@@flo9133 I settled on the Glorious GMMK but I haven't got one yet for a variety of reasons. They launched a new keyboard since and from what I've seen I'll probably go with that.
In the meantime, I nicked the Microsoft Sculpt from my work computer (I bought that keyboard myself) which I love the ergonomics of, but I hate the low profile membrane keycaps, and though they're not bad for what they are they are tragic for gaming.
I game on the Razer Tartarus Pro which, love it or hate it, I can't live without and I'll still main even after I make my custom keyboard.

Now people out there chasing the dragon enthusiasts for whom the grass is always greener getting deeper into exclusives and are getting a new custom to match their new set up, like redecorating - are more like your story. A lot of it starts with RSI needs, function, feel, features and some BIFL types. This year I was looking for a keyboard. I had the choice of the Steelseries Apex Pro or the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition. I went with the Razer Huntsman TE. I snatched this keyboard for only £80 on Amazon Prime Day. It took me a while to get use to this keyboard because it's so responsive where I could accidentally click random keys but now I am at the point where I've pretty much almost mastered it. The only reason I didn't go for the Apex Pro is the ABS keycaps and the whole keyboard isn't optical switches which I bet if I spent nearly £200 on that keyboard, they would release another one with full optical switches and PBT keycaps. For £80, it was a no brainer.

I bought the HyperX earlier this spring (probably because of a Hardware Canucks review); sweet price and great keys. I added o-rings to dampen sound a bit; a friend used my keyboard for a few minutes and a few days later he wanted to know which o-rings I used. He bought one too. There are probably better keyboards out there, but I got a great price and I love it.

The novel keys board seems interesting, might have to have a look at getting one soon.
