    someone just sent the link to this video, I LOVED Table VIII in Grafenwoehr, best year was the year I started doing photography and I caught the sabot about 50 meters out of the tube, even the Bn CO wanted that shot.

    I've been off tanks for quite a while now, but it seems like just yesterday I was yelling to my driver "no, your other left".
    I found some old videos that'll I'll post if I ever get the time to convert them.

    I dont know when this video was shot. But they are wearing barets. I would have to say this is National Guard. This is a M1 Abram. 105 rifled tube.

      ¡It's a IPM1 MBT the last versión of the Abrams, to use a 105mm M68E1 rifled maingun!

      Right on Julio. ! I know even all the way up to 2003 a Guard unit was still operation M1 105's.

      I was stationed at Fort Knox, KY in 1989 (OSUT). The Marines were in the motor pool with their M60A3’s and we were new recruits training on the M1.
      As a loader on the M1 during BCT live-fire, the 105mm ruptured my right ear drum.
      Then I was sent to Camp Casey where they had M60A3’s for all of the wintertime. Then shortly thereafter, we received our M1’s with the 120mm main gun.
      Once again [but this time as the driver], the 120mm main gun ruptured my right eardrum a second time.
      In both events, I had hearing protection and wearing the CVC helmet.
      It was not until I PCS’d to Fort Carson, CO and had my tympanoplasy reconstructive surgery in July 1991 and was taken completely off of the tanks.
      This was at the same time that parts of my unit was deployed for Operation Desert Shield/Storm.
      I did not deploy to Kuwait. Instead, I reclassified my MOS to work in S-1 as a 75B and later as a 75L (administrative specialist).

    This Unit must be National Guard. They are completely chewed up. No 3 points of contact, some soldiers with no headgear, some in berets, some in Kevlar’s with no chin straps, and all on a Live Fire Range. Improper handling of Tank Ammunitions and Live Ammo between running vehicles. All of this in the first 30 seconds of the video. If that was my Unit or those were my soldiers in a published video, I would be embarrassed.

    Weird, they are wearing Berets but on M1A1's. Must be a National Guard unit (why I cannot recognize the patch). The Narrator got some bad info...BMP? Yeah, that is not a dangerous target and "On the way" just means the gunner is about to fire the gun.

    • @CLANSON
      @CLANSON 8 месяцев назад

      Not to mention that the loader yells “UP” to let the gunner and tank commander (TC) know that the projectile has been loaded and is ready to be fired.

    • @firstlt2
      @firstlt2 8 месяцев назад

      @@CLANSON That is normal. The TC and Gunner have to wait for the "UP" before firing...it also means that the loader is clear of the Breech recoil area.

    I'm curious could you provide some information on the fire control from a gunner's point of view? Does one simply aim the crosshair, lase, and fire? Do you use a predicted impact point and drag that over the target? I've always wondered, and am trying to simulate something like it in a game system. Thanks!

    Yeah they moved it.... I did read an article where the Infantry and Armor teams had to work together to maximize the range layouts - so it should be a pretty cool environment. If you need a Ft Knox fix - just watch Stripes!

    this loader is killing me. How slow can he load the round? for real. This would have been a NO GO! I really love when he loads a round and bends over putting his head between the breach and ammo doors. Things have changed for the good. 19K for life!

    Great video. These boys need to get their BBQ grills ready for the next regimental attack in their VISMODS. You can tell this ain't their day job. No disrespect at all. Love the OPFOR and tanking. And NTC to be honest. Especially when you win a battle or two. Love that frontal view of 2 M240s shooting at you.
