Whoa ! Is that some trick photography or has Mel got herself a Mega Jumbo !?!? Might miss ya Live tonight Roger but you know I’ll be back as soon as I can.
Hey Don, its Ken. No trick photography there, she found some BIG ones. You're gonna love it
Hey DON, Its ROger. that one was 12.5 the next day i got on 13.5 on the same spot. actualt it is the same spot that you and i fished last year in the clam. funny mel and i got 65 keepers and tossed about 8 back. the next day i took a guy there and we got about 200 and kept 65.
@@RogersRigs hey Ken , just finished up some stuff gonna watch it now.
Hey Roger, 2 days in a row bringing 65 keepers home is awesome. On a day when you catch over 200… that had to be some fast and furious action…. Can’t wait !
Hey Mr. Roger, it's David and Ben from speech class at co-op! Awesome catch! Your channel is really cool! We subscribed!
Hi Guys!!! i did not know you had a channel! that is some great stuff i subbed!
Thanks! Yeah we do Lego Stop Motion videos on our channel! Thanks for subscribing!
that must take a lot of time! good work
So cool watching the fish underwater!!!
yes! and we learn a lot from the game tape!
Im hungry now
Yes! they are YUMMY
Can't to go in a few weeks!
oh yeah !
Don't throw the eggs away, they are the best part of a winter perch, but eat them fresh, don't freeze them.
thanks for the tip. i actually just froze some. oops here is our first vid with perch eggs ruclips.net/video/2xDxzzmwy0I/видео.html
Roger My name is Art Houck, are you a Minnesota boy?
@deeannhouck5144, hey thanks for watching. This is Ken, I work for Roger doing the videos. We actually are from upstate NY in the Adirondack Mountains. Roger lives in Brant Lake NY and I am about 20 or so minutes away in Ticonderoga NY. Pretty cool that you guys share the same last name.
Hi Art! Roger Houck here. Dont run into a lot of Houcks! this clan is from the central NY area origonaly but I'm sure we are related!
Thanks for the tips, fished in 33 feet on a feeding flat and slayed the perch and got a consolation laker…. My first
THAT IS GREAT TO HEAR!!!!!! was the ice sloppy with shush? what was the average size of the perch?
@@RogersRigs nope, and got a bunch of dinks but the avrge I kept was 8-10 inches and my dad got a 13.5
@@joefishstone8132 that is awesome! thanks for the report. I hope to get back out there tomorrow
I set the reminder and still missed it! Grr!
Such fun!
Man that's a nice perch... The darn thing has shoulders!
Let the videoing begin! ...And the Vexilar made more sense this time! 🤪
the video still was missing some of the flashes on the vex but it was hard to miss in the dark! Thanks Jim!
Sick , im here for 2 days, how deep were you fishing
Hi Joe e-mail be and I can give you some details. but the south basin of LG is pretty perchy. 30-35fow green grass on bottom. Bolton landing and NW bay are popular. there is a lot of slush out there now with the snow.
@@RogersRigs just fished outa Harris bay a lil bit before dark and caught 3 dinks, still fun. Gonna try tomorrow morning
morning is the best for perch usualy. right as the sun is coming up.
Hey that tungsten looks familiar 😂. Just retied it on today when I put new line on. Your wife was killing it... That nite time one was a slab. Wow! Lord willing I will be up there this week... Let me know if you wanna meet up. 👍
sounds good. we will watch the weather. it was Crazy cold today out there.
Hey roger! I was just out there at Huletts Landing and caught my first ever Laker. I was wondering if you know of any good Laker spots
Hi Joey, great job on your first laker! did you manage to stay warm today? it was pretty Artic out there! I have caught lakers literally every part of LG from ROgers rock to MDB. we just got one today in a 30'deep perch bed. almost anywhere that there is over 70fow you can usually jig one up with a swedish pimple. i made some vids on the channel on jiging lakers , and getting them on a tip up. The lake is basically covered in lakers and there are not much waters 30 to 110' deep that you will not find them. I like 60-80fow . if you download the free navionics app on your phone you will see the lake topography and try the methods on our vid and you will catch them! GOod luck!
@@RogersRigs I actually spent the night out there, we ran two heaters and it was still a frigid night. I set up on a drop-off in 72ft of water. Saw maybe five Lakers during that night. I’ll check out your video!
WOW! you are my hero! yeah the lakers don't bit much at night. the smelt run wild all night though. did you see any smelt or ciscos?
@@RogersRigs yeah! They literally filled the entire water column! I have a Livescope so I could see their schools and they were like twenty feet across. The only issue with the Livescope is it doesn’t pick up my spoon past 60ft, so I was essentially fishing blind unless there was a Laker higher in the water column.
That sounds amazing! I did not know that about the livescope. would a laker show up in deeper water just not a jig? or is there just no resolution below 60?
That is so cool, Roger. Love the missed tackle shot and comment. Glad you got to get out and enjoy this with Melanie. Love it.
ha ha, yep watching the underwater really gives some drama to each bite. thanks for watching!
Holy cow those were some monster Perch Mel caught and some good looking sunnies too. She was rockin’ it ! That’s a good looking pile of fillets on the cleaning table. Cannot wait to get over there.
Yes it was a blast, then we got hit with 2 more days of crazy cold. we fished, but it was brutal!!!
@@RogersRigs 5 below Zero here this morning ,gotta get out and clean up after the Nor’easter came thru, not too much snow but the wind is still whipping . May get out this afternoon if the wind dies down some. This is when I wish I had a one man flip over shanty.
yeah its almost too cold to fish!!!!
Hahaha Roger…..you said “almost” which leads me to believe you are fishing. You are a better man than me in oh so many ways. 🥶👍
ha ha ha, it is just an addiction i think
I’ve never fished lake George and am coming up for the week to fish for Lakers ,any pointers on an access point that would put me in an area with good chances of a laker
yep you will do well on the lakers. they are plentiful. i've got vids on the channel on jiging them and tip ups. if you have a sonar, you can do very well jigin. Nw bay hearthstone, veterans park, are all good access points. then use navionics to find about 70' fow and start jiging! email me through my website and i can give you more details
Thank you!
I love fishing for Yellow Perch! Not a lot of great opportunities to fish for them here in WV unfortunately.
Sorry to hear that. but you do have crappies and brim? do you have ice thick enough to fish on this year?
@@RogersRigs yes we do, I enjoy fishing for bluegill and crappie and also eating them. I just wish we had better yellow perch populations like u guys have lol
well at least you have somthing to bread and fry! perch are kind of sporatic across teh coutry, at leas in populations big eanough to eat
@@RogersRigs very true! There is one good lake for them in WV.. actually our biggest lake in the state, Summersville Lake.. Best of luck fishing to you, I enjoy your videos
