Which would ou recommend? For a non gigging musician but records electric and acoustic. Hx Stomp sounds a bit tad better.

It depends on the models, for the price I think HX Stomp is the better option. Adjust both and they will sound the same. Stomp cannot copy amps but it’s fun to dial it to sound on par with the top modelers, depending on the amps.

My answer is that it depends. I think Quad Cortex is great if you already use real amps and want to capture, or if there are artist presets/captures you want. Helix (Stomp or full Helix) undercuts QC by price, however, and IMHO the dials correspond to the real amps pot values a bit better.

Haven't had enough time with it since I just got it, but the presence and bright switch options are things I was always missing with other Oranges I've tried (including my Super Crush).

Ahah I was not happy with the stock amps on the Quad Cortex. I exactly did what you did and captured my favourite Helix Amps
I was so fan of the Neural DSP Cali plugin so I captured the Cali plugin aswell
