Love the work you do, we deserved this story from Enterprise season 5, still don't understand why they didn't deliver it. Though it is a bit maddening on my patience that we probably won't see part 2 until early to mid 2021. ah well, good things come to those who wait.
I loved part 1! Finally a big part of United Earth history we haven't gotten to see before you guys made it possible! Can't wait to see part 2. Wish I had the means to help you guys out but we're financially strapped at the moment, living paycheck to paycheck.
This is fan made? I was about to say... This prequel was better than the last few Star Trek series. ( Sorry Discovery but you're from CBS streaming service and so damned by association)
I tried, without success, to interest Paramount in a Captain Sulu series that would have begun with a two-part episode, involving Romulans and time travel. Drat. Would've been good, too. ...Loved this one! Did the second part ever get filmed and released?
It's funny because I was checking RUclips to see if anybody did anything that featured at least an explanation for the romulan war because it's always been super interesting to me but there's no freaking canon explanation whatsoever lol.
It looks great and what a great idea. If I may suggest: It looks too modern compared to TOS. It took place about a century before TOS. With primitive ships and weapons which includes the use of nuclear weapons - implying that they were using retro-rocket propulsion. There was no quarter during the war due to the primitive technology. This lead to neither side having seen the other. It also means that the Romulans didn't have cloaking technology yet. The episode "Balance of Terror" stated that the Romulans seemed to solved the enormous power consumption problem and battle testing the cloak on the Federation. Also it was made clear that the Federation was completely unaware of the cloaking technology. Following this key cannon data would authenticate what your doing IMO.
@@TheRomulanWar yes. I did. It all looks too "modern" compared to TOS. Too many energy weapons and they were being used in planetary bombardment. Energy weapons wouldn't be very good in planetary bombardment due to the filtration effect of the atmosphere. I wouldn't mind being a technical advisor for you guys.
@@Inquisitor6321 It's not too modern - we go by the look established in ENT, which is canon whether you will personally acknowledge it as such or not. As ENT showed us, the Romulans did have stealth technology before TOS and obviously, it wasn't very effective because Archer's ship was very quickly able to penetrate it. One would think that by the TOS era, Kirk and crew were indeed surprised to see the Romulans using a cloak which did not have the flaws that the old ENT-era stealth tech did not have. We did show pretty clearly that nukes were being used by both sides and that neither race has seen the other, though the Romulan leadership does know what human beings look like (again shown in ENT) and certainly Spock would have no idea of whether this was actually true or not since he did not know the Romulans' perspective from a century ago. He only knows that humans have never seen Romulans (at least that's the official line, anyway). We will just have to disagree that an energy weapon would not be destructive on ground targets, regardless of the atmosphere. The first time we see the NX-01's phase cannon get tested, it shatters a planetoid. Kirk's Enterprise could even fine-tune phaser bombardments through a planetary environment with ease. And it happens that our Stormbird's anti-proton weapon is immensely powerful, especially when it fires from a low planetary orbit like we show in the film. We're ok on technical consultants, but thanks for your comments!
lolol Nope ... Love Conquers All! Love you guys!! Love you Romulans too!! Light wins!! Love Love Love, I donate a LOVE to you all!! 🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖💖💖🧡🧡💛💛💚💚💙💙💜💜 - We Love You, Romulans!
I want to make a suggestion. As it increasing looks like the Federation just may lose the war, because of the Battle of Khittomer (I think), the sacrifice of the enterprise, The Klingons Join in the war against the Romulans, which hits a direct Morale Blow to the Romulans. As the Klingons Join, other Planets, being encourage also join in, Including the Vulcans. Cardassians also being devastated by heavy losses by the Romulans sign an uneasy alliance with the Federation, but a necessary one. Which drives back the Romulans, and the Federation is finally able to ID the Enemy Home and Logistics.
1. Should have held true to the Star Trek storyline. A. The early Romulans did NOT have WARP drive. B. They had that red balloon weapon that took WARP drive to escape. C. First Contact is like first contact! Except your contact might blow you up. Tech Storyline that leads to a game changer breakthrough.Captain Archer did NOT have real shields, just a force that helped hold things together. A simple breakthrough could turn the tables on Romulus.
We did our homework. A) The Romulans DID have warp speed in this time period. You might be referencing the Romulan ship that moved on "simple impulse" in the TOS episode "Balance of Terror," but we know that it was only that ship that didn't have warp drive, likely because it was overpowered with a cloak and a super-plasma weapon. Other Romulan ships did travel at FTL speeds in ENT and in later episodes of TOS. B) The plasma "balloon weapon" is still a century away but even a photon torpedo or disruptor would require warp speed to get away from since they can move at FTL speeds. Not sure what the point is in bringing up the plasma weapon - it has nothing to do with our story. C) I'm not sure what the point is here, either. First contact with the Romulans happened in ENT episode "Minefield," which takes place about three years before the events of our story. You are correct that the NX-01 and other Starfleet ships at the time did not have deflector shields. They only had the polarized hull plating as a defense against attack and that's consistent with Part 1 of our film. However, there will be several technological breakthroughs which turn the tables on the Romulans in part 2... stay tuned!
If you actually saw the episode balance of Terror spock even says something about the ship being underpowered and mainly all the power going to the weapon and its cloak to the reason why it didn't have warp drive.. that doesn't mean that other Romulan Birds of Prey did not have warp drive especially because they even had some Klingon battle cruisers at that time or the same class think it was D7 or something but that has nothing to do with this story anyway because that's 100 years away don't even understand your criticism. I think this story was a masterpiece
We see in TRW 1 that Earth ships recover from the Romulan hijack weapon faster because they are not using Vulcan tech which has been stolen/co-opted by the other powers in the region. You will see in TRW 2 how the humans finally defeat the Romulan weapon completely and make it useless with a low-tech approach.
No offense, but all the merch kinda reeks of another fanfilm production, that kinda ruined all fanfilms - but at least you guys have some fanfilm to show off vs merchandising for years, and still no fanfilm
Their perks look very reasonable to me and certainly needed to offer to fans to help fund a project. I also don't like your comment that Axanar ruined all fan films, there have been dozens of fan films since the guidelines and some incredible ones + like 100 Vance Major projects and what..20+ potemkin ones...so im not sure what you mean ruined fan films...the Trek fan film community is doing fantastic and producing some of its best work.

Thank you so much for making this story!
These guys put CBS to shame!
Well Done Sir .... very well done .

Beautiful.👌👍
You did it! Outside of the too long monologue, this was a great answer to pt 1. I'm not hating, just anxious. I'll go online later. Thank you.
This wasn't whatI expected but it was still damn good. Great video. Thank you.

Those Romulan Raptors look much like the ships used by the Dominion in Deep Space 9.

I missed out on the chance to back Star Trek Continues as much as I would like to have. Not making that mistake again.
Just donated $100.
Might be a bit weird having a random British accent in the show?
Looking forward to part 2.
I think you should have the Earth ship being to primitive to be jamed/hijacked by the Romulan technology.

Offering perks is pretty standard for all crowdfunding campaigns. We don't have "merch"... we have digital perks or you can be in the production.
