  • Bobby sings the song that he wrote then Marty does it. The flip side of 'Not So Long Ago.'

Uncle Bishop died November 7, 1994 in Nashville TN. He played with Marty until he died and after Marty he played with Hank Snow. He was my mother's (Robbie Sykes Orr) brother. Uncle Bishop got my brother James Leon Orr job playing drums with Jim Reeves . I remember Marty and Jim setting down at mom and dad's dinner table when they would come in from touring . Really good memories I have been left with. Thanks for keeping their legacy alive tarquin 45 .

I got to meet Bobby years ago in his home. He was my mom's great uncle. I really loved the guy. He seem to really liked my dad.

He sings the superb male vocal on the masterpiece Carter Family Album. Those songs just jump off the vinyl and penetrate your soul, and his deep voice really accentuates the angelic harmonies of the carter sisters. If you've never heard that LP, here is the link.

I love the videos you post thanks. You have a lot of information about Marty and the band. Could you tell me if Bobby sing with Marty until he died?

If Bobby wasn't singing with Marty up until the very end, he still worked for him in a behind the scenes capacity. Bob sang with Hank Snow after Marty passed away. Thanks for your kind comments Carole.
Listening to Marty Robbins has been one of the joys of mine and many people's lives.
