How's it going brother? Do you think those might work for a ls Vic conversion? I have a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor I am doing a Ls3/6l80 swap. I am not sure which shorties I might need. Since you have a ranger and Crown Vic I figure you have a better idea then I would. Lol. Everyone is doing a s-10 swap. Not many Ranger swaps. I was thinking about doing one once I'm done with my Vic swap. My block is in the machine shop. So it'd be a while. I prob have at least a year before she's up. I still have to get a Gen4 harness. I found one on E-Bay for $159 but I'm not sure about using one that cheap. I can thin and depin a stock harness and I think it would last alot longer then that E-Bay to just get it going harness lol
I think for a crown vic you are going to want the actual S10 swap headers as they are tucked in much tighter. We were originally going to put this engine in the crown vic but thought better of it as the crown vic needs to stay a daily driver. way too much down time to do the swap.
Cool thank you very much. Same here. It wasn't till I bought my wife a new car and I am using the 2018 Kia Soul that was hers as my daily driver. Now I can swap the Vic. I didn't want the 4.6 laying around so I posted it on Maket place cause I know there are millions of F-150s and Stangs and everything else. There are alot sitting cause people can't afford a engine or trans. I posted the engine for $900 and sold it the next morning lol. The trans sold the next day for $400. That's really good for my area.
I started making videos and putting them on RUclips step by step instructions for my grandkids. The engine sold so fast I couldn't make videos. I have the wiring schematics for my 03' and I made a stand alone so my gauges will work. I have everything figured out. I finally figured out the speedo. Dakota Digital has a speedo/tach converter box for $115. It will convert any signal so the speedo will work if it's a electric signal. SGI-100BT is the part number if you need it. They also have a flywheel tooth counter for $89.
I actually did eventually try this with the headers in the video. I do believe it is absolutely possible to do this but to be honest I did mess up the drivers side header on mine because I got impatient and started applying pressure incorrectly which wedge shape the flange in the top to bottom direction. I basically ruined it. Thankfully these are not super expensive.
I have those same headers for my LS swapped ‘73 c/10…..for the price they work great
We ended up taking these off in favor of the Speed Engineering S10 headers due to our space constraints. Would love to have tried them otherwise.
