I personally just expect a warm hello from the crews, and hope they wont keep coming to me to check on me, as i fly so often. I prefer efficiency over attentive. CX is way too under staff after covid since they fired most of the FA during covid. Now they are desperately trying to hire more FA but not offering enough money or incentive, Also catering was always hit and miss for Cathay, even first class meals are nothing special.

I watch these videos for only one reason - to see what the bed is like. I can't sleep anymore in economy seats (age and nerve damage) and since I am a FT traveler I change continents a couple times/year. One can cross the Atlantic on day flights (Dublin/London - New York/Boston), but that doesn't work often on other continent changes. And these seats/beds are not super huge, but the difference to me is HUGE. Am not wealthy and my yearly spending has been ~$50K for the last 4 years of planet wandering, so you know even the best priced biz class seats are a large portion of my yearly spend. I don't do loyalty programs or any points chasing as I prefer to live my life as unscheduled and simply as possible, and I never seem to fly on the same airline or airline group anyway. I have yet to find a lie flat biz class seat that is less than wonderful. Korean Air: Atlanta - Seoul is my best experience yet. I highly recommend you consider biz class seats if you can, in any way, afford it. Yes, $3-4K is way too much for just traveling, but since ships don't ply the seas anymore, this is the only civilized way to move about comfortably.
I flew Cathay Pacific in business class from Los Angeles to Bangkok Thailand, with a layover in Hong Kong. The service seem to be lacking a little bit, but I’m not high maintenance lol the food was lacking except for the hamburger which I thoroughly enjoyed, yes, I would fly with them again .

After the pay cuts, the firings and the current low morale issues plaguing Cathay, it's not surprising the service just isn't what it was (compared to their Asian peers like Singapore, ANA and JAL), but I think the critique of the main course isn't really "fair". Seems Cantonese cuisine (or that particular dish) just isn't something you'd enjoy, rather than it being a bad rendition of that particular dish.

CX staff are one of the best I have encountered. But the business class seats are just not worth it, comparing to other airlines. It is just a flat bed version of economy class
Let me introduce you to the CX way of cutting costs in business class via mind tricks. Did you notice that two of the same exact any time snack options are listed TWICE, once as an all day/any time option and AGAIN as the first two in the Mains for the 1st meal? Why don’t you guess why that is :) Isn’t it also interesting that they order the Mains option with the most expensive one at the last. Basically Cathay is purposely tricking you into thinking there are more options where actually they just offer you the same cheaper options from the snack menu as mains - and purposely directing your attention by playing games with how it’s ordered in the menu list, in the hopes that all customers will just order one of the snack menu as the mains…..win win to lower catering costs. Also notice how small the desserts are….overall meal quality looks like what you get from a food court.
