the Silver twice live. And the audience just erupts with joy at so many songs.
I just feel like singers who really perform and put on a show probably equally have the best crowd participation because the energy is infectious. I know his concerts had to be amazing
Awww That was **Beautiful** when ya were talkin bout wanting to **Escape** i myself am always feelin that way **LeSigh** once again fab reaction YAY **PixieHugz&Luvz** **TwirlsIntoTheWonderOEscape**
Man takes me back to those all nighters rolling through the Rockies. Late night radio played a lot of Seger tunes. Bob Seger is road music. Saw him in Bakersfield in 1978 during his Stranger in Town tour. Great show. Did 3 encores!
If you can find the movie Mask (the version with Bob Seger music versus Bruce Springsteen), this song as well as other Seger songs are placed perfectly in many scenes. The last 2 times I saw him tour he opened with this one. The whole crowd goes wild.
First time I ever heard this song was in the movie, Mask. Great movie-especially if you don’t mind crying your eyes out at the end when Ripple by Grateful Dead is playing. Gets me every time.
I never knew that there were two different versions, based on the soundtrack. I wouldn't have thought that anyone would do that. I haven't seen the movie, since I was a kid or a teenager. I'll look into it.
*This and "Against The Wind" are on my main two riding playlists. What you talked about made me think of a couple songs that you should check out.* Dave Fenley - Getaway Iron Maiden - Wildest Dreams

Probably tied for first with The Boss and the WHO!
Agreed
This man is an American treasure.
I saw him live finally in 2019 at The forum in Los Angeles. Every song sounded just perfect including this one
This albums was an absolute GEM from Bob Seger. I have played this so many times I've lost count years ago
Such an awesome story teller. There is not one bad Bob Seger song. Loving your channel. Been binge watching! I’m just a old hippie lady that loves seeing younger generations appreciate the music I was so privileged to grow up on.
Moved from Boston to the country in Texas, traded the city and concrete for pastures and horses, never looked back, rolled me away 😎🤠🐴
Saw him 6 times. The GOAT. Not a bad song in his catalog.
Always have...always will love Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet. This one's definitely one of many faves...🎤🎶🇨🇦
l love bob seger's voice with its husky rasp and l love his songs too
One of my favorites. Great story.

Uau que lindo era isso que eu queria fazer andar em um conversível gritando essa música 🥰❤❤❤❤

Another great Bob tune! Any Playlist that doesn't include at least half a dozen Bob Seger tunes is incomplete.

Completely agree. My favorite Bob Seger song, too. Reaches into my soul every time I hear it. Great comment.
THE LEGEND
This is one of my favorite Bob Seger songs. Another along this line is Fire Lake.

You can’t miss with anything that Bob does. I can’t really think of one Bob Seger song that doesn’t touch your soul.
He is very special in that regard. It's impressive how his music constantly feels like you're talking to an older brother or uncle and they're sharing a heart-to-heart story with you

He's perfect for driving music, whether it's a short drive or a long haul.
I love it, he definitely really put his soul into that song.....he is the best!!!!!🎉😂❤
You REALLYneed to watch the live video of "Hollywood Nights ". It's Bob in his prime in the '70's. And he ROCKS!.
Now I want to pack up and go again.
A must to check out is Bob's "The famous final scene" .. It's Bob at his absolute best
Roll me away, too !!!!
I'm in the same boat! 😅
He was my first concert back in high school. After that I saw him 3 more times. He was and still is hard to beat
OH MANNNNNN, LOOK AT YOU!!! 👍😊 SO COOL SHAWN, LUVVVVVV IT!!!💯

Bob brings us into every story like we are in it.
that is the greatest version of this song i ever saw the emotion and power wow...
Singing with his soul 🤘
Bob was on fire with this song.
Makes me want to just take off.
You can't find a bad Bob Seger song. Hard to say of most singer-songwriters.
One of many of my fav Bob Seger songs. Such an amazing catalogue ✌❤

You get it man. Thanks for reacting
This song is timeless! It's like a motion picture it's huge & grand mixed with beautiful! It just has always spoke to my soul❤️
Love this track. The guy just knows how to craft a song.
Try "Sunspot Baby" sometime, a classic Seger tune.
Forgot to request Get out of Denver, from this same album. Great cut.
So many great Bob Seger songs to dive into!!

@@cocoboobenstein whoever chose the songs for that movie deserved an award. Completely brilliant and the last 15 minutes of that movie still gets me.
@@laurakali6522 Haven't seen the movie anywhere in a long time. You're right about it being a perfect soundtrack.
